The next morning.
The faint rays of the morning sun filtered through the gaps in the curtains, illuminating the faces of the two people lying in bed.
Rin Tohsaka lay on her side, her snow-white shoulder exposed as she clung tightly to Kaito like an octopus. The slight furrow in her brows hinted at the intensity of last night's "battle."
"Tap tap."
The bedroom door suddenly creaked open.
Both of them stirred awake, still groggy.
"Tap tap."
Another knock sounded.
Kaito glanced suspiciously at Rin in his arms.
Wasn't it just the two of them in the Tohsaka household?
Rin, still not fully awake, hadn't opened her eyes yet.
But then, a sweet voice called from outside the door.
"Sister, I'm coming in."
In an instant, Rin's eyes shot open.
She jolted awake.
"Wait—"
She tried to sit up quickly, but a sharp pain made her gasp and cut off her words.
Moving too fast had aggravated her soreness.
"What's wrong?" Kaito asked, puzzled.
Rin shot him a glare full of resentment.
You have the nerve to ask?
Last night, who was it that made me do squats on the bed, promising to stop by midnight, only to keep going until dawn?
Men's promises are all lies!
She would never believe this scoundrel's sweet talk again!
"It's fine," Kaito said, sitting up and pulling her into his arms. "We're not some illicit couple. It's no big deal if she comes in."
At that moment, the bedroom door creaked open.
Rin froze.
Kaito, however, casually looked toward the door and saw a girl with the same black hair and blue eyes as Rin standing there.
The girl wore a white shirt with a yellow vest and a pleated skirt—likely her school uniform, as if she had just returned from class.
Her appearance was strikingly similar to Rin's, but unlike her sister, this girl exuded a gentle, kind demeanor that made her seem like a well-behaved and considerate young lady.
And...
Her chest, which strained against the otherwise plain school uniform, was far more developed than one would expect for a girl her age.
Kaito couldn't help but glance at Rin in his arms.
You're a year older than her.
How is the difference this big?
"This...?" Sakura Tohsaka's eyes widened as she took in the scene of Kaito shirtless in bed, holding her sister.
"Sister, who is this?"
"I-I'll explain later, Sakura. Can you wait outside for now?"
"Oh, okay."
Once the door closed again, Kaito couldn't help but ask, "Your sister wasn't adopted by the Matou family?"
"No. Father originally planned to send Sakura to the Matou family, but something came up," Rin explained, then gave Kaito a curious look. "How do you know about that?"
Kaito didn't answer.
Instead, he asked, "Want to take a bath together?"
Rin rolled her eyes.
Her response was succinct.
"Get lost!"
In the end, Kaito didn't get to take a bath with Rin.
Mostly because he was worried that bathing together might lead to things getting... messier.
After a quick shower, Kaito left the room and headed downstairs.
In the living room, he saw a figure bustling around in the open kitchen.
"You're Rin's sister, right?"
Sakura, who was preparing breakfast, looked up at Kaito as he walked in.
She smiled and brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "Yes, I'm Sakura Tohsaka. I'm a year younger than my sister and in my third year at an all-girls middle school."
Then, she looked at Kaito with curiosity. "Are you my sister's boyfriend?"
"You could say that. I'm Kaito Sora."
When Sakura mentioned she was in her third year of middle school, Kaito couldn't help but glance at her chest, which was straining against her uniform.
His lips twitched.
You're telling me this is a middle schooler?
Kaito walked over to Sakura and saw that she was cutting tofu.
"Need any help?"
"No, it's okay. I'll be done soon," Sakura replied.
"I'm actually pretty good with a knife," Kaito said.
Sakura smiled, seemingly about to say something, but then hesitated. Instead, she said, "Then, could you teach me, Kaito-kun? I'm not very good with knives."
"Sure, no problem."
Kaito stepped into the kitchen, intending to take the knife from Sakura and demonstrate his skills.
But when he reached for the knife, Sakura didn't hand it over. Instead, she looked at him.
"Kaito-kun, aren't you going to hold my hand to teach me?"
"Huh?"
"In our cooking class at school, our teacher always holds our hands to guide us."
Kaito didn't think much of it and stood behind Sakura.
If it were Rin, he would have wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed himself against her.
But this was Sakura.
Although Kaito had ambitions of building a harem, he maintained a respectful distance, placing his hands on the counter and keeping his body away from hers.
His right hand, however, covered Sakura's small hand as it held the knife.
His large hand enveloped hers, gripping the knife's handle.
Her hand was soft and smooth—softer than her sister's, with a bit more plumpness.
"Watch closely."
Kaito began cutting the tofu.
With a few swift motions, the block of tofu was sliced into dozens of perfectly even pieces.
"Kaito-kun, you're amazing!" Sakura exclaimed softly.
Hearing her praise felt even better than making Rin beg for mercy last night.
If only Sakura would call him "brother-in-law," it would be perfect.
"But don't try to cut this fast yourself," Kaito advised. "Take it slow, or you might hurt your fingers."
"I understand," Sakura nodded. "Do you like spicy food and mapo tofu, Kaito-kun?"
"I do, actually."
"Then let's cut another block of tofu."
This time, Kaito demonstrated a slower cutting technique.
But as they continued, Kaito noticed something odd.
Their distance seemed to be closing.
Sakura's back was now pressed against him, and her hips swayed slightly with each cut.
As everyone knows, friction generates heat.
Kaito frowned and subtly shifted half a step back.
He was sure he hadn't moved forward.
Although he had some interest in Sakura, he wasn't so desperate that he couldn't resist this level of temptation.
So then...
"Kaito-kun?"
"I was just thinking. Let's keep going."
Kaito maintained a bit more distance and continued guiding Sakura's hand as they cut the tofu.
This time, the distance didn't close again.
Kaito decided not to overthink it. Once the tofu was cut, he left the kitchen.
Just as he was about to watch some TV, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," Kaito called out to Sakura before heading to the door.
When he opened it, a petite figure suddenly jumped into view.
"Ohayou, Onii-chan!"
