[Chapter 157: Olivia Munn]
In the banquet hall, Ian was still mingling with everyone, clinking glasses and sharing laughter.
Lena's belly had become noticeably round, and by May, a lively little boy would arrive in this world.
For this reason, Ian had kept his distance from Lena during this time; after all, he didn't lack for women.
Yet in Ian's heart, Lena remained the most important person.
How to describe this feeling? It was like being in a marriage and a polyamorous relationship at the same time, leaving him a bit speechless.
They strolled casually around the banquet hall.
Gaskill asked Ian, "What are your plans from here?"
Ian shrugged nonchalantly, "News is my core focus. In the newspaper side, there's Ezriel and Ron; CBS can stay with James Perry, and I'll leave the banking to you. My plan for 2002 is to further expand my influence in the film and television industry, balancing industrial and investment interests. Right now... there's been too much violent news, and we need some Hollywood scandal to lighten things up."
Ian was now juggling scandal with violence, alternating between the two.
After 9/17, Ian's attention returned to Hollywood; Sony was part of the equation but not the whole.
After all, many still hadn't bowed down yet!
Gaskill nodded with a smile, "Taking it step by step is just fine."
Lena squinted at Ian, "You must be after the beautiful actresses, Ian. I'm feeling jealous!"
Ian hugged Lena, gently kissing her slightly swollen face, "I swear, Lena, you're always the most important one."
Lena then asked, "What about that Katherine?"
Ian replied softly, "She doesn't measure up to even a toe of yours... no, not even a toenail."
This sweet talk made Lena laugh happily.
Just then, someone approached, and they quickly parted, appearing like ordinary friends greeting each other.
Walking towards them was a tall, glamorous girl in a pink evening gown, with long black hair and bright eyes, holding a cocktail in her hand.
She looked strangely familiar, but Ian couldn't place her.
...
The girl seemed just to be passing by, giving Ian a nod as she walked past, and Ian smiled and nodded back.
As she was about to pass him, suddenly her stiletto heels wobbled, and she fell right into Ian's arms.
Instinctively, Ian caught her, only to have her drink spill all over him.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Mr. Carr!" she apologized in a flurry.
She hurried to dab the wine stains off Ian's clothing, and he looked down at his shirt, gently shaking his head, "It's okay, I can handle it myself."
Saying that, he headed towards the restroom.
The girl scrambled to follow him, "I'll call the hotel to send over a replacement outfit; wine stains aren't easy to get out. I know you don't care about money, but please let me make it up to you. Can I compensate you for my mistake?"
Ian paused to look at her, and the girl gazed at him, whispering, "There's a room nearby, suitable for changing clothes."
Ian understood.
He glanced back at Gaskill and Lena; Gaskill wrapped an arm around his wife and raised his glass towards him.
Ian nodded, turning back to the girl, "Alright."
So he followed her out.
...
Lena softly huffed, "She did that on purpose, that slut!"
Gaskill gently comforted his wife, "Don't be like that, honey. Don't try to tie him down, give him some freedom; it's better for everyone."
Lena softly agreed, feeling a little embarrassed, and kissed her husband, "Thank you, Gaskill. I'll always love you!"
The older man chuckled, "Of course, I never doubted that."
...
Meanwhile, Ian followed the girl as they walked out of the banquet hall and into a hotel room nearby.
It was just a regular room, but on the table were two bottles of wine and a freshly picked rose, filling the air with a delightful aroma.
It was apparent this was well-prepared and quite romantic.
After entering the room, the girl closed the door behind them.
Leaning against the door, her captivating eyes gazing at Ian, she smiled beautifully, "The wine soaked into your shirt; I think you might need another shower."
Ian smiled as he took off his suit jacket and hung it on a nearby hanger.
He stepped into the bathroom, standing in front of the mirror, looking at the wine stains on his shirt alongside the stunning girl reflected back at him.
That familiar feeling coursed through him again.
Ian asked, "What's your name?"
"Olivia Munn, a minor player, you probably haven't heard of me," the girl answered as she came closer and casually wrapped her arms around his waist from behind.
Ian tugged off his tie, slowly beginning to unbutton his shirt.
He remembered!
Olivia Munn, a mixed-race American actress and model; her most notable role was as Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse!
One of the sexy, stunning horsemen of Apocalypse.
...
Olivia Munn was 22 this year, just graduated from college, majoring in journalism and drama, so she came to Hollywood seeking opportunities.
She hadn't been in Hollywood long and was still a complete newcomer.
In Hollywood, everyone needed to seize their opportunities.
Why was Julia Roberts so bold? Because she entered the scene early and initially used her body to earn her opportunities.
She was used to it.
Olivia Munn understood that to rise in this industry, she needed the backing of a big player... and she couldn't wait; she had to take the initiative.
Waiting could bring only talkative small fry!
Taking the initiative allowed her to pick her prey!
Even though Ian Carr wasn't a Hollywood titanic figure, he was a media giant.
The media controlled film and television, and a bed with a media mogul was undoubtedly more beneficial than with a film mogul.
Moreover, he was young, handsome, and influential.
If she had to engage with someone, why not choose someone who was both charismatic and powerful?
Hadn't Kate Beckinsale, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Helen, Barbara, Kelsey, Amanda, and others all risen thanks to him?
Kate Beckinsale took the lead role from Julia Roberts, Scarlett Johansson snagged a role from Cameron Diaz, Hollywood even wrote scripts especially for Shawna, and Jessica and others also landed movie contracts.
Opportunities were right in front of her, and she had to seize them, so Olivia Munn chose this method.
If Ian walked away angrily, it would just mean losing an opportunity; it wouldn't be revenge for a drink spilled on himself.
If he was willing to follow her to the room to change clothes, that meant the plan had worked.
...
At that moment, she naturally wrapped her arms around Ian's waist, giggling, "Do you need me to help you take it off?"
Ian nodded lightly, "Sure."
So she slipped her hands over Ian's shoulders, pulling off his shirt, revealing his well-defined, muscular build from long hours in the gym.
Olivia Munn gazed at his impressive physique with adoration, thinking that even if he didn't give her an opportunity, she would sleep with him anyway.
Then she turned Ian around, slowly tugging at his belt, pulling him toward the room.
Ian laughed, allowing her to take the lead.
In the past, he may have asked, "What's in it for you?", but now he didn't have to ask.
If she proposed something, he would consider it; if not, it was no big deal. It all depended on their chemistry... if she made him happy, then he'd naturally take care of her.
Then he gently pushed Olivia away, causing her to momentarily freeze.
Ian approached the table, picking up a small black bottle, asking, "What's this wine?"
"Absinthe; it enhances desire and can also help one last longer," Olivia answered as she sauntered back, wrapping her arms around Ian's neck. "Do you need this?"
"No! You need it," Ian chuckled, shaking his head.
He removed the last piece of clothing from his body and poured the wine over himself.
Under the lights, the liquid glimmered on his skin with a sparkling sheen.
Olivia smiled at this.
Her red lips parted, her tongue licking the wine off Ian's chest, her sultry eyes gazing at him, "Are you sure you don't want a taste?"
Ian smiled, "Slowly, at least it won't waste it on you."
Saying that, he gradually pushed Olivia down.
