Running After Dinner Gives You a Dropped Stomach!

"Torchic, dinner's ready!"

Su Feng wiped the sweat from his forehead and called out to Torchic, who was playing with Greninja at the campsite. He had no idea how a Fire-type and a Water-type Pokémon managed to get along.

Tonight's dinner was grilled fish again—no special reason, just because Torchic loved his cooking.

"Chirp!"

Torchic scampered toward Su Feng with joyful hops, its adorable,憨厚 appearance flooding the chat with comments like "RIP my heart" and "Too cute!"

"Here, this is yours."

Su Feng placed the largest plate of grilled fish in front of Torchic. Since the fish were all caught by Torchic, it deserved the best share.

Originally, Su Feng had planned to catch regular fish for himself, but to his surprise, the system shop didn't sell regular fishing gear! The system's explanation was:

[*I'm a Pokémon system. It's only logical I don't sell ordinary fishing rods.*]

Thinking about this still made Su Feng's eye twitch.

The aroma of grilled fish wafted through the forest, drawing curious Pokémon to observe from a distance. But when they spotted Greninja nearby, they quickly scattered. No one wanted to risk angering the apex predator for a snack.

Well, a Snorlax might, but there were none around.

As Su Feng and Torchic devoured their meal, Su Feng noticed Greninja perched on a branch nearby, standing guard like a sentinel.

"...This bodyguard is way too dedicated."

Su Feng sighed, then filled another plate with leftover fish. He walked quietly to the tree where Greninja stood and waved. "Greninja, if you don't mind, have some too."

Greninja glanced down at Su Feng and the plate, then leaped soundlessly from the branch.

"Gra."

It pointed at its stomach.

"No need to be polite. Eat up—there's more if you want," Su Feng replied with a smile.

Greninja: "..."

It had meant to say it wasn't hungry. But after eyeing the perfectly grilled fish, Greninja hesitated briefly before accepting the plate.

*Might as well eat now. Saves me from hunting later.*

"Come back for seconds if you're still hungry. Just return the plate, okay?"

Su Feng added, mentally noting how much those plates had cost him in points. Losing even one would sting.

*Cheapskate Su Feng strikes again.*

"Gra."

Greninja waved dismissively.

By the time Su Feng returned to the tent, Torchic had already polished off its entire plate and was sprawled lazily on a sleeping bag, half-asleep.

"You really went to town, huh?" Su Feng muttered.

Remembering the fiercely determined Torchic that once trained until it bled, and comparing it to this lazy, eat-sleep-play version, Su Feng frowned.

"No. I can't let you slack off like this."

*Complacency breeds ruin.* That truth applied everywhere.

"TORCHIC!!"

"Chirp-chirp-CHIRP?!"

Su Feng's sudden shout jolted Torchic awake, sending it leaping off the sleeping bag. The explosion of noise also startled half the drowsy直播间 audience.

[***!!! My phone!]

[Dude, what the heck was that?!]

[I was about to fall asleep, dropped my phone on my face, and now I'm wide awake. Thanks.]

[If that wasn't intentional, I'll eat my hat.]

[My son can't write…]

[Oh, you wanna play like that? Sleep with one eye open tonight!]

Ignoring the chat, Su Feng pressed on. "Aren't you supposed to become the strongest Torchic? To prove yourself to your family? Look at you now!"

"Chirp…"

Torchic stared at its round belly, then at Su Feng, before suddenly snapping to its senses.

*What's wrong with me? I was never this lazy when I was alone.*

Had comfort made it soft?

Torchic shook off its drowsiness, ignored Su Feng, and bolted out of the tent.

"Torchic!" Su Feng called after it, but all he saw was a retreating背影.

Su Feng: "..."

"Did I go too far?" he muttered.

[LOL, you messed up!]

[Go after it, streamer! It's running away!]

[Based on my parrots that all flew off, Torchic's gone for good.]

[Yeah… you kinda yelled like a maniac.]

Su Feng: "..."

Despite the chat urging him to chase Torchic, Su Feng shook his head.

"No need. Torchic will come back. It just had a wake-up call."

"Besides, if I can't trust my own Pokémon, what kind of trainer am I?"

[Dang, that was low-key cool.]

[NGL, that line was kinda badass.]

[AHHH! Streamer, I'm here for your looks!]

[My son can't write…]

"To the 'my son can't write' guy—I've had enough of you." Su Feng gritted his teeth. "You better hope I never find you, or you're in for a world of hurt!"

Su Feng stepped outside to wait. True to his word, ten minutes later, Torchic came sprinting back.

"Chir… chirp…"

Panting heavily, Torchic tried to dart past Su Feng, but he scooped it up first.

"Easy, easy. I get it, but you can't exercise right after eating. You'll get a dropped stomach!"

"Chir?" Torchic tilted its head, confused.

[Here it is! The head tilt of doom!]

[Where's that "RIP my heart" guy? We need backup!]

[Torchic came back! Streamer, I always believed in you.]

[Hey, weren't you the one whose parrots all flew away…]

[Don't expose me, bro!]

Ignoring the chat, Su Feng gently added, "If you want to get stronger, I'll support you 100%. But remember—train smart. And you can always rely on me. I'm your trainer."
