The Life of the Blacksmith Scott Walton part 2

"What the hell was that?"

Scott regained his past memories, and he couldn't help but break into a cold sweat, letting out a curse of disbelief.

From that day on, he became an observer, continuing to participate in the development of the dream world. Although he had not yet broken free, he was now absolutely certain that this was all a dream. Within it, countless mysteries puzzled him.

The dream world unfolded at an accelerating pace. It was like a crystal railway train moving at blinding speed, slowing down only at critical moments, allowing Scott to see its details clearly.

Year 43: Scott Walton became the youngest branch leader in the history of the Iron Sovereignty Guild.

Year 44: He forged a mid-tier magical hammer, The Emperor's Wrath, and used it to behead the Hundred-Fanged Lion, a mid-level magical beast.

Year 45: Scott Walton represented the Iron Sovereignty Guild in a grand tournament. Using the power of his unique mighty hammer, he defeated many outstanding competitors. He crushed 100 of his opponents' weapons in a row, earning the title The Furious Hammer Bearer and solidifying his status as an unrivaled blacksmith among all sovereign guilds.

Year 55: Scott Walton became a high-level sorcerer, placing him among the world's elite. That same year, magical beasts invaded once again—but this time, they were fiercer than ever. Hundreds of important guild members fell.

The situation was dire, and the current guild leader, the great Fitzgerald, was away on a mysterious journey. In his absence, Scott Walton was elected as the new leader of the Iron Sovereignty Guild.

Under his leadership, the Iron Sovereignty Guild transformed into a massive weapon-forging powerhouse, steadily producing exceptional arms for the righteous guilds.

Year 71: Scott Walton slaughtered an uncountable number of magical beasts, gaining a notorious reputation for his relentless monster hunting.

By this time, no one called him Grandmaster or Guild Leader anymore.

Everyone addressed him as The Monster-Slaying Blacksmith.

Year 73: Su Baria gave birth to Scott Walton's child, bringing him immense joy. It was as if a new chapter had begun. With his family by his side once more, he found a greater reason to live. Although he never forgot his past grudges, he now had a stronger purpose.

Year 96: The name Monster-Slaying Blacksmith spread across all the higher dimensions. Even beings from the far shore of the Cosmic Sea—travelers from unknown realms millions of kilometers away—risked being swallowed by the raging chaos of the primordial void, all just to cross worlds using ancient transmission systems and reach the Great Sovereignty World… for the chance to obtain a magical weapon forged by him.

Year 100: A mysterious, immensely powerful magical beast stormed the Iron Sovereignty Guild. No record had ever mentioned a beast like it before. It annihilated 80% of the guild's members, including Scott Walton's second wife, Su Baria, and all of their children.

Scott Walton roared with hatred, tears of anguish streaming down his face as he cradled his wife's lifeless body. Her last words echoed in his ears:

"Please… live happily, for me, for us."

His tears continued to fall, and he could do nothing but hold his wife and children's corpses in utter despair.

Year 180… Year 350… Year 685…

At last…

Year 700.

"Guild Leader! Monster-Slaying Blacksmith! Please, my lord, reconsider! Time travel is absolutely impossible! You are the last pillar supporting our Iron Sovereignty Guild. You must not take such a reckless risk!"

Scott gazed upon the colossal palace hall, its grandeur veiled in mist and clouds. Over 100,000 sorcerers knelt simultaneously, bowing toward the Monster-Slaying Blacksmith, pleading endlessly. The sound of hammers striking metal echoed throughout the vast chamber.

Scott Walton, with his long, thick black hair and beard, and his powerful physique, still as robust as ever despite the passing centuries, stood solemnly at the center of an enormous, mysterious teleportation array. With a casual flick of his sleeve, he spoke indifferently:

"The universe holds countless dimensions… countless unexplored, enigmatic eras. The true essence of magic is to uncover the infinite mysteries of the cosmos. I stumbled upon fate itself and, by chance, created something capable of traversing time—The Timeflow Array. Even if the possibility remains uncertain, I must test it. I must discover whether I can truly cross the farthest reaches of time."

He paused for a moment. Slowly, his gaze swept across the people within the grand palace hall. His face bore a deep sorrow. Then, he spoke again:

"My disciples… my friends… there is no need for further words. If there is one thing I desire above all else, it is to return to the past. I have studied every artifact in this world, and I have no regrets. Even if I fail to return, even if I fail to bring back those I love… I only hope that, in the distant future, across the far shore of time, in this world centuries from now, new artifacts will exist that bring people even the slightest joy. After all, this is the duty of blacksmiths—to make life easier for others."

His voice left nothing unsaid. The Monster-Slaying Blacksmith had already activated the Timeflow Array. A column of dazzling light erupted from the depths of the mysterious transmission system, enveloping him.

A massive flood of essence energy surged within the beam, like a raging tide spreading in all directions. Everyone in the grand palace trembled before the overwhelming torrent of mana. The mages barely managed to conjure protective barriers to shield themselves.

But the mana… it was boundless. It kept growing, expanding, stretching. It was as if the mana had transformed into a legendary beast baring its fangs.

"No… this isn't good. The teleportation system is absorbing the surrounding mana in an endless stream, turning into a chaotic surge of energy. It could explode at any moment!"

"Something went wrong with the transmission system! Everyone, evacuate immediately! Run!"

"No… we can't escape in time! Quickly, deploy magical barriers! Use the strongest artifacts to withstand it!"

"AAAAAHHH!!"

The last thing Scott saw was a vast, expanding sphere of brilliant white light—like an ocean raging into a storm. It engulfed the entire palace, the hundreds of floating mountains beyond, and even the vast sea below.

And at the very moment Scott witnessed the luminous sphere stretch to its limit…

He woke up.

In the Era of Arcane Glory, in the Federal Republic, in the outskirts of Vast Sea City, in the residential district of Streak Zone, in his own home—

Scott sat up suddenly in bed.
