Chapter five

It had taken every ounce of self-control Chris could mutter for him not to leave his office and rush over to Ivy's house to take her away. He was regretting his decision. He should have told her he was coming to pick her up by four instead of seven pm. Now, he only wished time could be faster.

"That is all sir, sir?"

Chris heard a voice saying faintly and then, he felt a hand massaging his shoulder.

"What the hell!!" He jumped at the sudden touch. What the fuck? He looked at who had the nerves to touch him and it was none other than his secretary. "Are you out of your mind?" He asked her angrily.

"I have been calling your name for a while now but you didn't Answer me and I thought you were sleeping because you were tired. I then decided to massage you a little." She said and made to touch him.

He jerked away from her touch and said. "What's your name again?"

"Shyla... That's my name." She answered with a coy smile.

"Okay. Get out and clear your table. You are fired!" Chris said to her. He knew who the bitch is now. His mother had made him employ her. She had been trying to get him involved with so many bitches but it's his life. This shyla was also his mother's handwork. Now he has a reason to fire her and he wasn't going to let it slip. She had barely spent two months and she had done the one thing he hates the most. Being touched without permission.

Shyla stood frozen for a few minutes before replying. "You can't fire me! Your mother promised me that."

"Well, I just did. I run this company. Not my mother. Get your stinky ass out of my office before I have you thrown out." He said and resumed his seat.

"you are just bluffing. Your mother said you..."

"Dave... Come get this bitch out of my office.!" She heard. Chris said into his intercom.

Before Shyla could realize it, Dave was already pulling her out of the office. Dave is the only person that works closely with Chris. He is Chris's personal assistant and head of his bodyguards. "Get your stinky hands off me! Do you realize you'll be offending Mrs. Evans if you do this!!?" Shyla ranted. "I said get your poor hands off me! You'll regret this very soon." She added when Dave kept dragging her out. He didn't even release his hold on her when they got into the elevator. His grip was iron-tight. They got to the ground floor and the door opened. He pushed her out of the elevator and ordered the guys to take her out. He then told them never to allow her into the building.

After making sure Shyla had left the building, Dave went back into Chris's office. "Done boss." He said to Chris.

"Good. Make sure the financial department pays her. You understand?" Chris said without taking his eyes off the document he was reading. Dave is someone he has known all his life. When he was five, he could remember vividly when his grandfather had brought Dave home. He told him that Dave was going to be his shadow. And that he had been. His grandfather would hit Dave when Chris failed a task. Dave had taken all of his punishments when they were growing up. Because he didn't want others to keep getting hit because of him, he had done all of his best. When he was ten, his grandfather had locked Dave up in a dark room for a week. Why? Because he claimed Chris had made a decision that caused the company loss.

That was the last time Chris had made a mistake. When he was twelve years old, he made a deal with his grandfather. If he could pass exams meant for college students then, he would stop hitting Dave. Of course, his grandfather had agreed. The questions were brought that very day and he had gotten them all right. That was how he'd gotten Dave's freedom. They've been together since Then.

"I have done that boss," Dave said.

"How many times will I tell you to stop calling me boss?" Chris said with irritation.

"Well we are at work and you are my boss," Dave said with a smile.

"Suit yourself," Chris said and turned his attention back to the opened document in front of him.

"Let's I forget. I sent the Secretary you just fired to pass on an update to you. Did she do that?" Dave asked.

"I don't remember her telling me anything. What's up?"

"You have an appointment by 7 pm. The state secretary has requested a dinner with you."

"Why didn't you decline? I have something else to do." Chris said with a frown.

"We've been doing that all month. I just felt we should meet up with him once and get it over with."

"But..." He had told Ivy they would go out today. Would he disappoint the girl he had not even won over?

"If it's because of Ivy then I have the perfect idea," Dave said. He knew that His boss was interested in the lady from yesterday. He had never taken a girl home before. Yesterday was the first time and this morning when he had been awake to find out everything about her, he had done just that.

"What would that be?"

"Take her with you. That way, you'll be killing two birds with one stone. We both know the state secretary wants to set you up with his daughter. Won't this be the perfect opportunity to make him know you are not interested?" Dave explained.

Yes! That could work. "The things I asked you to deliver to Ivy, have you sent them?" Chris asked.

"No"

"Good! Don't send it yet. I'll have a new one picked and you'll personally go and give them to her." Chris added with a smile playing on his lips.

"Okay, boss," Dave said and left.

Chris took a deep calming breath and got back to work. He had been lost in thought when the bitch entered. No one dares to touch him. Not even his mother could do that.

Shyla felt like the ground should open up and swallow her up. Everyone who passed by her gave her a mocking look As she was thrown out. "You'll regret doing this to me I swear it! You come begging very soon!" She swore. Her bag was brought to her a moment later and she took out her phone and made a call. "Come get me.! There is no use acting anymore." She said to the person on the other end of the phone. Some momenttheater, an Audi Drove over and picked her up
