Damian and Sienna got in the car, the engine humming softly as he pulled out of the driveway. The sun was high in the sky, casting a golden glow that promised a perfect day ahead. Damian glanced over at Sienna, who was adjusting her sunglasses and tapping through her playlist on her phone. The tension that had surrounded her the past few days seemed to have lessened slightly. Today wasn’t about grief. Today was about healing.
"You sure you got everything that we are going to need?" Damian asked, adjusting the rearview mirror.
Sienna nodded. "Yep. I packed sunscreen, towels, snacks, and water. I even threw in your favorite chips."
He smiled, reaching out to squeeze her hand. "You’re too good to me."
She shrugged, a playful smirk tugging at her lips. "Well, someone has to spoil you. Might as well be me."
