Chapter 93: Into the Lion’s Den

The night was thick with tension. Every streetlight flickered as if warning of the storm about to descend. Ochieng stood at the top of his skyscraper, the city sprawling beneath him like a kingdom waiting for its ruler to strike.

Sienna's words haunted him. "Your father left behind a secret that could destroy everything."

He had spent years piecing together fragments of his past, but this was different. The Order of the Black Phoenix was after something far greater than his empire.

And they were willing to burn the world to get it.

Not on his watch.

His phone vibrated. A single message from Tielen.

"We found one of them. Alive."

---

The warehouse on the outskirts of the city was deathly silent. The air was thick with the scent of blood and gasoline.

Ochieng stepped inside, his eyes landing on the man tied to a steel chair. He was bruised, bleeding, but alive.

Tielen stood beside him, arms crossed. "He was one of the attackers last night."

Ochieng crouched, studying the man's face. "Who sent you?"

Silence.

Ochieng pulled out a knife, twirling it lazily. "Let's not waste time."

The man spat blood. "You think you can stop them?" His laugh was hoarse. "You're already dead."

Ochieng's knife flashed, carving a thin line across the man's cheek. "Funny. I was about to say the same thing to you."

The man trembled, eyes darting to Tielen. "You don't understand. The Order—it's bigger than you. Bigger than this city."

Ochieng's grip tightened. "Then tell me what I don't understand."

The man's breath hitched. "They're not after you. They're after the key."

The key.

Ochieng exchanged a glance with Tielen. "What key?"

The man's lips quivered, and for the first time, Ochieng saw real fear in his eyes.

"The key to the Vault of Shadows."

The words sent a chill through Ochieng's veins.

This wasn't just about revenge anymore.

This was about something much, much bigger.

---

Sienna met him back at the penthouse, her expression grim.

"You look like you've seen a ghost," she said.

Ochieng poured himself a drink. "Tell me about the Vault of Shadows."

Sienna's face paled. "Where did you hear that name?"

"Our friend in the warehouse."

She sank into a chair. "It's not a vault. It's a prison."

Ochieng frowned. "A prison for what?"

She met his gaze. "For those who should have never existed."

A beat of silence. Then Sienna stood, grabbing her coat. "We have to go. Now."

Ochieng followed, the weight of her words settling in.

The war had only just begun.

And he was about to walk straight into the lion's den.
