PRESENT
The Dragon's ambers met the Wolf's fierce eyes in a distance, a promise to challenge, a vow to respect wills, for the fallen, for the solitudes, for the Peace with only room for one.
And so, they both dashed. Adrei's steps left flamingwheel crescent; Leona's cracked the ground with snowflaked frosts, as they both jumped, claws of fur and scale stretched back, and struke with furies that would shake the heaven, the sheer impact flew up frosty gusts over the wide cavern as they glided past each other mid-air, the sound of claws echoing a bell toll for another Dragonsong War.
The Ambers from the Dragon gazed back around at the blues of the wolf, fire breaths readied at her lips, the same with the wolf's frost blast her sharp teeth held, as roars shook and magic of Dragon's condensed flame and vortexed frost clustered, melded, and seethed into each other, warping the air into a screeching halt, before denotating in a large puffs of smoke. Footsteps sounded, the dragon's shoes denting the landing whilst the wolf's paw softening, before a hurried dash from both kicked up for another bout to exchange wills.
Leona frowned as her ice-rimmed claws swiped right to lash against the dragon's scaled talons, her four-footed body disadvantagous to stilled exchange like sword against sword, so her feet kicked up once again to back away, ran sideway just as the Dragon followed, before bolting forward to strike at her claw again. Sereptine hues of blues and fires coiled beyond the smoke as they clashed back and forth, the smoke as a curtain to a theatre of the frosted resolve to die against the fiery wrath to scatter that resolve.
Then a wolf's desperate howl tore through the caverns as the Dragon's claw pounced and grabbed into the wolf's claw, iced frosts seeping into the scale as Adrei's fist pulled back and struck the wolf's face, the gust resulted from the impact blasted away the smoke in an instant, as the fist sunk deeper and deeper, before bouncing the wolf like a springboard, as the wolf's body curled and rolled on the ice.
Yet the ever-efficient wolf's glare didn't cease even if icy dusts from the ground clustered to her eyes, as seals of runes hovered over her rolling body before shooting out icicles, each with the size of a Dragon's feet. Adrei took a deep, breath, pulled back her legs, and her fist met each and every one of the frosty projectiles were mere blazing punches, each punch glowing as Adrei punched like wacka-moles against the icicles, frosty airs of dead, melted ices enveloping the cavern with each smash, before the Dragon's tail flicked, her draconic eyes scanned only to find a clearing with no wolf.
Adrei clicked her teeth as she glanced behind, before a wolf's teeth sunk into her scaled shoulder, leaving...not a dent but mere steams onto the Draconic scaled armor. Leona clutched the monarch's scales like a dog toy before lowering, then swinging her jaw upward to fling her to the air. The upside-down Dragon frowned as Leona lept, the wolf's tail glittering blades of frost before flipping and hammering her sharpened tail into her. With a smirk, however, the tyrant's daugther merely grasped it with a thud, frosty decoring her palm as she returned with her own crutch, flipping, before hammering Leona straight back down to the cavern's floor into a crator, her heels landing before backing away to give some breaths for the Wolf Queen's respite.
The wolf didn't spout another response, the ashed wound from her torso still smoldering, the tyrant's kin is staring right back at the wolf queen. Her master's defeated smile, her companion's fallen bodies, it all flashed through Leona's mind as she took a stumbling step forward. The failure of her pride, and vows of journey haunted her, as the throne room had become a battlefield of shattered dreams and reality.
Her eyes focused on Adrei, and she took a deep breath, the cold air condensing into a frosty fog around her snout. So be it, let the next strike be her finale, the final act in this 'revenge' she had been waiting for so long.
Then, Adrei's eyes widened in surprise. From within the wolf's throat, a deep, resonating howl grew, not of pain but of power. The room shivered, the very air turning to ice crystals, as Leona's mana coalesced around her into a swirling vortex of frost. The dragon recognised this as she readied her right claw, her scales rippling with anticipation.
"I weep for the sorrows of the departed."The words were a solemn echo in the room, as if the very walls themselves mourned the fate of those lost. The whispers of mana grew louder, the sound resonating with the essence of the Frozen Night, a power that had not been unleashed since the days of the Spirit King's rule, since that fateful fight with the Tyrant Adalon.
"I watched over the Graves of the Forgotten." Leona's voice was a crescendo of power, the words a declaration of her lineage. The mana swirled as the wolf's lowly howl grew into a sonorous symphony that shook the very foundations of the throne room.
"I declared solitude amidst the endless snow." The wolf's eyes glowed with a cerulean light, the frost around her thickening into a blizzard that enveloped the dragon queen. A frosty breath hitched as runes of ancient power etched themselves not only onto her fur, but also her bloodied mouth, her chipped claws, her very soul.
"But this pride would never fade, our histories never abandoned." Leona's voice grew firmer, her breath now a tornado of frost that whipped around her, each word a declaration of her spirit's indomitable will.
"So here I stand: A Frozen Night's Legacy."
