The Discussion between Brothers

After the entrance exams concluded, Kishore and Krish sat outside the academy walls, under the glow of the setting sun. Krish's arms were crossed, his expression unreadable as he stared at the towering structure before them.

"You should join too, brother," Kishore said firmly. "You've trained harder than anyone. Even without magic, you're stronger than most of them."

Krish let out a deep sigh. "And do what? Fight against students who can throw fire and summon storms with a flick of their wrist? I'd be a joke."

Kishore frowned. "You're more than that. You survived in the forest for years. You took down beasts stronger than any of these mages could dream of. Who says strength only comes from magic?"

Krish remained silent. Part of him knew his brother was right—his strength wasn't something that could be measured in magical ranks. But at the same time, the academy was built on power. If he had no magic, would they even acknowledge him?

"Besides," Kishore added, smirking, "I'd rather have my big brother watching my back. We've always fought together. Why stop now?"

Krish glanced at the academy gates, where students were being assigned their dorms. He could see nobles boasting, commoners nervously looking around, and guild recruiters swarming the prodigies. This was a world that had abandoned him years ago. Did he really want to walk back into it?

Elara, who had been nearby, approached them. "Krish, if I may say something," she said gently. "Strength isn't only about magic. It's about determination. Strategy. Skill. You have all of that. If you joined, you wouldn't just be another student—you'd be something new. Someone the academy has never seen before."

Krish looked at her, surprised by her words. Unlike the others, she wasn't dismissing him. She truly believed in what she said.

After a long pause, Krish shook his head. "Not yet."

Kishore sighed but nodded in understanding. "Then at least promise me one thing," he said. "Stay close. I don't trust this academy. Something about it feels… off."

Krish smirked. "I was never planning to leave you alone anyway."
