Chapter 146: Whispers of Vengeance

The night was thick with tension as Ochieng and his crew prepared for the raid. The air smelled of gasoline and gunpowder, a perfect blend of destruction waiting to be unleashed.

Lucy adjusted her earpiece. "The shipment is moving. We have a ten-minute window."

Ochieng's grip on his knife tightened. "Then let's make every second count."

The plan was simple—strike fast, leave no witnesses. But with Walter involved, nothing was ever simple.

The Glowtune convoy moved in a tight formation, armored SUVs guarding a black truck in the center. Ochieng, Victoria, Jeff, and Paul positioned themselves at a high vantage point, overlooking the highway.

Victoria loaded her rifle, a cruel smirk on her lips. "I've been waiting for this."

Ochieng raised a hand. "Wait for my signal."

Below, the vehicles slowed at a security checkpoint—exactly as planned. That was when the first explosion ripped through the night. Flames shot into the sky as one of the SUVs flipped over. Chaos erupted.

Ochieng and his team descended like shadows.

Jeff took out two guards before they could react. Paul yanked the truck driver from his seat, slamming him against the hood. Victoria's rifle rang out, taking down a runner before he could warn the others.

Ochieng made his way to the back of the truck and kicked the doors open.

Inside were crates of cash, weapons… and a single restrained prisoner.

The prisoner looked up, blood dripping from his temple. "You're too late."

Ochieng's heart stopped.

"What do you mean?"

The prisoner smirked. "Walter knew you'd come. This was never about the shipment. This was about you."

A sudden gunshot rang through the air.

Lucy's panicked voice came through the earpiece. "It's a trap! They knew we were coming!"

Ochieng turned just as the second explosion hit.

Everything went black.
