CHAPTER 4 (AN ASSASSINATION)

[During the assassination].....

"I'm afraid the young Lord has been made a target for the underground bounty community" the knight from the hallways reported to the grand duke who just stood stareing out the huge window lin the audience room "and how did you come to such conclusion". The grand duke asked his voice as feared as they said it was ""during my investigation on the fire some few months back, I found some remains of a black mist, and I think the grand duke himself knows that the black mist is an infamous technique used only by the assassins of the Vertican and he underground bounty community" the knight explained "if that's so what do they want from my son" the grand duke thought "where's my son as we speak?" The grand duke asked "currently in his room as we speak "the knight replied, but as soon as he said this there was a pond bang outside followed by. Tremor which shoke the entire mansion, "go see where that came from"the grand duke ordered without taking a single step from where he stood when the conversation started "yes, Lord duke" the knight prostrated before heading for the source of the bang made earlier, as soon as he approached the garden, he found two knights bleeding out on the floor and me standing close to an unconscious C ranked assassin. After unlocking the system I could now see the levels, skills,and other information on my enemies or anyone I choose, that aside I could tell my body had gotten stronger from just defeating that assassin [CURRENT LEVEL 4]

"Level four [4], nice" I smirked noticing a knight walking towards me, "are you alright Lord Aldric?...., your guardian knight vertos has returned" vertos introduced with one kneel on the floor and one arm placed on the hilt of his sword.

[VERTOS RANDARTH, LEVEL 200, S CLASS KNIGHT, SEX - MALE, RACE - HUMAN, TITLE - GUARDIAN]

"Now I get why he's called a guardian" I figured stareing at him "I'm aware you don't remember anything but I am a knight picked by the grand duke to watch over you, protect you, and train you Lord Aldric"Vertos explained, "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you needed me the most, if I was you wouldn't have been attacked or thrown off the buildings top floor, but I swear by my honour that I will always stay by your side and perform my duties to protect you"vertos said again "you're not to blame for what happened to me, so get up at least you can watch over me now"I said ordering him up as I could see some little droplets of tears flow down his eyes "you're too kind Lord Aldric" vertos cried standing.

I just survived an assassination attempt, this o needed to get stronger if I wanted to survive in this new world I've been reincarnated in.

[SOMEWHERE IN THE VERTICAN COAST]

"He failed didn't he?" A dark presence covered by the black mist asked "yes, yes he did, so what do we do now?" Another voice asked from the dark corners of the room, "nothing for now.....*smiles* we don't wanna draw much attention to ourselves do we *laughs*, let's play low for mid time, we can always get him another time" the voice ordered "as you wish"the voice from the corner replied vanishing into thin air.
