CHAPTER 8

Chapter 8: The Unexpected Alliance

As Alex sat across from Sophia, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Sophia was hiding something, but he was determined to get to the truth.

"What's going on, Sophia?" Alex asked, his voice firm.

Sophia's smile faltered, her eyes narrowing. "What are you talking about?" she asked.

Alex's eyes glinted with amusement. "Don't play dumb, Sophia," he said. "I know all about your little game."

Sophia's eyes widened in shock, her face pale. "What are you talking about?" she asked.

Alex's smile was like a razor's edge. "I'm talking about your alliance with the Moranos," he said.

Sophia's eyes flashed with anger, her face twisted in a snarl. "How did you know?" she spat.

Alex's eyes glinted with amusement. "Let's just say I have my sources," he said.

Sophia's eyes narrowed, her face twisted in a scowl. "You're not going to stop me, Alex," she said. "I'm going to take down the Moranos, no matter what it takes."

Alex's eyes widened in surprise, his mind racing with possibilities. He had never suspected that Sophia was working against the Moranos.

"Why?" Alex asked, his voice cautious.

Sophia's eyes flashed with anger, her face twisted in a snarl. "Because they killed my family," she spat. "And I want revenge."

Alex's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Sophia was a wild card, but he was determined to trust her.

"I'm in," Alex said, his voice firm. "I'll help you take down the Moranos."

Sophia's eyes widened in surprise, her face softening. "Why?" she asked.

Alex's smile was like a razor's edge. "Because I have a score to settle with them too," he said.

As they talked, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had never been one to back down from a challenge, and taking down the Moranos was the ultimate challenge.

But as they parted ways, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that Sophia was still hiding something. He knew that she was a wild card, but he was determined to trust her.

As he walked back to the Bianchi headquarters, Alex's mind was racing with possibilities. He knew that taking down the Moranos wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to do it.

When he arrived at the headquarters, Alex was greeted by Marco, who was sitting behind his desk, a look of amusement on his face.

"So, Alex," Marco said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I hear you're working with Sophia now."

Alex's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Marco was trying to provoke him, but he refused to rise to the bait.

"What of it?" Alex asked, his voice firm.

Marco's smile widened, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, nothing," he said. "I just find it interesting that you're working with someone who's been playing you all along."

Alex's eyes flashed with anger, his face twisted in a scowl. "What are you talking about?" he asked.

Marco's smile faltered, his eyes narrowing. "Don't play dumb, Alex," he said. "I know all about Sophia's little game."

Alex's eyes glinted with amusement. "And what game might that be?" he asked.

Marco's smile widened, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh, Alex," he said. "You're so naive. Sophia is working for the Moranos, and she's been playing you all along."

Alex's eyes widened in shock, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Marco was trying to manipulate him, but he was determined to get to the truth.

"I don't believe you," Alex said, his voice firm.

Marco's smile faltered, his eyes narrowing. "Fine," he said. "Don't believe me. But when you find out the truth, don't come crying to me."

As Alex walked out of the office, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Marco was trying to manipulate him, but he was determined to get to the truth.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Sophia's number. She answered on the first ring.

"Hey," Sophia said, her voice husky.

Alex's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. He knew that Sophia was a wild card, but he was determined to trust her.

"We need to talk," Alex said, his voice firm.

Sophia's laughter was like music. "I'm counting on it," she said.

As Alex hung up the phone, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. He knew that Sophia was hiding something, but he was determined to get to the truth.
