Chapter 11: A Shoulder to Lean On

His fingers twitched as if resisting the urge to go after Min-Soo.

Turning to Ha-Joon, Seo-Won's face softened. "Are you okay?"

Ha-Joon hesitated before nodding, though his hands were still trembling. "I… I don't know…"

Seo-Won sighed and reached out, gently tugging Ha-Joon closer. "Come here."

Without thinking, Ha-Joon let himself be pulled into a warm embrace. The tension in his body melted as he buried his face in Seo-Won's shoulder.

"It's okay," Seo-Won murmured, his hand resting protectively on Ha-Joon's back. "He won't touch you again."

Ha-Joon squeezed his eyes shut, trying to calm his racing heart. He had never felt so small, yet at the same time… so safe.

As the cafeteria returned to normal, whispers filled the air. But Ha-Joon barely heard them.

All he could feel was the steady warmth of Seo-Won, holding him as if he was the most precious thing in the world.

Two Days Later

Min-Soo had been humiliated in front of everyone. His pride, his ego—both shattered in an instant by Seo-Won's interference. The memory of that moment burned in his mind, fueling his anger.

How dare he make me look weak? And that pathetic Ha-Joon…

His grip tightened around the cup of steaming water in his hand as he sat in the college café, eyes fixed on the entrance. He had been waiting. And finally—

Ha-Joon entered, oblivious to the danger lurking nearby.

Min-Soo smirked. Perfect.

As Ha-Joon approached the counter, Min-Soo stood swiftly, his movements quick and calculated. With a sudden flick of his wrist, he hurled the scalding water straight toward Ha-Joon.

SPLASH!

But before the liquid could touch him—

A strong arm yanked Ha-Joon away.

Ha-Joon gasped as he was pulled into a firm chest, the air knocked from his lungs. The next thing he knew, a familiar voice growled low beside him.

"You really don't learn, do you?"

Seo-Won.

His presence was like a storm—intense, unyielding. His golden hair glowed under the café's warm lights, but his blue eyes were dark with fury.

Min-Soo's expression twisted in frustration. His plan had failed. Again.

"Tch." Clicking his tongue, he turned on his heel and bolted out of the café before anyone could react.

The tension in Ha-Joon's body remained, his heart pounding wildly in his chest. His legs felt weak, and before he knew it—

A sob escaped his lips.

"Shh, it's okay." Seo-Won's voice softened as he pulled Ha-Joon closer, wrapping him in his arms. "You're safe."

Ha-Joon clutched onto him tightly, tears soaking into Seo-Won's shirt. The fear, the shock—it was too much.

"I… I was so scared…" he choked out between quiet cries.

Seo-Won gently stroked his back, his touch warm and reassuring. "I know. But I won't let him hurt you. Ever."

Ha-Joon's grip on Seo-Won's shirt loosened slightly, exhaustion settling in. The steady rise and fall of Seo-Won's chest, the warmth of his embrace—it was comforting. Too comforting.

Before he realized it, his eyelids grew heavy, and he drifted off to sleep in Seo-Won's arms.

Seo-Won sighed, adjusting Ha-Joon's weight against him. Looking down at the sleeping figure in his arms, his expression softened.

No one will ever hurt you again.
