A new beginning?

Ren's fingers brushed over the cool metal of the morgue table. The sensation was sharp, it was real, it was proof he wasn't dreaming.

He knew his name, Aaron but he had to be called Ren.

A slow smile curled up his lips, it was cold and knowing.

He Aaron....or Ren would never be the same as helpless Ren.

He would help this body get revenge.

Ren's heart raced, but his mind was already adjusting. He had been reincarnated.. or was it transmigration.

Either who, he had been given a second chance.

This body was now his, and weakness didn't suit him. He knew that, from the memories that flashed by, he had been powerful. Feared. Untouchable. And now? He was in the body of a boy who had been nothing but a stain on his family's honor.

Ren scoffed softly. How pathetic.

The mechanical voice chimed again, interrupting his inner monologue.

[Reverse Harem System successfully bound.]

[Host has awakened as an Esper. All psychic abilities unlocked.]

[Host body has been optimized to match peak combat efficiency.]

Ren felt a sudden rush of energy flood through him. it was intoxicating...like fire igniting in his veins. His senses felt sharper, he felt his strength surge, and a cool awareness settled in his mind.

Power.

It was his again.

Ren flexed his fingers, testing his abilities. With a mere thought, the lights flickered violently before exploding, plunging the room into total darkness. A smile curled on his lips.

This was too easy, almost like he'd been doing this his entire life.

He stood up and walked out of the room, his reflection caught his eyes in the glass like window of the room opposite the morgue, and for the first time, he took in his appearance.

This wasn't how he was supposed to look.

He had pale skin, smooth as untouched porcelain. Ethereal silver hair that shimmered under the dim emergency lights. Deep hypnotic eyes that carried an unnatural glow, it looked like galaxies swirling in endless nights. Every feature was sculpted to perfection, drawing the eye like an irresistible force.

The original Ren Vaelcrest had been ordinary, his presence forgettable. But this Ren? This Ren was....

"Er, Reverse Harem System.. why do I look like this?" His voice sounded hoarse.

[Oh, this is your original appearance, it is mandatory to take on the appearance of the most beautiful of the two bodies.]

Oh, how shallow.

Well beauty is power.

He wondered if people in his previous life had been obsessed with him?

The sound of footsteps echoed down the hall, sharp against the morgue's sterile floors, breaking him out of his train of thoughts. Ren turned his head towards the door of the room he had been in, his expression unreadable.

Time to leave.

With a flicker of thought, his body vanished from that spot, teleportation activating as effortlessly as breathing.

The cold night air brushed against Ren's skin as he reappeared in a dark alleyway near the hospital.

The city stretched before him, illuminated by neon signs and floating transport. Towering skyscrapers that pierced through the clouds, it was a mixture of modern technology and aristocracy.

This world was different from the one he had come from, but power still ruled. Here strength was everything.

Ren exhaled softly, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. He didn't need to think too hard about what to do next.

Survive. Grow stronger. And take what was meant to belong to him....or Ren.

For now, he'd forget about who he was and live as Ren.

Before he could make his next move, a deep voice cut through the silence.

"You lost, kid?"

Ren turned his head, his gaze landing on a man standing at the entrance of the alley.

Tall. Broad-shouldered. Dressed in a sleek black suit that screamed of class and wealth. His features were sharp, and his presence felt overwhelming, an aura of power clinging to him like a second skin.

But what stood out the most to Ren were his eyes, it was a piercing gold, filled with amusement, and something else.

Ren met his gaze without hesitation, his expression was unreadable.

He didn't recognize this stranger, but he could feel the weight of his presence. This kind of man probably did what he wanted without asking for permission, and didn't ask questions twice.

A predator.

And Ren?

He wasn't a prey... or was he?

"System am I prey?"

[No. But you'll have to act like one on certain occasion.]

Okay, he wasn't prey. Luckily, he knew when to act and when to observe. Right now? He could play along.

"I suppose I am," Ren said smoothly, his voice was light but distant. "It's my first time here."

The man raised a brow, clearly entertained by the response. He took a step closer, the golden glow of his eyes standing out against the darkness.

"First time?" he echoed, his gaze sweeping over Ren's form. "You don't look like a street rat, but you don't belong here either."

Ren tilted his head. "What do I look like, then?"

A smirk unfolded on the man's lips. "You look like you're lost, or running from something."

Hmm.

I was running from the hospital earlier, and I am indeed lost...

Well, he's smart, I guess.

Ren didn't respond, simply watching the man. He didn't know how, but he could tell this man wasn't some rich aristocrats, he carried himself with complete confidence, his looked like he was full of power. Ren shifted his head slightly, watching people back out the alley and going another way when they saw the man.

Hmmm.... he should be wealthy, dangerous, respected, feared.

And most of all....he looked useful.

The man studied Ren for a long moment before clicking his tongue. "Tch. Doesn't matter." He turned slightly, gesturing over his shoulder. "Come with me."

Ren arched a brow. "And why would I do that?"

The man chuckled, it was deep and low. "Because I told you to."

Ren stared at him, unimpressed, making the man laugh.

"Please? Would that make you come with me?"
