I KNOW YOUR SECRETS

Kozette walked out of the bathroom, towel wrapped around her body and her hands with another towel to dry her damp hair.

"Where are we going to today?" She asked naturally.

"I guess..." Hallie scrolled down her phone, "We are going to shop today?" She pursed her lips as she stared back at Kozette seriously.

"What did your parents say about that?"

Kozette gulped. "Nothing." She said.

"That could destroy your whole life and they said nothing?"

"You asked me not to do anything about it for now, Hallie and that's exactly what I'm doing. Lying low and I'm trying to do that quietly." She muttered.

"I still haven't gotten the person who sent the video to you. I tried to get the number but it was connected to a person at India. So I sent it it to someone better." Hallie said and Kozette looked at her interestingly.

"Who?"

"Just someone involved in tech matters. You don't necessarily have to concern yourself with that. Once he sends it back to me, I'll inform you of the next plan. Till then..." Hallie walked towards the bathroom, "Lie more lower and don't get drunk. Also know that you owe me one."

"But I'm trying to protect you!"

"You are trying to protect yourself, Kozette. I keep my secrets well. You are the one who spilled yours." She shrugged as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

After having her bath, Hallie walked out to meet the others already at the dining table.

There was only one seat left and unfortunately, her eyes narrowed, it was beside Logan. He smirked at her lightly and patted the chair, inviting her to seat.

"You guys don't have to pretend like you are really in love here. We know the truth." Marlo scoffed.

"You don't, Marlo." Hallie scoffed lightly.

"Hmm hmm." Marlo let go of his sandwich as he relaxed back on the chair. "You and Logan almost always disagree with each other on almost every single thing. Is that love?"

Logan placed his hand on the table to look at Hallie and she shook her head, focusing on Marlo.

"No, it isn't. It's business."

"Business?" Logan asked.

"Yes. This is just something between our families... isn't it?" Hallie asked him as a reply. He rolled his eyes, turning back to his food.

"So, you see. We all know. You guys make the headlines every time you hold hands in public. The legendary Logan Alston who doesn't feel for anyone and the beautiful, country princess, Hallie Torre. Just like you make the headlines now, I wonder what would happen when Edna's death is revealed."

The table suddenly became silent as Hallie's fingers tightly wrapped on her knife and fork. She raised her eyes to look at Marlo silently and everyone stared at her, mainly Jerald.

"Get out from the table, Marlo." Gary was totally pissed off. "You are ruining breakfast."

"Why don't we just talk about it here....now. It's a secret which we keep together, let's address it."

"Address it? What do you want to address? The murder? Or the fact that it is a secret? What do you even have to address when you don't really care!?" Hallie shot.

"Exactly this attitude of yours, Hallie." Noel shot as he kept his fork on the plate.

"You act like we were the one who committed the special sin of murder and not you." He said.

Jerald's lips curved upwards in slight amusement as he relaxed backwards to watch the whole drama passively.

Meanwhile, Kozette's fingers were entangled in each other as she kept picking on them... silently..... nervously.

Hallie's breath was ragged as she stared at Noel, a sweat trickling down her back.

"Then don't address anything. We were fine until Marlo started talking about it." She said.

"That's not it, Hallie. We are not fine. Sometimes, you flare up I'm class like what you did two days ago and those times, I think you act like Edna. You act like the victim."

Her chest tightened. Her breathing got slower. They couldn't possibly...

"Let's be sincere about it. Jerald was Edna's best friend and he is keeping this secret fine..infact, better than you are. Why? Because he knows how dangerous this can be for all of us. So you do the same."

Hallie gritted her teeth so hard and her hands stretched on the table so tight that her knuckles went white.

She looked up at him with fierce eyes. "Fine. I won't make such mistakes again. I have a movie coming up soon and I can't bear to lose the spotlight or turn it for something bad."

They all stared at her. Not a word.

"What!? Isn't that what you wanted!?"

"You've really changed." Marlo shook his head, "You never agree that you make mistakes."

"How did that suddenly become the point?" She asked.

"It's just more proof that we don't trust you." Noel said and she rolled her eyes silently at him.

"She agreed to her mistake and said she'd make changes, that's enough." Logan shut them up with a light glare and they all concentrated back on their food.

"It's very funny, guys." Jerald suddenly spoke and the table became tense again. "It's funny how Edna's supposedly poor life change yours now. It will hunt you down and destroy your glorious future."

Glorious.

Pure sarcasm.

Not a single person failed to hear that.

"Je-"

Pings of messages shut Noel up and all of them checked their phones quickly.

Marlo's face went white with horror.

"It's happening. It's happening, Hallie!" Kozette shot, alarmed. "Keeping quiet did no shit!"

Hallie stared at her phone.

The photo written in red blood.

"I KNOW YOUR SECRETS."
