Tony fell directly from mid-air, and the chip in his hand slipped out.
At this time, a winged figure flew over from a distance and grabbed the chip just in time. Then, when he looked back, he saw that Tony had already been caught by Yinsen, who came over and slowly brought him to the ground.
Falcon landed beside Tony. "Are you okay?"
Tony didn't answer but asked, "You are?"
"He's the helper I invited—Sam Wilson, nicknamed Falcon."
Steve's voice came through. He had been monitoring the chip's status, and after noticing Tony's situation, he immediately sent Falcon to assist.
However, Steve was still being chased by the Winter Soldier, so he had to leave the rest to Falcon.
After confirming Tony was safe, Falcon immediately took off again and flew toward the aircraft carrier. Among the three aircraft carriers, only the last one hadn't received its chip, so Falcon became Hydra's primary target.
After dodging several naval gunshots with difficulty, Falcon was eventually hit and rolled onto the deck.
At that moment, with Thor's help, Steve finally broke free from the Winter Soldier's pursuit. With Yinsen's assistance, he reached the deck, picked up the chip that had fallen near Falcon, and ran toward the main engine of the aerospace carrier.
The others helped Steve clear the many obstacles in his way.
It wasn't that they hadn't thought about taking the chip from Steve and inserting it themselves—on the contrary, everyone had the same idea: since the chip had been with Steve all this time and he hadn't given up, they would help him complete the task instead of snatching it.
Everyone hoped Steve could be the one to finish off Hydra this time. After all, it had always been his goal.
So, they tacitly agreed to escort Steve together, protecting him as he charged through wave after wave of Hydra forces, until he finally reached the carrier's main engine and inserted the chip.
When they saw Steve insert the chip, everyone nearby sighed in relief and waited for Banner's update from the S.H.I.E.L.D. control center.
Soon, they heard Banner's voice: "Guys, we've successfully infiltrated the aerospace carrier's system. Control is now in our hands. The Insight Plan won't be activated again."
"Yeah!"
"We did it—we stopped Hydra!"
Everyone cheered and embraced the people around them.
At that moment, Thor brought the subdued Winter Soldier to Steve, handing him over and saying, "This is your target."
Steve accepted the battered Winter Soldier—roughly handled by Thor—then reached out and removed the mask on his face.
When Steve saw the face behind the mask, he couldn't believe his eyes. "Bucky?"
Confirming again that it was Bucky, Steve gently laid him down and checked his condition.
Fortunately, Thor had only intended to restrain, not kill, so Bucky's injuries were not life-threatening.
Steve realized Bucky had just passed out.
Soon after, Steve found Kai and asked him to help treat Bucky.
Kai examined Bucky and said, "Don't worry, Steve. His injuries aren't severe. We'll treat him properly once we finish dealing with Hydra."
"For now, let's handle these aircraft carriers."
Kai knew that in the original timeline, the carriers would end up attacking and destroying each other. But he wasn't going to let that happen. These three expensive aerospace carriers still had value for the future, so it was better to preserve them.
In the end, Banner safely landed the aircraft carriers, and everyone worked together to eliminate the remaining Hydra agents, successfully concluding the crisis.
However, even though Hydra had been dismantled, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s troubles were far from over.
Kai appointed Coulson as director and named Hill his deputy, trusting them to handle the fallout from everything that had happened.
Steve and Tony also used their influence to help stabilize Coulson's new leadership.
But after this battle, S.H.I.E.L.D. could no longer wield its former power. It was forced to operate from the shadows, quietly dealing with global superhuman issues as Kai and the others had planned.
Shrinking S.H.I.E.L.D. would draw less attention and allow them to regroup.
Once everything settled down, the group gathered again at the manor.
"We've known each other since we were kids. Your name is James Buchanan Barnes, and you're my friend."
In the living room, Bucky rubbed his temples as Steve recounted their past, but he couldn't recall the memories.
Steve glanced at Kai, hoping for help.
Kai stretched out his hand and gently used his mental power to put Bucky to sleep. Then, using that same power, he delved into the deep recesses of Bucky's mind.
Simultaneously, Kai used magic to repair Bucky's damaged memories and remove all of Hydra's brainwashing.
After completing the process, Steve anxiously asked, "How is Bucky?"
Kai looked at the still-sleeping Bucky and replied, "Hydra's brainwashing over the years caused some damage to his brain."
Just as Steve's expression turned worried, Kai continued, "But don't worry. The damage is repairable."
"He'll need to stay here at the manor for a while. I'll treat him a few more times. He'll recover fully—and he won't be controlled by Hydra again."
Hearing this, Steve finally relaxed.
Tony, on the other hand, said, "Didn't we just wipe out Hydra? Why are you still worried about them controlling him again?"
