"Have you heard? There are rumors that the abandoned hospital on the outskirts of the city is haunted. Many people went in for an adventure, but none of them came out unharmed," said Da Liu mysteriously to a few of us friends.
"Come on, there's no such thing as ghosts. It must be someone trying to scare people. Maybe someone made it up on purpose to keep others away from that place," I said firmly, but my heart couldn't help feeling a bit curious.
Da Liu continued, "I'm not lying to you. It's said that at night, you can hear the miserable cries of patients, and there are faint blood handprints on the walls."
A Qiang, who was beside us, suddenly became excited. "Why don't we go and take a look tonight? If we really encounter a ghost, it would be quite an eye-opener."
The others hesitated for a moment, but in the end, they all nodded in agreement. After all, we were all young people with a strong sense of curiosity, and we always thought those supernatural legends were nonsense.
At night, the five of us arrived at that abandoned hospital. The cold moonlight shone on the dilapidated building, casting eerie shadows. The hospital gate was tightly closed, the glass was broken, and the cold wind whistled through the gaps, making a "woo-woo" sound, as if someone was crying softly.
"This place really gives me the creeps," said A Zhen, hugging her arms tightly and her voice trembling slightly.
"What are you afraid of? We're a big group," A Qiang said bravely, but I clearly saw his hand unconsciously clench.
We found a gap and climbed over the wall into the hospital. There was a pungent smell of a mixture of decay and disinfectant in the air. The paint on the walls had peeled off in large patches, revealing a rough and mottled surface.
"This smell is terrible," Da Liu complained, covering his nose.
We walked cautiously, the beams of our flashlights swaying in the darkness. Suddenly, A Zhen let out a scream, "Look over there!"
Following the direction she pointed, we saw a faint blood handprint on the wall.
"Is this... is this real?" A Zhen's face turned pale with fear.
"Maybe it's just someone playing a prank," I said to comfort her, but I also started to feel a bit scared inside.
We continued walking and came to a ward. The beds in the ward were all out of order, and the quilts were scattered messily on the floor, as if someone had struggled desperately here.
"This place feels like something terrible happened here," A Qiang said in a low voice.
Just then, we heard a faint groaning sound, which seemed to be coming from under the bed.
"Who? Who's there?" Da Liu called out bravely.
There was no response, only the creepy groaning sound continued.
A Qiang shone his flashlight under the bed. "Ah!" He let out a scream and collapsed to the ground.
We quickly gathered around and saw something that looked like a person under the bed. It was covered in blood, and its face was unrecognizable, with its limbs twisted horribly.
"Quick... let's get out of here!" I shouted in a panic.
We turned and ran towards the door, but as soon as we reached the doorway, the door slammed shut with a "bang", and we couldn't open it no matter how hard we tried.
"What should we do? We're trapped!" A Zhen cried out in a panic.
Suddenly, the lights in the ward turned on, flickering on and off. The light was dim and eerie. The blood-covered thing slowly crawled out from under the bed, leaving a trail of blood on the floor with every move it made.
"Please, don't hurt us..." A Zhen pleaded.
The thing ignored her and continued to approach us slowly.
"Let's fight it!" A Qiang somehow summoned up the courage, picked up an iron rod beside him, and swung it at the thing.
After being hit, the thing let out an ear-piercing scream and spat out a stream of black liquid, which splashed onto A Qiang.
A Qiang let out a scream of pain. The places on his body where the liquid had splashed began to fester, and pieces of flesh fell off.
"A Qiang!" We tried to rush over to save him, but the thing pounced on us again.
In the chaos, Da Liu was grabbed by the arm by the thing. With a hard tug, his entire arm was torn off, and blood gushed out.
"Ah!" Da Liu fainted from the pain.
A Zhen and I took the opportunity to find the door switch and quickly escaped.
We ran desperately along the corridor of the hospital, and the thing chased closely behind.
"No, this won't work. Running like this is not a solution. We should split up and lead it away," I said to A Zhen, gasping for breath.
A Zhen nodded and ran in the other direction.
I ran alone to the basement of the hospital. The smell of decay was even stronger in the basement. All kinds of old and broken medical equipment were placed around, and there were also some glass jars filled with liquid. Vaguely, you could see human organs soaked inside.
"What on earth is this hellish place..." I said to myself in horror.
Suddenly, I slipped and "plop" fell into a pool full of blood. I struggled to stand up and found that the pool was full of severed limbs. The smell was so disgusting that it made me want to vomit.
"Help..." I cried out desperately for help.
Just then, I saw the blood-covered monster appear by the side of the pool, staring at me coldly.
"Why... why are you doing this to us..." I asked, crying.
The monster didn't say a word and slowly walked into the pool, approaching me step by step.
Just as it was about to catch me, my hand suddenly touched a sharp stone. I used all my strength to throw it at the monster.
After being hit, the monster paused for a moment. I took the opportunity to climb out of the pool and continued to run deeper into the basement.
I saw a tightly closed door. It felt as if there was something behind the door attracting me. I pushed the door open with all my might. Inside was a dimly lit room. In the middle of the room, there was an operating table with a person lying on it, covered with a white cloth.
I walked closer, lifted the white cloth, and found it was a woman with a disfigured face. Her chest had been cut open, and her heart was missing.
"Ah!" I stepped back in horror.
Just then, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw it was A Zhen.
"A Zhen, are you okay?" I asked quickly.
A Zhen didn't say a word. She just stared at me with empty eyes.
"A Zhen, what's wrong with you? Say something!" I walked towards her anxiously.
Suddenly, A Zhen spat out a mouthful of blood and then fell to the ground. I quickly squatted down to check and found a scalpel stuck in her back, and blood was gushing out.
"No... A Zhen..." I was filled with grief.
Before I could recover, the blood-covered monster appeared again. It walked towards me step by step. I was too tired to run anymore.
"Why... why is all this happening..." I roared in despair.
The monster stopped in front of me and slowly said, "You shouldn't have come... The secret here must never be discovered..."
"What secret..." I asked weakly.
The monster didn't answer but just stretched out its long claws and reached out for me.
I closed my eyes in despair, waiting for death.
When I woke up again, I found myself in a strange room. It was pitch black all around. I tried to move and found that my hands and feet were tied up.
"Is there anyone? Help me..." I shouted for help.
Suddenly, the lights in the room turned on, and I saw Da Liu, A Qiang, and A Zhen were all there. They looked terrifying, with missing limbs and empty eyes.
"You..." I was too frightened to speak.
"We're all dead... You can't escape either..." Da Liu's voice was like it came from hell.
At this moment, the blood-covered monster appeared again, holding a chainsaw in its hand and walking towards me slowly.
"No! No, please!" I struggled desperately, but it was useless.
The sound of the chainsaw buzzed in the room. Along with my screams, blood splattered everywhere...
From then on, no one ever saw us again. That abandoned hospital still stood quietly on the outskirts of the city, exuding a terrifying atmosphere, warning everyone who wanted to get close...
