The cavern was collapsing.
Vorr'gol's hunger rippled through the air, an unseen weight pressing into their bones. The ground twisted beneath their feet, shifting like a thing alive.
The bindings were broken. The chains lay shattered.
Vorr'gol was pulling itself free.
And they had seconds to act.
The Realization – They Can Seal It, But Not Kill It
Arlan's hands shook, not from fear, but from recognition.
He could see the magic unraveling.
The seal had been old, carved by hands far stronger than theirs. It wasn't just a physical restraint.
It was a siphon.
A prison designed not just to hold Vorr'gol, but to drain it.
That was why the Vairlith had been so desperate. They hadn't just been breaking chains.
They'd been restoring Vorr'gol's strength.
Mira noticed his expression. "What? What do you see?"
Arlan exhaled sharply. "The seal—" He gestured at the crumbling runes. "It wasn't just keeping it locked up. It was keeping it weak. If we reinforce it—if we force its energy to collapse inward instead of outward—"
Tomas gripped his sword. "We can shove it back inside."
Mira looked at the runes, then at the pulsing pit. "That means overloading the remaining sigils."
Arlan nodded. "And binding it with whatever magic we have left."
Leila gritted her teeth. "Sounds risky."
Beren cracked his knuckles. "Sounds like our only damn option."
Tomas raised his shield. "Then let's end this."
Keeping Vorr'gol Contained
Mira slams her staff down.
Flames surge outward, igniting the binding sigils.
Arlan casts a necrotic mist, twisting the decaying runes back into place.
Tomas and Beren push forward, cutting down the last of the Vairlith still trying to disrupt the ritual.
Leila fires a Phantom Arrow directly at Vorr'gol's claw.
It phases through, hitting a still-intact chain binding it.
The chain tightens—forcing the limb back slightly.
The cavern shakes violently.
Vorr'gol roars—not in pain, but in frustration.
Its claws scrape against the stone.
The binding runes flare to life.
The pit begins to swallow itself.
Vorr'gol is Contained – The System Update
The sigils lock into place.
The pit shrinks inward—Vorr'gol is dragged back down.
The cavern itself collapses, sealing the ancient god away once more.
A system notification appears.
SYSTEM UPDATE
The A-Rank Dungeon Boss has been re-sealed.You have prevented its awakening, but the enemy remains.Partial rewards granted.
The group stares at the notification in shock.
Beren: "A-RANK?! Those Ogryn and Vairlith Couldn't have been more than D-Rank, and you're telling me that thing was A-Rank?!"
Mira lets out a breathless laugh. "That's impossible. A dungeon boss can't be that much stronger than its original monsters."
Tomas wipes sweat from his forehead, shaking his head. "We weren't meant to fight it. This dungeon wasn't built for a real battle against that thing."
Leila exhales, lowering her bow. "And yet, somehow, we're still here."
Arlan, still staring at the sealed pit, whispers, "Barely."
Arrival in the Treasure Room
Before anyone could say anything else, the ground shifted beneath them.
A pulse of magic rippled outward, spreading from the newly sealed pit.
Light flared.
For a moment, the world blurred.
Then—darkness.
The Treasury of the Sealed One
When their vision cleared, they were somewhere else.
A vast stone chamber stretched before them, the air thick with dust and lingering enchantments.
Torches ignited automatically, casting a warm glow across the space.
And then, they saw it—
Treasure.
Piles of gold and silver coins, scattered across the floor. Stacks of jewels, relics, and forgotten artifacts, glinting in the flickering light.
At the far end of the chamber, five pedestals stood waiting.
One for each of them.
Mira groaned. "Let me guess. We each get one pick?"
Leila rubbed her temples. "System loves its theatrics."
Beren grinned, stretching. "Hey, I'm not complaining."
Tomas stepped forward, eyes scanning the room.
"Let's see what we earned."
