From a Nobody To A Transmigrator

" Where am I? "

A young man wakes up in the middle of nowhere. Staring at the getups he has on him, he panics even more. " Why am I wearing such clothes? And my body, why does it seem petite somehow? "

Noticing the blood stains on his clothes and jaws, he stood up slowly due to the pain he was feeling down his hips. Fortunately for him, there was a stream nearby, and when he looked at his reflection, he screamed, " Who is this person? "

" The last thing I remember is that I was on my way to work and then, I got involved in an accident. "

Trying to recall the last thing he remembered, he mumbled, " I should have died from the impact, so how come I've landed here and in such a place? From what I can see, my soul inhabits this body somehow. What happened to the original honor of this body? "

Analyzing the puzzle pieces, the young man mumbled further, " A new body and an unfamiliar place—------- Does that mean what I think it means? Have I transmigrated to an unknown universe? "

Meanwhile, in the Ando residence, a wedding was underway between the head of the family of the renowned martial artist Kiyoshi Ando and Marisa Tango. The head of the family was concerned because his son and heir had yet to appear. As he tried to reach him, the latter didn't pick up, and his worries grew even further.

The soon-to-be bride Marisa Tango asked her son Jaaku Tango, " Have you done the job? "

He responded to the peculiar question, " Don't worry about anything, Mother. That weakling won't show his face here today. That is if he's still alive to speak. "

At the same time, like in every transmigration story, the young man tried recalling memories that belonged to the original owner. Unfortunately, he couldn't recall anything except his family name. With only that to guide him, the young man decided to go home hoping to find further clues.

In the Ando Residence, the high priest was getting impatient to commence the ceremony. The groom-to-be was saddened for his son but couldn't hold back the ceremony any further than he already had. Sadly gazing at the high priest before him, he said, " You may commence the ceremony. I don't think my son has any intention of showing up, so let's not daddle any longer. "

Hearing the news, the cunning son and mother grinned joyfully without imagining even for an instant what was about to befall them. Forcing the door open, the cunning son and wife were stunned to see the son of the Ando family making his entrance.

The guests were uncomfortable even to speak. Striding toward him was his father. Seeing the man furtively advancing toward him and harboring in his eyes concerns, memories started flashing before the young man. Those were pleasant memories shared between the original owner of the body he was now inhabiting and his father.

Standing before him, Kiyoshi Ando affectionately touched the young man's bruised face and asked concerned, " What happened to you, Itsuki, and why are you in such a state? "

" This man standing before me and who's looking at me so affectionately is this body's father. " He internally thought.

" Speak to me, Itsuki! " The father was getting impatient. " What happened to you? "

Before he could forward a response, the cunning son and wife-to-be stepped forward. Marisa Tango said, " That's right, Son, what happened to you? Whichever trouble have you laid yourself into on this occasion? "

Glancing at the cunning son and wife-to-be, more memories of the body's owner flashed before Itsuki's eyes, just like would a videogame.

Having seen everything crystal clear, he internally thought, " From what I've seen, this man named Jaaku Tango has caused the original Itsuki's death by having goons beat him to death. The original Itsuki, although he hails from a Martial Arts family, never believed in his abilities and never had anyone he could call a friend. Having stopped training, he stood away from his father and when against the goons, he was easily overpowered by them, meeting his doom. In sum, that's how my soul came to possess this body. "

" Haruto Suzuki, the name I harbored in my previous life, and Itsuki Ando have one thing in common, both of us never had anyone we could call a friend. Opposedly, as Haruto Suzuki, I've always worked my hardest to meet everyone's expectations, whereas Itsuki Ando had never enjoyed working out. Either way, now that I've been given a second chance at life, I should live my life fully. The first step toward that life is—---------------- "

Gazing at his father, Itsuki uttered the following, " I was attacked on my way here; That's why I'm late. "

Stunned by the revelation, the father asked, " You were attacked? By who? "

In response to the question, he said as he glanced toward Jaaku, " He hired goons to finish me off so that he could join the family without a hitch. " Itsuki pointed his finger at his soon-to-be brother.

" What? "

Angrily staring at his soon-to-be-son-in-law, he asked, " Is this true? Is what Itsuki saying true? Have you sent goons after him? "

" Sir, I—----------- "

" Answer me!-------- Have you truly done what my son is accusing you of? "

" Well, I—---- "

Turning to his mother for help, the latter turned her gaze away, abandoning him to deal with his troubles by himself. Lowering his head in shame before the head of the Ando family, he nodded, admitting his guilt.

Angered, he struck him hard, landing the ladder on the ground. Seeing her son on the floor, the mother regained her senses and pleaded with her soon-to-be-husband to spare him.

" Please forgive him. He didn't know what he was doing. "

Itsuki uttered at that moment to counter her statement, " Father, if you marry this lady even after all this, then you may forget that you've ever had a son. "

!

Slapping her hand away, he said without an ounce of hesitation, " Take your son and leave my residence. There will be no wedding. "

" No, please, you cannot do this to me. "

In response to her claims, he said, " What your unruly son did to mine has no name and I shall not tolerate this unruly attitude, so before I do something even worse, take your unruly son out of here at once! "

Leaving at once, the guests soon followed. When all had left, the father apologetically said to his son, " I'm sorry, Itsuki. You were against this union from the start and yet I didn't cease your warning. Because of me, you got so gravely injured and could have died. "

Seeing the remorse in his gaze, the young man's gaze softened and he said, " It's essential that you've understood the mistake you were about to make. I forgive you, Father. "

" Thanks so much for forgiving my deeds. " The father was delighted. " Going forward, I promise to always listen to you and not act hastily. "

Minutes later, Haruto Suzuki aka Itsuki Ando entered the room that would now be his own. Gazing upon the size of the room and bed, his attention turned to the mirror. Removing his glasses, he admired his appearance at long last in front of the mirror.

" Itsuki Ando is very handsome. If only he showed it more, he would have been popular and even had lots of friends. He was born into a privileged family and yet behaved so foolishly. "

" Semi-long blue hair and blue eyes—---- If not for the glasses that hid his natural handsomeness, he would have struck so many hearts. "

Lying flat on the bed, he mumbled, " This room is so nice and big. I wouldn't mind leaving leisurely for the rest of my life without lifting a finger. In my previous life, I worked my hardest and in the end, I met my demise. In this new life, I'm not going to make an effort and live leisurely like the privileged son I am. In other words, I'll be living a normal and peaceful life. "

Those were the last words Itsuki mumbled as he fell soundly asleep. In the morning, however, he was to discover that things weren't going to be as peaceful as he initially thought.

While having breakfast with his father, he landed upon an article in the newspaper. Gazing at the newspaper, Itsuki asked, " Is there an issue, father? You seem disturbed. Is everything alright? "

In response to the question, he said, " There has yet been another crime, making fifteen in a month. I hope the culprit of all those barbaric crimes is soon arrested. " He said in a concluding statement.

After breakfast, an hour later, Itsuki left the house to go to school. On the way, he noticed some things that got him familiarized with the new world in which he had landed.

First, this new world which was quite similar to the place in which he came from had technologies like phones, televisions, and newspapers. Apart from those similarities, this new world was dominated by power and strength. Everywhere he looked, there was magic roaming about, an ability that the original owner of the body he was now inhabiting had no possession of.

Landing at school within twenty minutes, Itsuki soon realized the atmosphere in which he would spend his school days. As no one even dared speak to him or utter his name, he quietly sat at his desk without a word. With more memories flashing before his eyes, the similarities they shared were even more ablaze to the young man. When school concluded within a quarter of the day, Itsuki while passing by the vending machine to buy a drink saw the news about the recent crime that's been the talk of the town.

" The culprit has been apprehended; Hopefully these crimes cease once and for all. " One of the vendors said in front of his mini television.

With his drink in hand, Itsuki couldn't help himself but take a glimpse at the television and when the vendor took notice of him, he asked, " What? Are you intrigued about this case as well? "

Answering the question vaguely, he said, " Not at all, I was just curious as to the crime he had committed. "

Explaining the case to him, the vendor stated as such, " The case is very peculiar indeed, you see. The culprit only goes after beautiful women and not ugly ones, simple, isn't it? "

Itsuki, who was surprised a bit by the notion, asked, " He only goes after beautiful women, you say; Would you happen to know why, good Sir? "

" If only I knew—--------- Maybe it's because of that—-------"

" Because of what? "

" A few months ago, a woman going by the name of Sanne Tarsh was killed. Later on, as a motive for her killing, it was found out she had an affair with someone. Merely a week later, there was a new victim with each passing week until today. And finally, the culprit has been apprehended by the notorious genius detectives. "

" The what now? The Genius Detectives? "

" What? Have you not heard of them? " The vendor was shocked as he asked Itsuki in front of him who answered, " Well, I'm not at all interested in knowing about others, you see, so would you enlighten me as to who they are? "

" I will have you know that the Genius Detectives are famous for their impetuosity and deduction skills. There hasn't been a case they haven't been able to solve until today—- They're the pride of our country and without them, we'll be assailed by criminals at every turn. " The vendor said in praise before Itsuki who asked one last question, " May I ask whether those Genius Detectives you speak of possess supernatural abilities? "

Looking at him shocked, the vendor asked, " How did you know, young man? Are you clairvoyant? "

Playing modestly, he responded, " No, I simply made a subtle guess. I figured such important figures must possess supernatural abilities to aid them in their noble cause. " He played it safe, rendering the vendor delighted even more.

Hours later, at night, Itsuki was pondering about the peculiar case that's been the talk of the town. He was so focused that he didn't notice someone's presence beside him.

" What got your attention so, Son? "

!

" Father, what brings you here? " He asked the man who would now be a father figure to him in this newest existence he would be leading from here on forth as Itsuki Ando.

Surprisingly to him, the man in front of him whom he addressed as father grinned slightly, and at the end of it, he said most naturally, " You've changed, Itsuki. "

" What? "

Confused, he asked naturally, " In which manner exactly have I changed? "

At the sound of the question, the head of the Ando family's expression suddenly saddened and he said, " Normally, you wouldn't have let me inside your room. Maybe it was because you were focused and didn't hear a sound, but I was sure once you would come to notice me, you would certainly ask me to leave. "

At the sound of those words and of the man's sadness, Haruto now Itsuki internally thought, " Just how peculiar was your relationship for your father to make a face like that? I'm still wondering why I've transmigrated to this world and into this body, but for now, I think I ought to fix your distraught relationship with this man as he's to be my father from this day forth. "

Staring at his father, based on the memories he had of the original Itsuki, he said, " I was angry at you because you would always force me to train which I didn't like. My behavior was because of it, I'm sorry. You know I hold no talent for Martial Arts in the slightest, so—----------"

" Who said you have no talent, Itsuki? "

" What? "

" You're talented and I know you can be the best at it if only you would give time to training like I ask you to. "

Surprised at how well the father knew his son's abilities which the original Itsuki never believed in, Itsuki grinned slightly and said, " I'll think about retaking training, father. "

" You will? "

" Yes! "

" Then, I'll await you tomorrow in the training hall. "

Those were the last words the father spoke as he eclipsed the room in delight. Once he was gone, Itsuki lay flat on the bed and mumbled, " Training can't be that hard, is it? "

The following morning, Itsuki quickly regretted his words when he saw the training in question with his set eyes.

Internally screaming his lungs out, he said, " Now I understand why the original Itsuki never enjoyed training. This is hell. "

" Faster, Itsuki, there's more to do. "

Two hours later, after the training was over, the father asked in delight, " So, Itsuki, how was it? Did you enjoy training? "

As his eyes sparkled with anticipation, Itsuki responded, " It was a good workout, but I'd like to only train once a week. Would that be alright? "

" He's not saying anything. Is he angry at my words? "

Worried, he asked, " Father, is everything alright? "

Answering Itsuki, he said, " I never expected you would say such things. I thought for sure you wouldn't want to train again. "

" The training is hard, but I think it's most important to work out to be in perfect health, wouldn't you agree? "

!

Touched, he said, " Exactly! Itsuki, when have you become so wise? It's almost like you're a different person. "

!

" Well, if you wouldn't want me to train, then I can just—--------- "

" No, absolutely not! We shall train once a week as you've suggested. " He held his son's hands in anticipation.

" Alright, father. "

An hour after the training, Itsuki went out and his destination was the crime scene. Once there, he analyzed things peculiarly and internally thought, " I'm not here to pry on anything but because I think the criminal of these crimes must still be out there and in complete freedom. Of course, this is none of my business, but for my peace of mind and security, the criminal must be held accountable or my new life might end before it even starts. "

Analyzing the clues, Itsuki laid upon two things that caught his attention and interest. One of these things was a cloak and the second was gloves. The most suspicious thing of it all was where they were, inside the trash underneath.

" The culprit must not have time to throw those things away and that's why he hid them instead. "

Simply gazing at the things, Itsuki didn't touch them with his bare hands as his fingerprints would be left on them. Instead, he mumbled, " If I were the culprit, I would get rid of these pieces of evidence that would accuse me. In that case, let me do a good deed just this once, to thank the heavens for this new life they have granted to me—--- "

Leaving the premises, Itsuki returned home. That night, he wrote a long letter that he later sealed inside an envelope.

The following morning, on his way to school, he stopped by the post office. Lowering his gaze from the post-office man, he extended the courier to him and simply left without articulating a single word. Looking at the address the courier was supposed to be sent to, the postman made it his priority for the courier to reach the police department in time.

A week later, Itsuki learned on the news that the real culprit behind the mass murders had been apprehended at last and was rejoicing over a cup of coffee.

" What got you so delighted, Itsuki? " The father asked his son who responded, " The criminal of all those crimes has been apprehended by the police. Now, we shall live peacefully without fearing for our lives. "

" Yeah, that case was peculiar indeed. The Saumey Police Station received a courier that led them to the true culprit. I wonder who sent that anonymous courier. "

" Who knows father? "

" Whoever that person was, he/she did a good deed. Now, the souls of those innocent girls shall find absolution. "

Two days after the incident, Itsuki, who was on his way back from school, laid upon a mask and bought it on the spot. He had yet to test the mask when he happened upon an unprecedented scene.

"Are you giving up yet? "

" If you do, then hand us what we're after! "

" No, never! Even if you end up killing me, I'll protect it with my life. "
