Learning Taijutsu

In the following days of the week the class schedule consists of body conditioning in the morning from 8 to 11, lunch break at 11 to 12, theoretical lessons from 1 to 3 and ends with chakra meditation. By next 2 week we were told to practice meditation on our own and move on to the academy taijutsu kata. The kata doesn't include any complicated technique. It's just a basic straight forward teaching on how to punch, kick, footwork on how to close a distance, create distance, defence guard and such.

By the end of third week I received a devastating news that we were not allowed to quit academy or shinobi life during war. We can only quit if the authorities deem we are not fit to perform to be a shinobi. Now it all makes sense why my father couldn't quit his job and stay at home despite me being his only surviving family left. But it doesn't justify his written will wanting me to be a shinobi. Maybe he did or didn't and the village lied about it. It's already too late at this point. But one thing is clear, I need to take this more seriously or I might not live long enough to reach adulthood.

The third month of the academy. Today we will be sparring in the training ground for taijutsu class. We were all ushered out to the field by our homeroom teacher. I stood among the crowd to see how this was going to go.

Our teacher announce our match up. Understandably no cilvilian and orphans were paired with the clan kids. I was paired with yagami, a civilian student. We were ask to fight inside a circle drawn on the ground. The rules are simple, whoever steps out the circle lose or chose to give up. The civilians were first to take up the stage. When the teacher gave the signal the fight comenece. It was a comedy show but then again what was I expecting from a bunch of children. I was called out on the third round. I step into ring or cirlce as they were called. Yagami stood facing me and looked nervous. After toru sesei gave the signal. I took a stand and closed the distance. I took it slow and easy making it easy for him to see my movement. I am not here to hurt him. I am here to get used to the movement in the kata. I gave him a right hand straight. He block with his left hand and winced. It snapped him out from the pain and he threw over right hand without maintain his form. I lean over to the right and cross left hook with my left. My fist connected with his nose. Ops! He went down sprawling on the ground. Our teacher announced the end of the match.

With another 2 round of civilian match. The clan kids were called out. The fight that ensue is not what I expected from kids. Their movements are fast, fluid and their footwork was amazing especially the class prodigy kakashi. He could even jump over his opponents head in a graceful manner. That kind of power generated from the jump could even hurt an adult. His movement isn't something I have ever seen in my previous life. In fact I can confirm that such movement cannot be performed on earth because it is borderline defying the law of physics. He must have a lot of experience before joing the academy to be this good. Asuma and Might Guy also perform spectacular. I had thought that Guy came from a civilian background but seeing his performance today i am starting to have doubts.

With the end of the match, the class ended today. The injured students were taken to the infirmary and the rest were sent home.

As I was leaving the field, I saw Asuma, Gai and other kids having a commotion at the front gate. As i got closer, I hear Gai shouting, "I declare you as my Rival". I looked over and saw Gai jump in front of Kakashi and point his finger at him. I felt amused and expectant to watch the drama unfold in the days to come. Kakashi is a silent nonchalant guy with occasional sarcastic remarks. Gai is an over excited rolling of unending energy. Interaction between the two of them will be funny. I went forward and put my arms around Asuma's shoulder and the uchiha kid with the swimming googles and whispered without looking at them. "Thats the type of guys the girls look up to. Even Kurenai chan is smitten by their boldness".

Hearing my word, Asuma was speechless. I left them with their own thoughts and went to the library. I still have many subjects yet to cover. Fuinjutsu is also one them and the three academy jutsu under ninjutsu. Now that I have access to my chakra, I could start exploring the possibilities in these field. With charkra it will be easier to understand the information in the book.

Fuinjutsu is an interesting one. My father used to say that it is close to re-writing a reality. In the books it is said that fuinjutsu or "Sealing Techniques," is a type of jutsu that allows users to seal objects, living beings, chakra, and other things within another object or person. It can also be used to restrict movement or unseal things. It is primarily used for sealing, which means trapping or storing something inside something else. Some of the examples are sealing weapons inside scrolls, sealing chakra or chakra creatures. Creating traps, restricting movement, creating barriers for security measures. It requires a lot of study and knowledge. There is a science-like aspect to fuinjutsu, with a methodology that can be learned and studied. After reading through the introduction I came to realise that it will take a lot of time and effort to understand so I plan to skim through and focus on my immediate need right now. Ninjustsu is a basic requirement for all shinobi. Academy students are required to perform three basic techniques to graduate. Clone technique, transformation technique and substitutions technique. The possibility of chakra fasinates me. Fuinjutsu, ninjutsu all required chakra. Even taijutsu helps in strengthening the body. In a sense, chakra is the most important thing in every aspect of a shinobi life.
