Chapter 184: Car Accident

[Chapter 184: Car Accident]

Leaving the hotel, Ian pulled out his phone and said, "Vincent, head to the 20th floor across the street and set up the camera."

"Got it, boss."

After leaving the hotel, Ian walked across to the adjacent building. By the time he reached the room, Vincent had already set up the camera and was talking with Brydon.

Seeing Ian enter, Vincent stood up and said, "Nothing much happening across the street."

Ian walked over to the camera and began adjusting the lens, stating, "There's a room on the 19th floor with a juicy scene unfolding."

Vincent looked out the window in surprise and exclaimed, "Nicole Kidman? Naomi Watts? Damn, the curtains were drawn before..."

Brydon chuckled, "Don't be surprised; that's the boss's skill. He always manages to break through barriers and ignore defenses."

"You've been gaming too much lately, Brydon!" Brydon shot a questioning look at Ian, saying, "But I thought you had some connections with Nicole Kidman, boss. Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

Ian glanced at the camera and casually replied, "It's all business, no feelings... She wanted $18 million for a piece of the rights to Mission: Impossible. Fuck! That woman knows how to ask for a lot! I've never bought anything so expensive, so it's always better to buy from the enemy than from your own. After all, you can beat up the enemy, but with your own, you just have to endure. I'm glad about this woman's reality; it means I can be a bit more real too!"

Vincent looked puzzled, "You planning to ask for the money back?"

"Of course not," Ian shook his head. "I'm not that kind of guy, but..."

He watched the performance across the way and chuckled, "These two are far better than Kelsey and Barbara. Kelsey and Barbara had their fun, but it was more of a pastime than anything else... Who cares about that old rivalry? Everyone was just bored anyway.

Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts are different; they looked like they were truly enjoying it. Maybe I could get them to collaborate and serve me a little. Let's put on a professional show!"

Vincent shook his head, saying, "You really plan to show the world the pictures of the women you've slept with? Boss?"

Ian looked at him in surprise, "I didn't know you were so traditional?"

He laughed as he continued, "I could easily put myself up for scrutiny; what's she to worry about? Of course, I'd blur out the faces and wouldn't use my name -- just you, Vincent, you'll take the fall for this... And she'll get mad, I'll just have to teach you a lesson right in front of her... Give her a chance to redeem herself."

Vincent and Brydon exchanged glances, both rolling their eyes.

That's what excellent subordinates are for -- to take the blame!

...

It didn't take long, and Ian quickly wrapped things up.

Handing over the remaining tasks to Vincent, he left to head back home to recharge.

There was no one at his place tonight, a rare moment of leisure for Ian to regain some energy.

Not long after getting on the road, there was suddenly a loud crash ahead.

Brydon slowed down and looked up ahead, saying, "Car crash, but it hasn't flipped; it's not serious."

Ian leaned out the window and saw a red Ferrari that had crashed into a Cadillac up ahead.

He recognized the driver of the Ferrari from somewhere...

Halle Berry?

Ian was taken aback.

Halle Berry clearly was drunk and didn't seem to care about what had happened.

The Cadillac's driver angrily got out of his car and was taken aback when he saw Halle Berry, saying, "Miss Berry, you hit my car!"

Halle laughed, "Well, since you know who I am, just talk to my agent about it."

With that, she attempted to drive away.

Seeing this unfold, Ian suddenly remembered.

This had actually happened!

Halle Berry had crashed her car while drunk and just left the scene.

This incident caused a huge stir and briefly tarnished Halle Berry's reputation... It was amusing; you could have issues with drugs and promiscuity, but a hit-and-run was serious business, even if no one was hurt.

Halle Berry was about to join UTA, and Ian couldn't let this happen. He immediately shouted, "Stop her, don't let her leave!"

Brydon quickly hit the gas and positioned the car in front of the Ferrari.

...

Halle was startled; Ian had already gotten out of the car.

Upon seeing him, Halle smiled, "Hey, Ian!"

Ian strode over and yanked her out of the car, sternly saying, "You've had too much to drink; you shouldn't be driving and especially shouldn't just run off when something happens. Do you want this to go public?"

Halle, obviously intoxicated, swayed a bit while giggling, saying, "But you wouldn't expose me, right?"

As she said this, she even wrapped her arm around Ian's neck with a flirtatious demeanor.

"I'm not the sole voice of the media, you idiot!" Ian pushed her back towards his car.

Then he approached the Cadillac's driver and took out a check, saying, "Let's sort this out simply, shall we?"

The driver looked at Ian and grinned, "Mr. Carr? Looks like I'm lucky, running into two big names in one shot. Thirty thousand... fifty thousand seems fair; I guarantee this stays under wraps."

"Perfect!" Ian quickly wrote a check and handed it over, "Now, is this issue resolved? Don't expect a second chance; you know who I am!"

The driver took the check with a laugh, "Thanks for your generosity, Mr. Carr. Don't worry, I'm not that foolish!"

As he bowed to Ian, he happily drove away.

...

With that, Halle Berry was no longer at risk of a hit-and-run charge.

Ian then looked at Halle Berry, "Where do you live? I can get someone to take you home."

Halle was already fast asleep in the car.

Seeing that she had dozed off, Ian helplessly fished the keys from her and tossed them to Brydon, saying, "You drive her car, head back to Godwin Manor first. Damn... This is the first time I've not reported news but rather tried to eliminate it. I feel like I'm no longer the top-notch journalist I used to be."

Ian felt a sense of helplessness about his declining dedication.

Brydon smiled, "But your business side is definitely improving. Ian Carr is not just a great journalist; he's also a superb businessman!"

Ian gave a thumbs up, "I like that!"

...

At that point, Ian jumped in the car and drove Halle Berry back to Godwin Manor.

The butler and staff quickly noticed the situation and helped Ian get Halle Berry into the living room.

They wiped her face and gave her some water, and finally, Halle began to regain some awareness.

Squinting her eyes open, she looked around and found herself lying on a large sofa in the living room.

The crystal chandelier above shimmered warmly.

Not far away, Ian Carr had changed into his pajamas and was sitting on a nearby armchair, peeling a banana handed to him by a servant.

Halle Berry blurted out, "Is this your house?"

Ian nodded, "You passed out; I didn't know where you lived, so I brought you here to sober up."

Halle rubbed her temples, a bit dazed, "Home? I don't have a home anymore."

Ian was taken aback, "You and Mr. Benet..."

"Don't mention him!" Halle shouted angrily.

Ian understood.

Such things weren't uncommon, were they?

So he said, "I've got enough guest rooms; you can find a place to sleep for now."

Halle shook her head.

She stared at Ian and suddenly said, "I want a banana too."

Ian casually picked one up and handed it to her.

Halle gently shook her head, "Not that one."

Ian paused.

He looked around, and the butler was quite perceptive.

With a gesture, everyone quietly left the room, carefully closing the door behind them.

Ian was speechless.

That wasn't what he meant.

Thinking it over, he shook his head, "I didn't mean it like that, Mrs. Benet."

"Call me Halle!" Halle Berry sat up.

She loosened her pristine collar, revealing a beautiful and smooth cleavage.

She stared intently at Ian, "Helen likes you a lot, and I want to see what kind of amazing man captivates her so."

Ian gave a wry smile, "I really don't intend to hurt Helen."

Halle was already on her feet.

She casually shrugged off her coat, her enchanting eyes locking onto Ian's, "Are you saying I'm old?"

Ian quickly shook his head, "Of course not."

"Then stop rambling!" Halle Berry suddenly lunged at him, "Be a real man and don't turn down an offer that's right in front of you!"

Hearing her wild call, Ian was speechless.

"I really just wanted to recharge today."

In the next moment, he was tackled by Halle Berry, who unleashed her true wild side. Ian deeply experienced the energy of a mature woman and the skill she possessed.

Tom Hanks had been right; quality service was indeed crucial!

Especially the skin of this woman was genuinely fine!

The hand-feeling was fantastic!

"I hope when you wake up tomorrow, you remember all of this. I don't want you claiming it was my idea... don't want Helen coming after me with scissors." Ian murmured as he restrained Halle Berry, sensing her energy dwindling beneath him.
