The serendipity of events

"The serendipity of events, Ivy Goldenshield meeting Dominic Carrington, Giselle Dawnmist meeting Victor Caldwell too, and now... us. What is happening here?" she thought, her gaze locked with Dante's, a quiet uncertainty swirling inside her.

Dante raised an eyebrow, a hint of irritation in his voice. "You remember Dominic very well, huh? But can't remember my name... hmm," he teased, clearly a bit annoyed that she could recall the other guy's name so easily.

"He was a gentleman," Aurora replied, her tone light but defensive. Dante's face faltered, clearly unimpressed by her comment.

"So, you saw everything that happened that day?" before he could say anything more, she clarfied, "My not-so-called friends were drunk and turned chaotic. I apologize," she added, a tinge of embarrassment coloring her words.

Dante let out a soft laugh, his tone almost fatherly. "Don't worry," he said, turning his focus back to the laptop. "My boys wouldn't have helped if they were interested in your... not-so-called friends." He chuckled again, shaking his head. "They're good guys. They don't let just anyone take advantage of them."

Aurora paused, her mind racing. Interested?! she thought, confused. Why would someone be interested in those two ...one trouble attractor and another ....troublemaker?

Her thoughts lingered on the question, but Dante seemed lost in his own world, his attention back on his laptop as if nothing had happened.

Aurora leaned back into a relaxed position, watching him from behind. Her gaze lingered on his soft, silky hair, which glistened under the light, falling naturally with quiet elegance. His broad shoulders tensed slightly as he focused, his posture relaxed yet confident. There was an effortless ease in his movements, a calmness about him that seemed to fill the room. Despite his intense concentration, he looked effortlessly put together, drawing Aurora's attention to every detail of him.
