Chapter 3: The First Battle

Large amounts of teeth fell out!

Charlotte didn't care about Bess, who was groaning on the ground. Instead, he picked up the bloody gold teeth on the ground.

Right now, he was extremely short of money, extremely, extremely short of money.

"Ouch!"

Bess covered his blood - filled mouth and watched Charlotte's actions with a pained expression.

After rummaging through the loot for a few days, Charlotte kicked Bess.

Bess flew out instantly and landed beside his group of minions.

"Get out of here! Don't let me see you again!"

Charlotte's voice rang out, scaring the people around to back off.

Even those minions quickly got up and carried their boss away.

Seeing this scene, Charlotte couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Wa ha ha ha ha!"

Charlotte felt a bit better. After all, he had been in seclusion in the mountains for a year and hadn't talked much during that time. Although he could endure loneliness, it didn't mean he wasn't suppressed.

Back at the stall, he sorted out the furs and waited for buyers.

Thankfully, there were still some people who truly liked furs. All the most precious furs were sold.

He made a profit of 1.4 million berries.

As for the remaining furs, they were of poor quality. Seeing that it was getting late, Charlotte also needed to buy some things.

He packed up the furs and headed towards the blacksmith's shop.

"Boss! I want to have some iron tools made!"

Charlotte shouted into the blacksmith's shop.

"Coming, coming! What does the customer need?"

A big guy walked out, still holding a large hammer in his hand.

"Here, this is the design drawing. Just make it according to this. When can you deliver it?"

Charlotte handed the pre - designed drawing to the blacksmith.

The blacksmith opened the drawing and frowned.

Because the things to be made were very strange and not the usual farm tools or swords he made.

"Hey, kid. What you wanna make is kinda tough, and I don't have much material. It'll likely take a month to finish!"

"What? A month?"

Charlotte frowned.

"Look, you make these first. I'll go to other blacksmith shops to have the remaining parts made!"

Charlotte didn't have the time to wait for a month. At most, he could wait for a week!

"Okay!"

The blacksmith's boss didn't say much and readily agreed.

Then Charlotte paid the deposit and headed to the next blacksmith's shop.

There were only three blacksmith's shops in this town. Charlotte had each of them take on some parts, and he could pick up the goods in a week.

After placing the orders, Charlotte headed towards the thatched cottage he hadn't lived in for a year.

His place was very remote, basically far away from the port.

Looking at the dilapidated thatched cottage that had been empty for a year, Charlotte had no choice but to just live there. Anyway, could it be worse than living on the mountain?

Lying on the bed, Charlotte fell into a deep sleep.

"Boss! What the hell are we gonna do? We've lost so much face this time. If we don't teach that kid a lesson, are we still the Wild Wolf Gang?"

In a large but not overly luxurious residence, four or five bruised minions stood to one side.

The one sitting on the sofa was precisely the leader of the Wild Wolf Gang.

Bang!

"That kid's a goner. I said it, and not even God can change my words!"

Bass's face was twisted, and air hissed through his teeth as he spoke.

"Have you found out who he is?"

Bass looked at the subordinate beside him and asked.

"Yes, yes. The guy's an orphan. He lives in a thatched cottage in the west of the town. A lot of people know about it. It wasn't difficult to dig out."

Hearing this, Bass got up, walked to a counter, pulled open a drawer, and took out a delicate handgun!

"I'll take his life tonight. Follow me!"

Bass left the place with four or five subordinates and a delicate handgun, and made his way west.

Before long, Bass led the group to the dilapidated thatched cottage.

Looking at the drafty thatched cottage in the moonlight, they could just see Xia Luo lying inside, snoring loudly.

Bass curled up the corner of his mouth.

This is a godsend!

When they were still twenty meters from the thatched cottage, Bass raised the handgun in his hand and aimed at Xia Luo.

Without the slightest hesitation.

Bang!

The bullet shot out.

Xia Luo, who was sleeping soundly, suddenly felt all the hairs on his body stand on end. A wild thought flashed through his mind.

He instinctively turned his head.

The bullet grazed his scalp.

Instantly, a cold sweat broke out on Xia Luo.

"Who!"

A loud shout came from inside the thatched cottage.

Xia Luo rushed out of the door in a flash and saw Bass.

Bass seemed to be in a daze, staring blankly at Xia Luo who rushed out of the cottage.

He had clearly aimed at Xia Luo's head. Why did he turn his head at the crucial moment?

After seeing Bass, Xia Luo instantly understood what had happened. Then the anger in his heart couldn't help but burst out.

"Damn it! I spared your life during the day, and you even dared to come and assassinate me at night. You're looking for death!"

Xia Luo let out a furious roar and rushed up to Bass. He delivered a full - force punch right into Bass's chest, piercing through it directly. Xia Luo's arm came out from Bass's back.

It scared the living daylights out of the people behind Bass.

"Ah... ah!"

Bass tried to speak, but the words were caught in his throat. He lasted for two seconds, then tilted his head and died.

Xia Luo pulled out his blood - soaked hand and shook it off.

He felt a little nauseous.

Then he looked at the others.

Those subordinates who had followed were all scared out of their wits. However, some smart ones turned on their heels and ran.

These were the ones Xia Luo took special notice of.

He took a few bounds and got in front of them. He didn't use excessive force, but just kicked them all to the ground.

He grabbed the ankles of two of them and dragged them back.

But when Xia Luo touched their bodies, a lot of their thoughts flashed into his mind instantly.

"Damn it! I'm doomed. What a pity about my mistresses!"

"Damn it! Let go of me! I must kill you!"

Xia Luo glanced at the guy who wanted to kill him.

He was still struggling frantically.

Xia Luo steeled his heart, stopped in his tracks, and let him go.

While the guy was still wondering why he was released, Xia Luo stepped on his sternum and crushed it.

The guy died in pain.

It made the people next to him tremble with fear.

"Don't kill me! Don't kill me!"

Xia Luo (a character's name) looked at him. Although he didn't know why he could sense the man's thoughts, he vaguely understood something.

"You guys are from the Wild Wolf Gang. Do you guys know where your boss has hidden his treasure?"

Xia Luo started asking.

He let them go just to find out where their boss had hidden his treasure. Even a small amount would be fine.

For penniless Xia Luo, even ten thousand berries was worth the trouble.

The men exchanged glances.

One of the gangsters with a bandaged head raised his hand.

"Alright, go ahead!"

"Sir, all of the boss, no, Bess's money is in the safe in his manor. You can go and get it anytime!"

Hearing this, Xia Luo grabbed his hand and asked,

"Is that true?"
