Chapter 10: Team - Leading Jonin

Time passed by quickly, and it was the forty - first year of Konoha.

In order to replenish the vacancies of grass - roots ninjas as soon as possible, although the Second Shinobi World War had ended, this batch of ninja school students still followed the three - year curriculum implemented during the war.

That meant Yue Yan would graduate this year, receive his ninja forehead protector, and officially become an honorable Genin.

Well, a Konoha Genin. Sounds pretty powerful just by the name.

Over the years, besides his school time, Yue Yan still went to the vegetable market to search for treasure chests, but not for long. After all, due to his powerful constitution as a super newbie, Yue Yan's physical fitness far exceeded that of his peers. Most importantly, the Energy Cubes obtained from the treasure chests didn't have an obvious effect on improving his physical fitness anymore.

Yue Yan spent more time learning ninjutsu and at Konoha Hospital.

With his previous knowledge as a medical student and the whole - hearted guidance from Aunt Natsuki, a senior medical ninja, and other doctors at Konoha Hospital, Yue Yan had made rapid progress in the past few years. He could even perform some surgeries independently.

Moreover, with the recognition of all the doctors at Konoha Hospital, Yue Yan was irregularly promoted to the status of a doctor. In a sense, Yue Yan had broken the record for the youngest person to become a doctor.

One day, right after Yue Yan finished a surgical operation and left the operating room, a small, furry blue paw held out a bottle of water.

Seeing this, Yue Yan thanked the owner and took it with a smile.

"Thanks, Xiaolan."

Hearing this, the owner of the blue paw happily raised its head.

The Pokémon that Yue Yan called Xiaolan hatched from a Pokémon egg he had before. It was blue and looked like a little dog. Its legs and the upper part of its torso were black. It had a blue tail and a yellow collar. There was a white round patch on the back of its front paws. It had a pair of red eyes, and there were black patterns on its face like a mask. It was the Riolu, the pre - evolved form of the famous Lucario.

Yue Yan regarded Riolu as a family member and named it Xiaolan. Well, mainly because Yue Yan was not good at naming. He thought 'Xiaolan' (using the Chinese character for orchid) sounded less perfunctory than 'Xiaolue' (using the Chinese character for blue).

Usually, Xiaolan would go to school with Yue Yan. Even when Yue Yan was working at the hospital, Xiaolan would just find an open space to practice alone.

The doctors who were already familiar with Xiaolan just regarded it as a somewhat special summoning beast. There were so many strange summoning beasts in the ninja world that it wasn't worth their surprise at all.

Moreover, Xiaolan was so cute and would help the doctors with some tasks within its ability after practice. They really liked Xiaolan.

Yue Yan didn't force Xiaolan to do anything, but Xiaolan would always join him during training.

"Have you finished today's training?"

Hearing the question, Xiaolan nodded.

"Xiaolan is still so great. I'll take you to have ramen later."

Yue Yan smiled and gently stroked Xiaolan's head.

Just then, Aunt Natsuki walked over. Seeing the affectionate scene between Yue Yan and Xiaolan, a smile involuntarily appeared on her lips.

"Yue Yan, tomorrow is the graduation exam. Is it really okay for you to work in the hospital instead of training?"

Hearing this, Yue Yan smiled confidently. "It's just a small graduation exam. It's completely fine."

"That's good," Aunt Natsuki said with a smile. "I actually think that with your talent in Mystical Palm Technique, you don't have to be a ninja."

"How can that be? Becoming a great ninja is my dream."

If it weren't for those shrewd old guys in the ninja world and the threat of the Otsutsuki clan from beyond the sky, if he didn't have the ability to protect himself, only a fool would want to be a ninja.

Although he was complaining like this in his heart, Yue Yan still said something appropriate for his age.

Looking at Yue Yan full of high spirits, Aunt Natsuki vaguely saw the shadow of her friend in him. But thinking of her friend who died in the war, she couldn't help but feel worried.

Letting out a long sigh, Aunt Natsuki respected Yue Yan's choice and took out a gift she had prepared in advance for him.

"Since you're so confident, I'll congratulate you in advance on becoming a ninja. This is a gift from me."

Looking at the new ninja tool bags Aunt Natsuki handed over, Yue Yan thanked her. He was truly grateful to Aunt Natsuki who took such good care of him and almost regarded him as her own child. He secretly swore that no matter what happened, he would protect Aunt Natsuki.

Aunt Natsuki gently ruffled Yue Yan's hair. "Alright, there's nothing much to do at the hospital for now. You can go back and rest earlier today. Even if you're confident, you still need to prepare well for the graduation exam."

"Okay, Aunt Natsuki."

After saying goodbye, Yue Yan left with Xiaolan.

On the day of the graduation exam, Yue Yan easily passed the test of the most fundamental Three Body Techniques. All that was left was to wait for the guiding Jonin.

On the day of the team assignment, watching his friends leave with their guiding Jonin one by one, Yue Yan also began to look forward to his own guiding Jonin.

Not long after, a Jonin in Hakui walked into the classroom and announced that Yue Yan, Asuma, and Kurenai Yūhi would form Team 8 and gather at the training ground tomorrow morning.

"Great! I'm in the same team as Hong," Asuma exclaimed excitedly, his face glowing with excitement. Being in the same team as his beloved goddess, he couldn't be happier. After all, as the saying goes, "Those who are closer to an opportunity have a better chance of seizing it." Asuma might not have heard this saying, but it didn't stop him from understanding the meaning.

On the contrary, Kurenai Yūhi quietly distanced herself from the excited Asuma.

Apparently, Asuma still had a long way to go in his pursuit of the goddess.

Compared to the two of them, Yue Yan was more surprised. If he heard correctly, his guiding Jonin was Hizashi Hyuga, the father of his future brother-in-law, Neji Hyūga.

In the future, to prevent another war between Konoha and Kumo, Hizashi Hyuga sacrificed himself. This had a great impact on young Neji Hyūga. Before being influenced by Naruto's persuasive speech, Neji was always a pessimist who constantly talked about fate.

But let's not digress. As the younger brother of the future head of the Hyuga clan, Hizashi Hyuga was definitely excellent in all aspects, and Yue Yan could learn a lot from him.

However, Yue Yan still had some doubts about being assigned to such an outstanding Jonin. But when he saw Asuma's stupid face, he understood.

It seemed that this was arranged by the Third kage for his son, and he was just an extra.

After the team was dismissed, Yue Yan took Xiaolan and planned to grab a quick bite.

They came to Ichiraku Ramen. Just as they sat down, Yue Yan saw a handsome dude with golden hair and a warm, sunny smile walking in with a re
