Do Your Best To Please Me!

"Loki, you are not the real king of Asgard yet! The Father of Gods is only temporarily asleep, and he never truly appointed you as king!"

Heimdall's deep voice echoed.

Odin had fallen asleep so suddenly that no one knew why. The only sources claimed he was asleep with only Loki by his side. But Heimdall, along with everyone else, didn't believe Loki had the power to plot against the Father of Gods. Odin, the King of Gods, was invincible and omnipotent. Loki's magic, in comparison, was nothing more than the skills of a novice.

It was also true that no one stepped forward to question it. Thor had been exiled, and his name was stripped away. Only Loki remained to temporarily take over matters of Dominion.

However, Heimdall was determined not to recognize him; he only acknowledged Odin and half of Thor.

"Yes, you are right, but now I am the ruler of Asgard. I am your king!"

"My command is the king's command!" Loki declared, raising the Eternal Lance—the symbol of the throne.

Seeing the Spear of Eternity, Heimdall clenched his fists and drew his long sword.

"Since this is the case, I no longer have to cooperate with you!" Heimdall retorted.

Loki smiled, as he had anticipated this.

"Aren't you curious how I managed to travel to Jotunheim without telling you? Now you know!"

With those words, Heimdall slashed at Loki, cutting him in half with his sword. But it was just a phantom.

The real Loki appeared behind him, wielding the Eternal Lance and unleashing a powerful energy beam. Heimdall was struck hard, even with his Warframe providing protection against most of the attack. After all, this was an attack that would have killed an unsuspecting Lauf in two shots. Heimdall, compared to Lauf, was far weaker.

"This is the secret of magic!" Loki taunted.

"Before, Sif began testing you with the invisibility cloak, but you still haven't learned your lesson, Heimdall."

"Do you think everyone is as upright as you?"

"The Father of Gods appointed you as the Patronus, which seems to have been the wrong choice."

Loki shook his head, sneering. Although his magic was not as powerful as Aaron's, he knew he could not truly hide from Heimdall's vigilance. But Heimdall, like the Three Warriors, had never been particularly fond of Loki's magic, and his caution toward him was minimal.

They never realized that before Aaron was born, Loki was the most capable magician in Asgard.

"How can a reckless man, who only knows how to use brute force, be a Patronus?" Loki called over some guards and ordered them to throw Heimdall into the dungeon.

The charge was treason, added to the attack on the king. It was enough to imprison Heimdall for the rest of his life.

After taking care of this, Loki looked at the Earth through the guardian sword. Although he couldn't see everything, he knew who was there.

Aaron, his half-ally, was dealing with a Midgardian who had picked up Mjolnir.

"Mjolnir—if I can pick it up, it must be more experienced than Thor!" Loki mused.

"But before that, my dear big brother, I'm sorry."

Loki turned and walked away, deciding to teach Thor a lesson.

"Heimdall!" Thor shouted desperately.

Although Thor had lost his powers, Heimdall wouldn't ignore his cries, nor would he act against Odin's decision.

However, neither Thor nor Aaron received any response from Heimdall.

"Could the ice titans of Jotunheim be invading Asgard while we're distracted?" Sif guessed anxiously.

They hadn't felt it before, but now that they thought about it, Asgard was indeed weak. Thor and Odin were gone, and now Sif and the Three Warriors were missing. The only remaining powerful figure was Aaron.

There were not many strong individuals left in Asgard.

"They look down on Loki, and the only one they can rely on is Heimdall, the Patronus," Sif continued.

"Something that could keep Heimdall from being distracted would inevitably endanger Asgard."

"Could it be the revenge of the Frost Titans?"

"No, just the Titans? They can't even leave Jotunheim!" Fandral said confidently.

"Don't forget, the Frost Titans sneaked into the Golden Hall last time," Sif replied quickly.

"That was an accident! Loki must have done it to interrupt Thor's coronation."

"But now that he's king of Asgard, he has no reason to help the enemy invade our domain." Fandral reasoned.

"Aaron, can you figure out why?" Thor asked anxiously.

Even though he had been exiled, Thor still considered himself part of Asgard. Now, with no response from Heimdall and no way to raise Mjolnir, he felt weaker than ever.

Aaron shook his head, remaining silent about any predictions. The so-called plot was no longer reliable.

He couldn't tell what Loki was planning, especially since Laufey was dead, and the Casket of Ancient Winters had fallen into his hands. Loki's plan to save Odin by killing Laufey at a critical moment was impossible.

Could Loki still be trying to contact Surtur, the Flame Titan King? Was he courting death?

Perhaps Asgard was about to enter Ragnarök early.

Aaron believed that Loki's attempt to meet Surtur wouldn't go smoothly. Surtur wasn't as easy to deal with as Laufey.

Maybe Loki planned to use the Destroyer armor again.

Aaron raised an eyebrow.

"It seems really possible," he muttered.

But on second thought, Loki knew he was here. Could it be that he was confident he could defeat Thor with the Destroyer armor, without Aaron stopping him?

Aaron thought Loki might be exactly that confident.

The Destroyer was a powerful armor created by Odin for war. It was made of Uru metal, equipped with high-temperature beam cannons, shapeshifting abilities, and more. Its strength was on par with Mjolnir.

The Destroyer could act autonomously or be controlled by its wielder. It was enchanted by Odin, carrying immense power. Odin used it to guard the vault, and it was not something a mortal could easily overcome.

Both Loki and Thor knew of the Destroyer's existence. Loki also knew how to use the Eternal Lance.

Considering Loki's temperament, Aaron feared the combat capabilities of the Destroyer might be overestimated, but it was still a powerful threat.

Soon, the familiar Bifrost beam appeared—but this time, it was not an ally but a tall, unmanned armor.

"That's… the Destroyer!"

"Wasn't it supposed to be guarding the treasure house? Why is it here now?" Thor froze, confused by its sudden appearance.

Sif nodded. "And now that the battle is over, there's no need to send the Destroyer at all. With Aaron's strength, he could easily solve this."

Aaron's lips twitched slightly.

"Are you so confident in me? You're more optimistic than I am."

"Destroyer?" Charles and the others exchanged confused glances.

"He's not an enemy," Thor said calmly. "I'll go talk to him."

Thor stepped forward, but the Destroyer greeted him with a light cannon.

The attack was more than anyone expected.

Sif and the others didn't have time to react. They had subconsciously thought the Destroyer was an ally.

The beam struck Thor, sending him flying tens of meters.

But despite this, Thor was fine.

"Is this how you greet someone in Asgard?" Logan joked.

"Well, it really is worthy of being a god!"

Logan, brooding about Jean, muttered complaints. But Loki clearly heard them through the Eternal Gun.

Without saying a word, Loki fired a light cannon at Logan.

This time, Loki didn't control the power.

Logan didn't expect this at all, and the beam struck him, piercing through his chest.

"Asgard is no lowly Midgardian to insult!" Loki's expression was cold.

Logan shouted weakly, "Sh*t!"

Thanks to his adamantium skeleton, Logan survived, though the wound was severe.

"Logan!" Scott cried out in shock. He quickly launched a laser beam at the Destroyer.

But the Destroyer continued forward, unaffected.

"The Midgardians who don't know how to live..." Loki muttered.

"This is the armor of the Father of Gods! How dare you challenge it?"

He fired another shot at Scott, who barely avoided the blow but was thrown back by the explosion.

The two X-Men fell one after another. Charles tried to use his telepathy to control the Destroyer, but found it futile.

It was no use. The armor wasn't controlled by telepathy.

Charles turned silently and left, realizing he could do nothing more.

At that moment, Ororo summoned a storm, summoning lightning bolts to strike the Destroyer.

Thor was astounded.

"Another god?"

Loki was also startled, instinctively alert.

After a while, Ororo gathered enough strength to direct several lightning bolts at the Destroyer.

Thor laughed.

"Such small lightning? I thought there were people like me in Midgard."

Loki relaxed, thinking the attack was insignificant. However, the Destroyer withstood it easily.

But then it fired a beam at Ororo.

Loki's contempt grew for these Midgardians, who dared challenge Asgard.

Loki had no intention of sparing their lives.

"Ororo, be careful!" Jean cried out, creating a psychic shield to protect Ororo from the blast.

After the impact, Jean held on, though it wasn't easy. She smiled at Aaron.

"Thank you, Aaron."

With his Casket of Ancient Winters energy absorbing abilities, Aaron was confident in his ability to block the Destroyer's attacks.

But Loki wasn't backing down.

"Aaron, why are you stopping me from killing the Midgardians?" Loki's voice grew cold.

He couldn't believe Aaron was interfering when he had the Destroyer at his command.

Loki was sure that with the Destroyer, neither Sif, the Three Warriors, nor Aaron could defeat him.

Confident in his power, he shifted his focus back to Thor, a smile creeping onto his face.

"My stupid big brother, try your best to please me."
