The Championship Stage
The stadium was electric.
Thousands of spectators filled the massive arena, their cheers blending into a deafening roar. Bright banners bearing the names of both teams waved from the stands, and camera flashes flickered like distant stars.
For Misaki High, this was their final battlefield—their chance to prove that they had grown beyond their past failures.
But across the net stood Seiyo High, the only team that had defeated them this season.
The only team that had humiliated them.
Renji stepped onto the polished wooden court, his heart hammering in his chest. The sheer size of the stadium, the blinding lights, the intense pressure—it was all overwhelming.
Still, he forced himself to breathe.
This is just another game. Focus.
But then—
A familiar grin greeted him from across the net.
Kenjiro Morita.
Seiyo's unstoppable ace.
He rolled his shoulders lazily, as if he hadn't a care in the world.
"I was hoping you'd make it this far," Kenjiro said, his voice carrying over the noise of the crowd. "Would've been boring otherwise."
Yuuto glared at him from beside Renji, his posture stiff with tension. "We're not the same team you beat before."
Kenjiro smirked.
"We'll see."

Coach Fujimoto's Warning
As Misaki High gathered in a tight huddle, the intensity in Coach Fujimoto's eyes sent a chill through the team.
"They've been hiding something," Coach began, his tone even but serious. "A new strategy—The Twin Cross."
Renji frowned. "The what?"
Coach narrowed his eyes. "It's a formation designed to confuse our blockers and defenders. Kenjiro and another spiker will cross mid-air, making it impossible to predict who will attack. They'll mix in fakes, tips, and angle shifts at the last second."
The team exchanged uncertain glances.
A strategy like that… it could completely dismantle their defense.
Renji swallowed hard. "What's the counter?"
Coach's gaze landed on him, firm and unwavering.
"You."
Renji stiffened.
"If you can track their attacks—if you can see through their movement patterns—we can shut them down."
The weight of responsibility settled heavily on his shoulders.
This wasn't just about being a good libero.
This was about winning the championship.

First Set: The Twin Cross Unleashed
The referee blew the whistle.
Game on.
The first few rallies were a test of strength and precision.
Misaki High's defense held firm, and their attackers kept pace with Seiyo's power. The scoreboard ticked up evenly—both teams trading fierce points.
Then—
Seiyo activated The Twin Cross.
Renji saw it happen in slow motion.
Kenjiro and another spiker approached from different angles. Mid-air, they crossed paths, confusing Misaki's blockers for a split second.
That split second was all they needed.
**Kenjiro swung—**a devastating spike.
Renji barely reacted in time—diving into a perfect dig.
The ball soared back into the air.
They were still in this.
---
A Pattern Renji Can't Crack
But then—
The next play.
The Twin Cross happened again.
This time, Kenjiro faked the spike at the last second.
The other spiker—completely unmarked—gently tipped the ball over the block.
Renji lunged—too late.
The ball hit the floor.
Seiyo's point.
---
Again.
Kenjiro and his partner switched mid-air.
Renji hesitated, expecting a tip—but it was a full-power spike.
The ball blasted past him.
Again.
This time, he stayed back—but the tip dropped just over the net.
---
The scoreboard shifted dangerously.
Seiyo's attacks were unreadable.
If Renji stayed deep, they tipped.
If he moved up, Kenjiro crushed a spike past him.
---
Misaki's defense crumbled.
The first set ended in disaster.
25-18.
As Seiyo's players walked back to their bench, Kenjiro turned and shot Renji a mocking grin.
"Still too easy."
Renji clenched his fists.
I can't read him…
But I have to.
Because if he didn't—
Misaki High was going to lose.
