Chapter 17-I’m here to pay off a debt

Waldo lounged lazily in the chair of his study, his long fingers tapping absentmindedly on the table. His thin lips barely parted as he watched the video feed, listening to the report from the person on the other side.

"The Chancellor's issue is resolved. Come to Red Moon Pack," Waldo instructed in his usual detached tone.

Douglas shrugged casually. "I was actually looking forward to seeing how the drowning dog looks."

Waldo's brow furrowed ever so slightly as he spoke calmly, "Ten percent... they're not dead yet."

Douglas, clearly puzzled, pressed further. "Waldo, why not just make sure they can't recover this time? I thought you preferred to crush people entirely."

A faint, mocking smile curled at the edge of Waldo's lips as his cold wolf-like eyes glimmered with a hint of something deeper. "I still need them for Black Rock Pack's business…"
