Chapter 7:The Cabin in the Woods

Mia's eyes widened as she took in the surroundings of the cabin. The trees towered above her, casting long shadows in the fading light. She felt a sense of unease wash over her, and her heart began to beat faster.

Asher smiled, noticing her reaction. "Don't worry, Mia. This is a safe place. We'll be okay here."

Mia nodded, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She took a deep breath and followed Asher into the cabin.

The cabin was small, but it was cozy and well-appointed. There was a fireplace in the center of the room, and Asher lit a fire to warm the space.

Mia sat down on a nearby couch, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She was exhausted from the journey, and the warmth of the fire was soothing.

Asher sat down beside her, his eyes scanning the room. "We'll be safe here for a while," he said. "But we need to be careful. We don't know who might be following us."

Mia nodded, feeling a sense of fear creeping in. She didn't know what was going on, or who was after her. But she knew that she had to trust Asher.

As the night wore on, Mia began to feel more relaxed. The fire was warm, and the cabin was cozy. She started to feel like she was in a different world, one where she could escape the dangers that lurked outside.

But as she looked at Asher, Mia saw a glimmer of concern in his eyes. He was watching her, his gaze intense.

"What is it?" Mia asked, feeling a sense of unease.

Asher hesitated, then spoke in a low voice. "I think we're not alone, Mia. I think someone is watching us."

Mia's heart skipped a beat. Who was watching them? And what did they want?

Asher stood up, his eyes scanning the room. "I need to check the perimeter," he said. "Stay here, and don't move."

Mia nodded, feeling a sense of fear wash over her. She watched as Asher left the cabin, his footsteps quiet in the stillness of the night.

The fire crackled and spat, casting flickering shadows on the walls. Mia felt a sense of unease, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.

Suddenly, she heard a noise outside. It was a faint rustling sound, followed by the snap of a twig.

Mia's heart began to beat faster. What was it? And who was making the noise?

She stood up, her eyes scanning the room. The fire was still burning, but the shadows seemed to be moving.

Mia took a step forward, her senses on high alert. She was ready to defend herself, no matter what was happening.

But as she reached the window, Mia saw something that made her blood run cold. A figure was standing outside, watching her.

Mia's heart skipped a beat. Who was it? And what did they want?

The figure didn't move, but Mia could sense its presence. She felt a sense of fear wash over her, and she knew that she had to act fast.

She turned and ran back to the couch, her heart pounding in her chest. She grabbed a nearby blanket and wrapped it around herself, trying to calm her racing thoughts.

But as she looked around the room, Mia knew that she wasn't safe. The figure outside was watching her, and she had to find a way to protect herself.

Asher walked back into the cabin, his eyes scanning the room. "What is it?" he asked, noticing Mia's fear.

Mia pointed to the window. "There's someone outside," she whispered. "They're watching me."

Asher's expression turned serious. "Get down," he said, pulling Mia to the floor.

Mia crouched beside Asher, her heart racing. What was happening? And who was outside?

Asher peeked out the window, his eyes scanning the darkness. "I don't see anyone," he said. "But we need to be careful."

Mia nodded, feeling a sense of unease. She knew that she wasn't safe, and that she had to trust Asher to protect her.

As the night wore on, Mia felt a sense of tension building inside her. She knew that she was in danger, and that she had to be careful.

But as she looked at Asher, Mia saw a glimmer of determination in his eyes. He was going to protect her, no matter what.

And with that knowledge, Mia felt a sense of relief wash over her. She knew that she was in good hands, and that she would be safe.

But as the hours ticked by, Mia couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. She kept looking over her shoulder, expecting to see someone lurking in the shadows
