Episode 6: The Awakening

Talent Reborn – Season 2

Episode 6: The Awakening

Haruto's mind swam in darkness.

Flashes of memories flickered through his thoughts—

The accident.

His rebirth.

The first time he discovered his ability.

But now… something was different.

His body felt like it was floating, weightless and disconnected.

A sharp whisper echoed in the void.

"You are not the only one."

Haruto tried to focus.

"You are part of something greater."

Suddenly, a blinding light consumed his vision.

He gasped—

And his eyes snapped open.

Haruto woke up strapped to a metal operating table.

Harsh white lights bore down on him.

Dozens of scientists in white coats stood around him, scribbling notes, whispering.

A familiar voice spoke.

"Welcome back, Haruto."

Dr. Ryunosuke Saito stood at the head of the room, watching with cold amusement.

Haruto tried to move, but thick restraints bound his arms and legs.

Saito tapped a screen.

"That was quite the clever trick earlier," he mused. "But let's see how you handle this."

A robotic arm descended from the ceiling, holding a sleek silver syringe.

Haruto's pulse quickened.

The moment the needle pierced his skin, fire exploded through his veins.

Every nerve in his body burned.

And then—

His mind shattered.

A storm of sensations crashed over him.

Skills. Memories. Talents.

But they weren't his.

Haruto saw images of surgeons operating with inhuman precision.

Of martial artists moving faster than the eye could track.

Of scientists creating impossible technology.

It was like his ability had gone out of control—absorbing everything at once.

Saito leaned over him.

"Your power is evolving," he murmured. "And we're just getting started."

Haruto screamed.

Then—something changed.

Instead of losing himself in the overwhelming flood of skills—

Haruto focused.

He gritted his teeth and took control.

Instead of letting the abilities consume him—

He sorted them. Chose them.

A surgeon's precision.

A lockpicker's dexterity.

A fighter's reflexes.

The restraints on his wrists? Child's play.

Haruto's fingers moved instinctively.

With a flick of his wrist, the bindings snapped open.

He caught Saito's wrist in a vice grip.

Saito's eyes widened in shock.

"You—!"

Haruto didn't hesitate.

He flipped the operating table, using the momentum to send Saito crashing backward.

Alarms blared. Scientists scrambled away in terror.

Haruto ripped out the IV from his arm. His entire body hummed with energy.

For the first time, he wasn't just copying talent.

He was mastering it.

Escape or Fight?

The doors burst open.

Armed guards poured in.

Haruto clenched his fists.

Saito stood up, brushing dust from his coat. He smiled.

"You've truly become fascinating, Haruto."

Haruto took a step forward—

Then the walls shook.

A deafening explosion ripped through the facility.

Smoke and fire burst from the far side of the room.

And through the chaos—

A familiar voice shouted:

"HARUTO! MOVE!"

Haruto turned—

To see Renji standing in the wreckage, holding a stolen rifle.

Haruto grinned.

"Right on time."

They didn't need to speak.

They ran—straight into the fire.

Straight into freedom.

But Haruto knew—

This was just the beginning.
