The Contract For The Loser

"So, where am I?" Said Ryuma while looking out the window right beside his bed.

"Oh, we just borrowed the room above the restaurant, thanks to the owner who's kind enough for us to let in."

"Eh? They let a stranger borrow his own room?"

"With a money of course." Said Line as she showed the money's hand sign.

"So, what damage did I just cause right?..." Ryuma tried to divert the subject while looking out the window. There's a crowd of people looking at the damaged floor and wall from the battle before. Numerous slash and blunt marks can be found scattered in the places.

"Well, if you wanna blame anything just blame the mana sickness." Mana sickness, it's a disease when people have inhaled a high amount of mana. When people receive the numerous of mana, the person either goes crazy or his body explodes to pieces. Cases like this normally often happen in random circumstances, but most of it comes from the rain which has imbued with pure mana inside of them. That explains why most parents do not let their children go outside while raining.

Ryuma then searches his pocket and gives him gold of money he receives from the Merchant Om.

"This is for the damage I caused."

"Oh! Don't worry about that. The kind Sage already pay it for the future student of Bakenami's Academy." Ryuma's heart just skipped when she mentioned the academy.

"What student?" Said Ryuma with a wide smile and his eyes closed.

Line then smirks with a big wide smile to the ears. Looking down on Ryuma.

("She's definitely going to make fun of me...") Ryuma looked back at Line with a frustrated expression.

"Oh~ Aren't you forgetting about your promise?" Ryuma slowly averted his eyes from Line.

 "What promise?"

"Oh~ Don't pretend as if you've forgotten about it~ It was an invitation to our school silly~"

"Don't know, don't remember. I don't wanna hear things from the cheaters who just bring a fucking nuke in the gunfight."

"Huh? So are you chickening out from being a man?~ Or maybe, you don't wanna admit your defeat?~" Line's face grew closer and closer to Ryuma, he then pushed Line away.

"That wasn't count. I wanna have a rematch! And definitely with not a fucking sage in it."

"Nah~ that counted as a win. A perfectly legal win. Just face reality and join our school already kid."

"Then don't expect me to join your school!" Said Ryuma as he hid himself in a blank.

"Stop hiding already and come out already!" Line tried to pull the blank but it won't budge.

("Like a mother trying to wake up his kid to force him to go to the school.") Mumbling Valena from her heart.

Valena then takes the lead in trying to persuade Ryuma by bowing her head.

"Ryuma Ochirou, we know our school is not famous or anything. But I wasn't lying when I said you could learn magic. Because our principal here is none other than Sage Melium himself. In other to teach and train the commoner who can't use the magic. This school has been built by Master Melium from his own sweat and wealth."

"You mean... Sunny built the school." A few seconds later, Line was lying on the floor with a big bruise on her head. Valena then shows her void rapier.

"This power... We call it 'Unique'. It's the power that comes from the person's will and personality itself. I wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't joined the school. This power... just changed my past self to who am I today. I'm sure that goes the same for you."

Ryuma who peeked from the blank just went completely silent. After a few minutes, he finally gave up.

"*Sighed* Fine fine I'll join your goddamn school or whatever. Cheater. But keep in mind that I'll have the power to reject if you're trying to fool me."

"I knew you would say that! No worries! We absolutely won't lie to our students~" Line took a piece of paper from her pocket and showed it to Ryuma.

"Now then, sign this contract." Ryuma slowly read the content of the contract.

"Every student will be given one bedroom per each. Studies time is about eight hours per day. You'll be given food three times a day. A student will be given an allowance of Three Thousand gol-" Ryuma immediately ripped the paper in half.

"Yep, definitely a scam."

"No, it was not! Don't make a conclusion on your own!" Shouts Line with veins popping off from her head.

"THREE FUCKING HUNDRED A MONTH?!! YOU TOTALLY EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT YOU FUCKING CON ARTIST?!!"

"HAAAH?! Con artist?! What are you talking about? It was a three... THREE FUCKING HUNDRED GOLD COINS!!! Almost the same amount of the allowance they'll give to a student at Magihen's Academy!!!"

"THEN AGAIN, IT'S NOT A FUCKING MAGIHEN I'M GOING INTO!!! Every word written inside this paper breath lies as it goes!" Sage Melium then tap on Line's shoulder. He seems to be whispering something to her and giving her a piece of paper. Line then let out a sigh.

"Fine fine, here's a normal contract." Line handed Ryuma another paper.

"Hmm, One bedroom, three dinners, six hours of study, and Five Thousand Gol-" The paper was ripped into a hundred pieces. Lose its life purpose to become a piece of paper.

"WHAT THE HELL IS NORMAL ABOUT THIS!!!"

"JUST ACCEPT IT! IT WAS MASTER MELIUM WHO'LL GO ALL THE WAY TO RAISE YOUR ALLOWANCE YOU UNGRATEFUL BASTARD!!!" Said Line while another vein popped off from her head.

"THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY IS CRAZY! I DEFINITELY WILL BECOME ONE OF THE RICHEST BASTARD IN JUST A FEW YEARS!!!"

Both Ryuma and Line were grabbing each other collars and just fighting like a child in the room. Valena who leaned her back just sighed from the two idiots just fighting and arguing like a kid in the room.

Not long after that, they finally leave Herreson's Kingdom with a horse and carriage. But Sage Helium decides to take a different route since his status as The Sage would raise suspicion to Ryuma if he were to go with them. So it's only three of them in a carriage. Ryuma looked out on the Kingdom's wall. The wall becomes farther and farther as time goes by.

"What's the wrong kid? Too sad to leave you friends?"

"Yeah, I had a good time with them at least. But there's also a girl that I have protected since childhood. And yet here I am, our distance became farther and farther. Leaving her alone." Ryuma glared at Line.

"If... anything else were to happen to her, I won't just let this go with a few punches."

"Naname was it? Don't worry, I will send someone to look after her. More importantly, with no guardian for her to cling to, this is a possibility for her to grow."

Ryuma didn't answer back and only looked back to the outside. After a few days and nights, they've finally reached their destination.

...

"Now then, Ryuma Ochirou, welcome to Melistown."
