Season 1: Rise of the Villain
Episode 8: Assembling an Army
The escape had gone smoother than expected, but Damien knew this was only the beginning. Breaking Nikolai out of Blackhaven Penitentiary was just step one—now came the real challenge.
Salazar wasn't just any crime lord; he was a strategist, a man who had spent years weaving himself into the city's foundations. The Black Vultures had men in the police force, politicians in their pockets, and killers in every dark alley.
To take him down, Damien needed an army.
The Iron Fangs were scattered, leaderless since Nikolai's imprisonment. Some had gone into hiding, while others had been absorbed by the Vultures. If they were going to be useful, Damien and Nikolai had to reunite them.
Their first target was an old warehouse on the docks, where a faction of ex-Fangs operated under the command of a man named Raul Vega. He was ruthless, running weapons and drugs with the efficiency of a warlord. But he wasn't loyal to anyone except himself.
As Damien and Nikolai approached the warehouse, two heavily armed guards blocked their path.
"Turn around," one of them growled. "This is Vega's territory."
Nikolai stepped forward, cracking his knuckles. "Not anymore."
Before the guard could react, Nikolai grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the wall, knocking him out instantly. Damien took care of the other one with a swift knife to the leg, forcing him to his knees.
They stormed inside, guns drawn. Dozens of men turned, reaching for their weapons, but when they saw Nikolai, a tense silence filled the room.
Vega sat at the head of a table, feet propped up, a cigar between his fingers. He didn't look surprised.
"I heard you broke out," Vega said, exhaling smoke. "Didn't think you'd come knocking so soon."
Nikolai smirked. "I'm taking back what's mine."
Vega chuckled. "And who's your new friend?"
Damien stepped forward. "The man who's going to give you something better than survival."
Vega raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And what's that?"
"Revenge."
The room fell silent.
Damien continued, his voice calm but lethal. "Salazar betrayed me, just like he betrayed the Iron Fangs years ago. He played us all. I'm taking him down, and I need soldiers who want payback."
Vega studied him, then glanced at Nikolai. "And if I say no?"
Nikolai grinned. "Then I break your legs and take your men anyway."
A tense pause. Then Vega laughed. A real, amused laugh.
"You've got balls," he admitted. "Alright, Cross. You want an army? You've got one."
Damien had just secured his first wave of soldiers.
The war against Salazar had officially begun.
To be continued...
