★She's dying ★

~Chapter 5~

♥♥♥♥♥

Cane, Kane's Lycan wolf, eyes almost plucked out as he watched a nekro change into a massive Lycan wolf, bigger than any Lycan living.

Never in history had it been recorded that nekros could change to Lycan or even a wolf but here it was happening before his eyes - the king of the Lycans witnessing the impossible.

The smell of dead leaves was unmistakable, and Kane was so sure it was a nekro - but what kind of nekro could do this?

Kane's majestic Lycan wolf, stood tall, his brown fur glistening, green eyes gleaming, and his sharp teeth shimmers with anticipation.

But as he watched a nekro transform into a massive Lycan wolf, his confidence faltered.

The black Lycan wolf was enormous, its fur as black as coal, and its eyes glowing like embers from the underworld.

Its muscles rippled beneath its sleek coat, and its jaws seemed capable of crushing even steel.

A powerful energy vibrated through the air and Kane's wolf instincts screamed at him to retreat, it knew who was more superior.

But Kane's pride refused to back down. He snarled, baring his teeth, and the massive black one snarled back, harder.

Kane unintentionally whimpered, unable to believe his own reaction. Him? Whimpering like some submissive dog?

He was the king, damn it! Kane snarled back again, taking his stance, refusing to submit to this unidentified creature.

Right now, Kane couldn't call it a nekro or a Lycan - it exhibited the powers of both creatures.

Kane charged forward, snapping his snout towards the black Lycan wolf, who dodged it swiftly and countered with his own attack.

The black Lycan wolf met him head-on, its jaws wide open, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth. The two Lycan wolves clashed, rolling across the ground.

Kane's Lycan wolf bit down hard on the black wolf's shoulder, but the other wolf's fur was like steel wool, and Kane's teeth barely made a dent.

He snarled, frustration burning within him. The black wolf countered with a swipe of its massive paw, and Kane barely dodged it, fear quickly gripping him.

Kane growled and the battle raged on, the two wolves exchanging blows, their snarls and growls echoing through the air.

Kane's fur was matted with dirt and blood, and his breath came in ragged gasps, but he refused to yield.

He was the king! And it was only right for that creature to submit to him.

The black Lycan wolf was relentless, its strength and speed endless, it looked as if it was playing with a dog rather than fighting with an opponent.

Kane panted and the black wolf swiftly pinned Kane to the ground, its jaws biting hard down on Kane's Lycan wolf neck.

That was death - a wolf's most sensitive part, where it was easy to kill.

Kane thrashed, trying desperately to free himself from his death sentence.

Snap! The sound echoed through the space, the black Lycan wolf widening its jaw as Kane's limp neck rolled out, his eyes lifeless as his body hit the ground with a thud.

Immediately transforming into his human form, dead. The black Lycan wolf's eyes swept the place, his tongue out as he moved slowly towards the barely alive girl.

Her eyes were closed, her pulse decreasing quickly, and he transformed into his human form.

Naked.

His hand still in clawed as he clawed out the ropes binding the girl. She fell, but he was quick to catch her, holding her upright so her back wound wouldn't scrape against anything.

Her back was a mess of blood, her spine visible to him. His black long hair framed his rugged appearance.

"She's dying," he whispered, looking down at the pale girl and her dying is crushing him.

His neck burned and his chest tightened, as if something heavy had been dropped on it or suffocating him.

He slowly pulled his lower lip into his mouth, extending his fangs and biting into his lip, drawing out blood.

Slowly, he dropped his head, aiming his bloodied lips at the girl's parted ones, and the blood dripped down.

"Tis," The first drop of blood hitting the girl's upper lip. "Tis," The second drop hitting closer to her parted mouth, slowly trailing into it.

Isabella gasped as her eyes snapped wide open, and intense pain shot through her back. She stared widely at the stormy gray eyes looking down at her.

Her gaze moving down and it locked onto the mysterious man's lips. She stared hungrily at the blood dripping down, wishing it was closer.

Wasting no time, she grabbed him by the neck, drawing him down to her, and locked their lips with a strength she didn't know she possessed.

All that consumed her was the desire to taste that blood. She sucked, her mind numb, as her back slowly began to heal, her flesh getting back into place.

A soft moan of pain escaped her lips as she sucked, shivers ran down her spine.

She was drinking blood, blood! - something she'd never thought she'd do. But her body craved it, and she couldn't help herself.

The blood was warm and metallic on her tongue. She could feel it coursing through her veins. She felt a part of herself slipping away.

She was no longer sure who she was or what she was becoming. The blood seemed to be changing her, altering her very essence.

The mysterious man's stormy gray eyes watched as the pale girl hungrily drank his blood, her golden eye flickering with a hint of red.

That's exactly what he didn't want - He didn't want her to change, but his blood's rare healing elements had been triggered.

And there was a price to pay, though: whoever consumed his blood would carry a part of him, binding them to him like a sire to their own kin.

He still had no idea who she was, only that she'd seemed to call to him after he'd accidentally marked her.

Yes, he did mark her.

Accidentally.

The fact that he'd marked her at all was a testament to his own foolishness - he was supposed to drain her, not leave his mark.

What puzzled him even more was how he'd managed to mark her accidentally.

In his long existence, such a mistake was unprecedented. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was off.

He watched her drink his blood, his face twisted in a grimace, yet his eyes betrayed a hint of satisfaction.

Pleasure and pain coursed through him, a conflicting mix of emotions.

Sharp nails dug into his back and a loud voice shattered the air.

"Ahh!" The old seer was dragged from her hiding spot, her frail body trembling with fear.

She'd been hiding for her life as the mysterious man massacred the pack. Now, another mysterious being had caught her, and he strode over to the entwined couple.

"My prince," he whispered, bowing deeply as he held the seer captive. The mysterious man's head snapped towards him, his healed lip curling into a snarl at the disturbance.
