Saving Frigga

---

Outside Asgard, the Dark Elves' ships had silently approached the Rainbow Bridge, their cloaking technology rendering them nearly invisible as they advanced toward the realm.

Heimdall, ever watchful, sensed something was amiss. He swiftly left his post at the control console, sprinting along the bridge in pursuit of the unseen intruders.

As he ran, he spotted an anomaly in the air—a faint shimmer betraying the presence of a ship. Seizing the moment, Heimdall leaped from an elevated section of the bridge, drew two short blades, and plunged them into the moving vessel.

His attack disrupted the ship's cloaking field, revealing its true form. Wasting no time, Heimdall observed its structure, quickly identifying a weak point. With precise execution, he descended, driving his blade into the vulnerable spot. The ship lurched, veering off course before crash-landing onto the Rainbow Bridge.

Just as Heimdall was about to exhale in relief, his warrior instincts flared. Something was wrong.

Looking up, he saw it. A colossal warship emerged from the shadows of space—the true Dark Elf mothership. The vessel he had just destroyed had merely been a scout. Now, the real invasion had begun.

The mothership deployed a swarm of smaller attack ships, their size and speed allowing them to evade Asgard's anti-aircraft defenses. As they breached the skies, Asgard scrambled its own warships in response.

Rushing back to the control room, Heimdall activated the palace's defense systems to prevent an all-out invasion. But he was unaware that the real threat was already inside.

The Cursed Warrior, having escaped the prison, had forced his way through several lines of defense. Reaching the palace's energy center, he wasted no time—he destroyed it in a single strike.

The palace's protective barriers, still in the process of being deployed, flickered and collapsed. The enemy now had an open path.

A Dark Elf ship seized the opportunity, maneuvering directly into the palace halls, where its occupants engaged the Asgardian guards in brutal combat.

Thor had just reached Loki's cell when the entire palace shook. The impact of the enemy ships crashing into the halls was unmistakable.

Loki, sitting inside, looked up.

Thor hesitated for only a moment before deciding Loki wasn't the immediate priority. He turned and sprinted out of the prison.

Kai exchanged a glance with Loki before following Thor, Tony close behind.

In the palace, the fighting intensified. Soldiers clashed in a desperate struggle for control. And then, from the descending enemy ship, Malekith emerged.

The Dark Elf king wasted no time. He tossed a bomb into the throne room, obliterating Odin's seat of power in a fiery explosion.

The Asgardian warriors roared in fury, converging on Malekith and his forces.

Meanwhile, Odin, who had been en route to the prison, received urgent news of the invasion. His eyes darkened. Without hesitation, he turned back toward the palace, leading his soldiers at full speed.

But as he approached, a new fear gripped him—Frigga had returned to the palace.

___

Inside her chambers, Frigga stood between Jane and the advancing Malekith.

"Do not take another step," she warned. "I will spare your life if you leave now."

Malekith sneered. "You can't harm me."

He continued forward, dismissing Frigga as a mere obstacle. His focus was solely on Jane, the current host of the Aether.

But as he moved past Frigga, she struck.

Steel clashed as the Queen of Asgard proved her prowess. Malekith had underestimated her, and within moments, he found himself at a disadvantage. Frigga's blade was at his throat.

Had he been alone, he might have died then and there.

But the Cursed Warrior arrived, grabbing Frigga by the throat and lifting her off the ground.

Malekith turned to Jane. "You have what belongs to me. Return it."

He reached out, his hand inches from her shoulder—only for it to pass through nothingness.

The illusion shattered. Jane had never been there.

Frigga had deceived him.

Malekith's face twisted in fury. "Where is the Aether?"

Frigga, defiant, met his gaze. "I will never tell you."

Before Malekith could react, a sudden explosion sent him flying backward.

The Cursed Warrior flinched, momentarily distracted—just enough for a shimmering blue portal to appear. The next instant, the portal sliced through his arm, severing it at the wrist.

Frigga vanished.

Thor had nearly reached the chamber when he saw what was happening. His heart clenched as he watched the Cursed Warrior grip Frigga's throat.

"No!"

But in a blink, everything changed. Malekith was blasted away. Frigga disappeared.

Thor's gaze darted to the side—and there, he saw Kai standing with Tony, Frigga safely in front of them.

His rage boiled over.

Thor summoned Mjolnir and unleashed a devastating assault. Lightning crackled as he hurled his hammer, sending Malekith and the Cursed Warrior flying.

The enemy, now battered and outmatched, was quickly extracted by a waiting Dark Elf ship. Malekith and his warrior disappeared into the skies as their vessel turned invisible once more.

Thor let out a frustrated breath. He knew chasing them was futile. Instead, he turned back to his mother.

"Kai..." He swallowed hard. "Thank you. Thank you for saving my mother."

Kai simply nodded and stepped aside as Thor rushed to Frigga's side.

Moments later, Odin arrived. He and Thor carefully examined Frigga, but aside from the angry red marks on her neck from the Cursed Warrior's grip, she was unharmed.

Odin exhaled, his grip tightening on his staff.

The battle was over, but the war had only begun.
