After Samantha left his room, Ryder couldn't sleep. He just had to pretend he was.
"She must have been hurt after that fall," He told himself.
He hadn't meant to push her that hard. When he heard her fall he was almost tempted to run to her but restrained himself.
It's been a few months since she started living with him, and she still didn't know her stand. Any woman would feel insecure and want to flee. It was high time he told her how important she was to him. Back then, he had only craved her presence and wanted to keep and have her, but it was past that level now.
Then he was rough but now he would consider her feelings and try to make her enjoy it just the way he was.
"I don't just want to have her anymore; I might be in love." Having said the word he never expected to say brought a smile to his face.
"Feels good to be in love,"
It was a Saturday and the most calm day of the week which he hated so much. He couldn't see her till the next day or midnight if he went to her room, something he had never done before.
"Too calm!!"He said.
He was still contemplating going back to bed when he heard some sounds like someone was struggling. He walked slowly towards his window and pushed it open. The sight he saw had him paralyzed for about three seconds.
"What the hell!!"
Samantha was on the floor while Hailey was on top of her but Hailey was the one shouting.
"Get away from me bitch," she yelled.
Samantha didn't say anything; instead of talking, she focused her attention on destroying Hailey's face even more. Hailey tried to get off her but she held her in place.
"Help!! Help!!"Hailey screamed when Samantha started scooping sand and weed inside her mouth.
"That's what you get for messing with me," Samantha whispered to her.
"Crazy fool, "Hailey yelled with tears streaming down her cheek.
"You haven't seen it all," Samantha told her.
From where Ryder stood he was confused.
Why was Hailey screaming if she was on top of her? What the hell was going on? Why would Samantha get into a fight when she knows fully well she would be punished if found guilty?
Because of Hailey's constant scream, some maids were already making their way towards them. This made Samantha unhappy, but it was over, and it was time to switch it up.
"Help!! She's crazy," She yelled from under Hailey.
Ryder erupted in a round of laughter when he heard her. He knew that it wasn't a call for help.
Hailey stopped screaming and started looking at Samantha with surprise all over her face.
"What in the name of heaven is going on here, "Madam Charlotte shouted the moment she entered the circle. She looked at Hailey, whose face looked like that of a monster, then Samantha, who was crying, and her face was scarlet red.
"The big boss is home. Get ready for your punishment," She told them.
Samantha pushed Hailey aggressively away from her body, making her roll on the grass before standing up, still fake crying.
"That serves her right, "Some maids said to Hailey, who was still on the grass facing down.
Some minutes later Samantha and Hailey were both kneeling in front of Ryder with almost everyone in the house surrounding them.
"I won't ask twice. What happened between the two of you?" Ryder asked with his expression locked and cold.
Samantha didn't bother looking up at him she just kept looking at the patterns on the floor.
"She started it," Hailey said pointing at Samantha.
"What did she do?"Ryder asked also eager to know what had happened.
Hailey bit her lower lip contemplating what to say and what not to say. If she told him the truth, then she would be in deep shit, and if she didn't, it would be worst.
"She called me cheap and poor, "Samantha with her head still bowed.
"She said I wasn't employed and was just an extra mouth. She also dragged my late mum into it," She continued faking tears and sniffing.
Ryder looked from Samantha to Hailey then back to her messy hair.
"Look up," He told her.
Samantha was shaking terribly but she still raised her head and made sure she turned the chick Hailey had slapped.
When Ryder saw the fingerprint, he was sure Hailey had started the fight, but the reason for the fight was still unknown.
"Is that true?" he asked Hailey.
Samantha looked up at Hailey waiting for her answer. She knew Hailey wouldn't dare say the truth else she would be in hotter soup. Hailey was sweating from all angles. She looked at Ryder and then at Samantha, who was giving her that I dare you to look.
"Yes, sir," She said, almost bursting into tears.
"In my house, no one except me tells my people what to do regardless of who you are. You've been here for too long, so I'll serve this as a warning to you; I don't want this madness to ever happen." He got up from the chair he was sitting in and started leaving.
Hailey sighed, holding her chest and smiling widely.
"He's not going to punish her?"Some maids asked each other.
"Fool," Hailey said to Samantha's face before standing up.
She was still smiling widely till she turned. Ryder was standing right behind her hands behind his back.
"You seem too happy," He told her. Hailey had to close her thighs together to stop herself from peeing on herself.
"MadamCharlotte, from now on she'll do all the hard work with the guys and the hardest among the ladies. Am sure you don't mind us using some of your energy,"
"Am sorry, sir, it was a mistake," She pleaded, going back on her knees, but Ryder was already looking at someone else.
"You, follow me." He said to Samantha before walking out of the circle.
"Stand up, "Madam Charlotte ordered before walking.
It took roughly five minutes for Samantha to stand up and walk to Ryder's room.
Please don't look through me, She prayed as she stood at his door.
She raised her hand and then knocked on the door gently.
"Sir, it's me, Samantha, "She called before pushing the door.
She stepped into the room with caution as her heart kept racing. He wasn't on his bed or his reading table. She shut the door behind her walking to the center of the room slowly.
Then she was him looking out the window his hands in his pocket.
"Come here for a second," he said not looking at her.
Samantha stood beside him for a while, but she didn't understand why they were looking out the window; it wasn't until her eyes caught sight of her broom lying in the garden that she understood what he wanted her to see.
"I..."She started but there was nothing to say to defend herself.
"What? Did the snake eat your tongue?"He asked looking at her with keen interest.
"No, "She stuttered.
"So, you fought."
"Am sorry," She said in almost a whisper.
Ryder stared at her for a moment, sighed, then grabbed her hands. He pulled her towards the bed, which he pushed her on and laid on top of her, his legs between her thigh, one hand under her head and the other brushing her hair from her face.
"Start talking,"
