Chapter 303: Shadows Beneath the Moonlight

The city lights stretched endlessly beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows of Lunar Crest Penthouse, the most expensive residence in the nation. The room was silent except for the rhythmic ticking of a gold-plated clock.

Ochieng stood by the balcony, his hands in his pockets, gazing down at the city that now bent to his will. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of the night, but his mind was elsewhere—buried in the ghosts of his past.

Behind him, Linet poured two glasses of aged Xifeng wine, her delicate fingers tracing the rim of the glass. "You should celebrate," she murmured, stepping closer.

Ochieng exhaled slowly. "Celebrate?" He took the glass but didn't drink. "The Yun Clan is finished, but the war isn't over."

Linet leaned against the marble counter, watching him. "You found out something, didn't you?"

He turned, eyes cold. "It wasn't just Yun Cheng. There's someone else pulling the strings."

Linet's grip on her glass tightened. "Who?"

Before Ochieng could answer, his phone buzzed.

He glanced at the screen—an unknown number.

Answering it, he remained silent. A distorted voice crackled through the line.

"You think you've won, Ochieng?"

His eyes darkened. "I don't think. I know."

A low chuckle followed. "Then let's see how long your little empire lasts."

The call disconnected.

Linet frowned. "What was that?"

Ochieng set his glass down and straightened his sleeves. "The beginning of something bigger."

Just then, a sharp knock sounded at the penthouse door.

Jeff entered, his expression grim. "Boss, we have a problem."

Ochieng didn't need to ask. He already knew.

The shadows of the past were creeping closer, and this time, they wouldn't stop until everything he built was reduced to ashes.
