It was too dark to make out the logo on the car, but it definitely looked expensive and so did the man. Keeping her calm posture, Aurora took a deep breath and apologized on behalf of her reckless friend. "I'm really sorry, sir," she said, her tone polite but firm. "My friend is quite drunk and unaware of what she's saying or doing. We'll excuse ourselves now, so you won't be troubled any further." She knew, even if Giselle wasn't drunk, she'd still be running her mouth, but she would never have been foolish enough to touch an expensive car.
Meanwhile, Aurora had finally freed Ivy's hand and focused all her attention on steadying the swaying Giselle. The troublemaker was dangerously close to the edge of the cliffside road. The man in the front seat reacted instantly. Though the darkness hid his features, his tall, well-dressed silhouette exuded authority. He swiftly stepped out of the car and, before Aurora could react, pulled Ivy toward him with a firm grip, his presence undeniable in the shadows.
"Ivy!" Aurora shouted, her frustration rising. She knew if she let go of Giselle's hand, things could get worse. Despite her hesitation, Aurora was somewhat convinced the men weren't a threat, so she said, "Hey, I'm sorry, but can you please take care of Giselle?" She handed Giselle's hand to the man who'd stepped out of the driver's seat. "I'll be right back. I just need to grab my other drunk friend who's causing trouble there."
Giselle, meanwhile, was still going off about how he insulted her driving and how she'd fired back at him.
