Just as Luden is about to continue, he opens his quest menu when he hears rushed footsteps to where he is.
He watches with horror as Baha and his men come to where he is because they heard the system commotion; he remembers their faces one by one, watches Baha, and remembers how he did everything he could to make his life hell, these VERMIN. THESE PARASITES!! Soon, he loses his emotions and goes into turmoil. "One last gift to let you see what you can do with me."
Suddenly, Luden sees a screen pop in front of him, saying
A ding followed soon. Luden saw a quest appear in bold red color and was flashing [Emergency Kill Quest!!].
[Quest description: KILL EVERY ONE OF THESE VERMINS AND BATHE IN THEIR BLOOD]
As soon as he sees the quest, Luden feels his consciousness fading away and starts to get dizzy; his eye turns red, and his aura changes. Soon, a black aura emerges from his feet—an aura filled with death and despair. Trees start to wither, and every single animal gets alarmed and looks in Luden's direction. And start running. Birds flee for their lives, akin to a black hole that absorbs the sun's rays. It starts swallowing everything, even life itself, becoming its prey. It locks onto Baha and his men, who start to notice the color of the forest change and everything around them turning to black and white, and they watch with horror as a black mass of death approaches them like a hawk hunting its prey.
They watch with fear as their once colorful lives are now filled with blackness. Their feet start to shake, their eyes go red, and they lose control of their emotions.
Baha watches everything around him turn black with horror and looks at his useless men starting to slice each other and starting to rampage; just as he is about to yell at them, someone stabs him in his hand, looks to his right, and watches his once most obedient dog now stabbing him with madness and screaming, "It's all your fault." Soon, all his men started to shout, "IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!" IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!. YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT HIM ALONE!
They all jumped him with their weapons while laughing with madness and yelling, "FOR THE YOUNG WOLF!" Baha felt a touch of cold breath gripping his mind and heart; he heard a voice telling him, "Please die for me." He awakened, horrified, grabbed his axe, and started to reason with his men. "Stop it, you useless dogs! It's me, your boss. What are you doing?"
But he gets greeted with another stab to his back. Bahaa resolutely grabs his axe and starts swinging at the one who stabbed him, chopping him into two. He soon starts to retaliate, stops caring about these useless vermin, and starts killing them, but there are too many; they keep swinging at him without care for their lives while just slashing. Chaos ensues. The men scream while fighting each other; the forest is filled with cries of agony and angry shouts. Baha's voice starts to quiver, and he starts shouting from the top of his lungs while slashing at his men harder. The fight takes half an hour until the voices start to fade.
Soon, the dust settles to reveal Baha is the only one standing while all his men are dead. While he is standing over their corpses, his body is full of cuts. He bends down to the ground, grasping for life. He soon looks to the ball of darkness and sees a figure he never imagined he would fear one day: "It was you!"
Luden soon comes back to his senses as the mysterious power leaves his mind. Clarity returns to his eyes as he watches the man who once became his nightmare looking at him with fear.
Luden walks to him, stands before Baha, and asks, "Why?"
Baha looks at him and asks, "What do you mean, why?"
"Why me? Why did you do all of that to me? I didn't do anything to you."
Baha gasps for breath and looks at Luden, who is asking such a question, and remembers how this little shit was the one who did these wounds to him and starts laughing madly. A small, useless boy did all this to him! And the more he thinks about it, the more he laughs, and then finally he says, "Haha, this is the law of the jungle: the strong prey on the weak. It's because you were weak and useful; that is why. Just as he was about to finish his words, life started to fade from his eyes, and he fell to the ground as his wounds got the best of him in the end.
Luden watches the man, who was once a proud mountain king, doing what he can for the weak, now lifeless on his feet, and says, "Thanks for the lesson."
Luden bends down and searches Baha's body and finally finds a cylinder that he hadn't touched for years. He opens it and watches two mana, one white and the other black, dancing and playing with each other. He recalls the two towering wolves that gave him everything. He soon starts screaming at the top of his lungs, a scream that unleashes everything inside of him. For the years he lived as an enslaved person, for the months he spent hiding like a rat, and finally, fatigue hit his body this morning; he didn't have a minute of rest, and he fell unconscious.
Meanwhile, In the city, on top of one of the buildings' rooftops, stood a man wearing a white mask, white clothes, and a cape with the word Judgment written in bold black.
He watches the city like a hawk waiting for prey. He soon gets a radio message: "Vindicator Seraph, eyewitnesses have stated the west side of the forest is in turmoil as people spotted birds and animals running for their lives and watched sinister dark energy spreading. Your order is to go and investigate and unleash judgment on those who are responsible."
"Roger, Seraph is on the move," says the man, jumping from the top of the building into the street.
The people panic, and all cars stop their movement, and people exclaim, "OMG, it's a Vindicator!" "Make way, there is a Vindicator!" People get quiet as children are in awe, and some teens take their phone-like devices to take pictures of him. The man ignores all the commotion and clicks a device on his hand. Soon, a steed-like motorcycle comes to his location with a cool white design. With the word Judgment written on it, people quickly make way for the man, and cars clear traffic; they know whenever a Vindicator is on the move, bloodshed will follow.
The man rides his bike and zooms along the street, making his way to the street wall.
He is a Vindicator, a job occupation that belongs to exclusive people who possess the judgment element, a variant of the light element. Their only job is to hunt sinners and criminals using their abilities.
But they are not allowed to let their emotions cloud their judgment. They are the judge, jury, and executioners who walk among the people. Criminals run at the mention of their names.
They can read someone's memory and use the Light of Judgment to determine one's charges. If you are guilty, they kill you on the spot.
They say this power doesn't belong to them. If they misuse it for their agenda, the power will backfire on them, so people came to believe the Vindicator was the real hand of Judgment, and whatever choice they made was 100% true.
"My name is Vindicator Seraph; my title is "The Sword of Delia." Whenever I walk the street, I see men. Watching me with a clear conscience, and others avoid looking me in the eyes; I can peer into their souls and see their filthy souls. As long as the light guides me to judge them, I will strike them with the wrath of Delia and end their miserable lives and clear the society from their filth. Because I can see the light in their soul no matter how tiny it is."
The Vindicator marched with his bike until he reached the west gate of the wall. The moment the guards saw him, just as they were about to stop him for inspection, they saw his outfit and bike, and they quickly all told the adventurers to clear the road. And they fully opened the gate for him. As soon as the Vindicator reached the other side, he followed the man-made road for a few miles and stopped at the nearest road to the incident and started to run to the location on foot.
As he got closer, he felt an immense aura lingering, an aura even his light couldn't repel. He frowned and pushed forward. Soon, he found an area where plant life had half-dried; the more he ran, the more withered plant life he saw until he reached an area where all the trees were withered. Soon, he reached a clearing with everything dead. Soon, he noticed a few body parts and corpses all around; soon, he noticed a tall man with a big axe bending, and, finally, an unconscious boy of 7.
He looked at the boy's body and arm and all his wounds, and he frowned and started to get angry finally. He bent down near the boy. and put his hand on his forehead and finally said the word
[Memory reveal (Light Edition)]: an ability exclusive to the Vindactors that they use to search the memories of those who live; it is one of the few memory searches that don't have any side effects on both the user and the victim.
A flash of memories from the boy's childhood came to his head, and small, blurry images flashed with two things that the Vindicator couldn't see; they were, "Why is everything blurry?" Finally, he saw clear memories of the boy getting kidnapped by a gang and used as a dog in a cage; the more he saw, the angrier he became. Finally, the memory ended with the gang members killing each other, fighting over something, and the boy getting caught in their fight.
"I'm sorry, little boy, the light of Delia has failed you; at least it's not time to give up on you yet because I see a small light inside of you of you becoming a good guy. As for you guys…"
The Vindicator finally turned to Baha, and his men came to where Baha put his hand on his head.
[Soul Search (Light Edition)] A spell exclusive to the Vindicators used to search the souls of the dead and extract their memory from them.
Soon a flux of info came to his mind of memory of Baha's life. The more he saw, the angrier he got, and the more his sword grew with light until he saw the same ending as Luden's memory did; then he stopped. He grabbed his radio-like device, put the frequency to an emergency, and said, "This is Vindicator Seraph, code name Light of Delia. This is an emergency to all my fellow brethren of justice: a big network has been discovered to me with a memory of a fallen evil soul revealing a long list of locusts of evil that he copulated with to raid crypts, rob, kill, sell forbidden items, bribe, extort, and finally kidnap a child. These are the names they collected, including some guards who helped them. Find more of these vermin and bring them to justice; the names include Kaven Brakmia, Sandoen Arnist, ... May the light prevail." After a long list of 22 names, he finally ended the call. 17 different Vindicators, all watching from different locations in the lower district, opened their eyes: one hiding on top of the wall, one on the street lamp, and another female, one in the shopping district wearing beggar's clothes, all took out their radios. Soon, he got 17 responses of "Roger, ——- is on the move" from 17 different Vindicators.
