The Witch’s Escape

Kilian stood in the center of his training room, sweat dripping down his face, his muscles aching with each breath he took. The room was quiet and heavy, only the faint glow of the overhead lights casting shadows across the walls. He had been here for hours, locked in his own thoughts, his mind consumed with the image of her. The woman from his dreams. The one who haunted his nights and made him question everything he thought he knew.

His fists struck the heavy punching bag again and again, the force of each blow echoing through the room. The bag swung back and forth with a violent force, but Kilian barely noticed. His mind was elsewhere. He couldn't get her out of his head.

Who was she?

Why couldn't he see her face?

What was it about her that shook him to his core?

No woman had ever affected him like she had. She was different, and it drove him mad.

He gritted his teeth as his punches grew harder, more frenzied.

He needed answers.

He needed to know why she was tormenting him in his dreams every night. Why her presence made him question his very existence.

His fists hit the bag with such intensity that he didn't even notice when the fabric split and the sack ruptured. The air around him was filled with the sound of tearing material, and he stopped, staring at the remnants of the seventh bag he had destroyed in frustration. His chest heaved, and his breathing grew more labored.

He clenched his fists, angry at himself for letting his emotions take over. This woman… this mystery, it had to end.

Without a word, Kilian grabbed a new bag, yanked it off the wall, and hung it back up. He wiped his brow, adjusting his stance. His wolf growled inside him, restless, as though it, too, felt the pull of something unknown. Something he couldn't grasp.

He threw another punch at the sack, the blow shaking the air. His mind raced, but no answers came.

"Alpha," a voice suddenly broke through his concentration.

Without looking up, he threw another punch. "What?". He asked, his voice stern, showing he didn’t want to be distracted nor disturbed.

His beta, Caden, stepped into the room, his presence demanding attention. He was always calm, composed—opposite to Kilian's often chaotic nature. But today, even Caden seemed more on edge. Kilian didn't stop his punches.

"Alpha," Caden repeated, his voice steady but with a hint of urgency. "We have a problem. Another witch has escaped to the human realm."

Kilian froze mid-punch, his hand making contact with the bag one last time before he let it swing. His mind snapped back to focus.

The witch.

Lately, series of events had been happening in his kingdom, where he ruled over all creatures. It’s either, newborn females pups are killed, or he gets news that some rouges killed some female wolves. Why they were only targeting the females, he just did not know, nor understand why?.

And now, a witch which was in their custody, escaped and is now in the human realm.

Some shit was happening, and he was gonna get to the bottom of it all.

His eyes narrowed as he turned to Caden. He couldn't help the flash of anger that surged through him.

Witches. He remembers how annoying it was to deal with their shit!.

He had no tolerance for them.

They were cunning, deceitful, and dangerous. He had dealt with witches before, and each time, they seemed to think they could outsmart him.

He let out a growl, the sound raw and dangerous, as he slammed his fist into the bag once more—ruining it in an instant.

The room seemed to vibrate with the force of his anger, and Caden stepped back slightly, his eyes watching his alpha carefully.

Kilian's eyes turned a bloodshot red, his wolf threatening to take over as the primal rage burned in his chest. "These witches never learn, do they?" he snarled.

Caden remained calm, unbothered by the fury of his alpha. "I've assembled some people to hunt her down, Alpha."

Kilian let out a sharp laugh, a bitter sound that echoed off the walls. "No," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "Don't worry. This time, I'll handle this myself."

Caden tilted his head slightly, his gaze questioning. "You? Again?."

Kilian's fists clenched, his anger radiating off him. "In order for them to learn," he said, his voice cold and calculated, "someone has to be made an example. Someone has to be a scapegoat. They would learn the hard way. "

Caden took a step forward, his voice laced with concern. "Alpha, you are really gonna go hunt her?. Won’t that put you on bad terms with the coven of supreme witches?."

Kilian's eyes flicked to his beta, and for a moment, the room was silent. His gaze hardened. "I didn't stutter, did I?. And I don’t give a fuck about bad terms with anyone. In this realm, order and balance has to be restored, and it they can’t understand that, I’d make them”.

The words hung in the air, thick with the promise of violence. Caden said nothing further, recognizing the fire in Kilian's eyes. His alpha was set on this path, and there was no dissuading him.

Kilian's fists trembled with anger. He needed an escape. Something to take his mind off her. And this witch… this witch had provided him with that. He would kill her.

No hesitation.

Wherever he found her, she would die.

Without another word, Kilian turned and stalked out of the training room, his mind still burning with thoughts of the woman he couldn't remember and the witch he was about to hunt down.

Caden followed closely behind, his footsteps silent, but his eyes never leaving his alpha. As they reached the door, Kilian paused, his hand resting on the handle. He glanced over his shoulder at Caden, his eyes cold and unreadable.

"Get ready. We're going to the human realm. Only you and I, the men shouldn’t follow. Tell Ben, to handle things until we get back”.

Caden nodded silently, his expression unreadable. He quickly placed a mindlink to Ben, the Omega, reporting what Killian had ordered.

Caden and Killian suited up, and walked into the woods, where a mirage of the forest stood. They both entered, and were portaled to the human realm.

The cold air of Las Vegas, greeted them as they emerged from the portal, stepping into the sleek, luxurious penthouse that Kilian called home in this world. The portal in the forest, could take anyone to any dimension, depending on how you decide to use it. Killian had ordered a really powerful witch, to link it to his home in the mortal realm, so whenever he needed to attend Mafia’s business, he would waste no time, in getting there.

His penthouse was quiet, empty, save for the few people who worked for him in the human realm. They were all unaware of the alpha's true identity, and that suited him just fine.

He walked toward his wardrobe, his muscles tense, his mind still on the witch and the woman who refused to leave his thoughts. He threw open the doors of the closet, pulling out a black suit—tailored, sharp, the kind that demanded attention.

Caden, ever loyal, followed suit, dressing in black as well. The two of them stood there for a moment, each preparing for the hunt in silence. Kilian's gaze was distant, but his mind was sharp. He knew exactly where to go. Exactly where she would be at first.

"She'll be at the cults," Kilian said, his voice low but filled with certainty. "The cults worship them. I know exactly where she'll be. They always feel like ‘gods’ around humans that worship them”.

Caden nodded. "I'll make sure we're ready for whatever comes."

Kilian's eyes flashed with determination. "No mistakes. We find her, and we end this."

With that, the two of them set out in Killian’s Lamborghini, on the busy streets of Las Vegas, to the very heart of the witch's power. Killian knew exactly how to track them, and he was following her trails.

They would find her.

And when they did, there would be no mercy.
