Chapter 7: Hela
"Likewise. It's a pleasure to speak with you. I am Hela. As you've already guessed, I am a god,"
Hela replied while sipping her tea. She had developed a liking for food after coming to this world, so she didn't dislike this kind of treatment.
They both drank their tea in silence for a while. Eventually, Noir decided to lead the conversation.
"So, shall we start our Q&A?" he said with a small chuckle.
"Surely. So, should I ask first, or would you like to take the chance?" Hela asked. She found the humor of this young god rather charming.
"Then I'll graciously ask. So…" He paused for a second, leaning slightly on his invisible throne. "Why are you in this world?"
Hela flinched at the question. She hadn't expected him to guess that she didn't belong here. She tried to play it off at first.
"Oh! I've descended into this world just out of curiosity. Nothing much."
Noir simply looked at her calmly, not acknowledging the answer.
Realizing she couldn't fool him, Hela decided to tell the truth. It wasn't like he could do anything about it anyway.
"Sigh… Okay. So, I came to this place about a hundred years ago, searching for Yahweh. He was last seen here, so I thought maybe he was hiding somewhere, observing things. But after a hundred years of relentless searching, I've concluded that he's already left this dimension."
Noir was about to ask why she was looking for Yahweh when she suddenly interjected.
"Now it's my turn to ask, right?" she said in an irrefutable tone.
"Go on," Noir replied, storing that question for later.
"You know you're an anomaly—being born as a god outside of the Godverse. In most scenarios, you wouldn't have survived the backlash of birth. A god's birth requires a vast amount of energy, something only the Godverse can provide." She paused, then asked the real question.
"So, do you know how your egg appeared here? More precisely, are you aware that someone tried to kill you even before you were born?"
If Noir said he knew, he'd be the biggest liar to ever exist. Heck, he didn't even know being born outside of the Godverse was abnormal—let alone that he should've died during birth due to insufficient energy.
'Hey Akasha? Is what she's saying true? Someone wanted to kill me before I was even born?'
For the first time, Akasha was silent for a moment before replying...
It was the first time Akasha had hidden something from him. She was the type who would even share unnecessary details.
'Okay. And don't apologize. I never asked you to reveal anything, anyway. Now, could you tell me how I survived? And more importantly, how this dimension is still intact?!'
She paused, then continued...
'Huh?! Isn't it this [Omicron Human Form]?'
Now she had Noir's full attention. That power was the reason he had experienced solitude—yet also the reason he could speak to her now.
Noir had to admit—that was a lot to take in. He'd never imagined his birth had been so chaotic. He also realized that if not for Akasha, he wouldn't be here. She truly had been a splendid companion.
She really seemed to have a servant fetish. But Noir had gotten used to it long ago.
He then looked toward Hela. If not for her, he never would've considered this question.
"No, I didn't know that. But I know how I survived—and that's enough… for now." Noir spoke calmly, but there was a broad smile at the end. It seemed that his existence could be a thorn in someone's side.
Hela observed the boy's expression closely. First, there had been shock. Then remorse, followed by surprise, and finally—gratitude. He was far more interesting than she had originally thought.
Noir then looked into her eyes again. "Now, the main question—where exactly did you come from?"
Hela was stunned by the question again. He always seemed to ask the ones she most wanted to avoid. Her expression grew complicated.
Noir, seeing this, decided not to press too hard. "If you don't want to tell, then there's no need."
"N-No, it's not that. My previous world… even by godly standards, is harsh. In contrast to your world, I could even call it one of the harshest in the entire Omniverse. No one would willingly go there." Her tone was somewhat dejected. Her expression, melancholic. But despite what she said, she didn't seem to truly hate that world.
"Your expressions betray your words," Noir commented calmly.
She continued, "Although it's one of the harshest worlds, it's a place where you don't have to pretend. There's no need to hide your inner evil. You can be exactly who you are."
Noir's curiosity about her world grew with every word.
"It's a world where strength reigns supreme. Where darkness is law. Nearly all the evil in the Omniverse is concentrated there. There's no law, no ruler. Only Chaos. Pure and Unfettered Chaos." With every sentence, Noir's interest only deepened.
"The threat level of that world has already surpassed the multiversal scale. Its technology is second only to that of the Technoverse." It might have sounded like boasting, but the truth was evident in her eyes.
"It's a world where gods play their bloody games. In that world, if you have strength, you have everything. If not… the doors of oblivion are always open to you." She seemed to transform into a storyteller before his eyes.
"It has many names. But the most common one is…"
