Chapter 4: The Call That Changed Everything

Three days had passed since the audition, and Alexander was caught in a torturous cycle of anticipation. Every time his phone buzzed, his heart leaped, only for it to be some spam call or a message from Eva or Maria.

He had given his best performance at the "Crimson Lies" audition. He had seen the flicker of interest in Logan Pierce's eyes, the silent exchange between Samantha Goldstein and the producers. Yet, no official response had come.

Sitting in his apartment, Alexander leaned back, gazing at the ceiling.

"This is taking too long," he muttered.

In his past life, Hollywood moved at a snail's pace when it came to casting decisions. Big roles weren't handed out overnight. But the uncertainty was gnawing at him.

Then, as if fate had finally decided to grant him mercy, his phone rang.

A number he didn't recognize.

His pulse spiked. Taking a deep breath, he answered.

"Hello?"

"Alexander Reed?"

"Yes, speaking."

"This is Samantha Goldstein. I'm calling with news about your audition."

Alexander clenched his jaw. This was it.

"You made an impression on Logan Pierce," Samantha continued. "You weren't originally on the list of candidates, but your performance made him reconsider."

Alexander's grip on his phone tightened.

"You got the part."

A wave of exhilaration surged through him.

"Thank you," he said, forcing himself to stay calm. "When do we start?"

"Filming begins in three weeks. You'll receive the final script soon. Be prepared."

The call ended.

Alexander exhaled sharply, his first major role secured.

This was just the beginning.
