"Give me your phone, Key".

Chapter 12

Kierra's POV

"I'm not going to leave you, Kierra. I'll be right here."

I woke up the next day with a huge, content grin on my face. As I stretched and yawned, I looked around the unfamiliar room which looked quite different from the night before.

It had been dark so I didn't see much of the room. Now I saw that it was a clean, organized and simple room with gray wallpaper giving it a modern feel. There were a few posters on the wall of famous soccer, basketball and football players so I got the sense that it was a guy's room.

It was probably Derek's.

After I was done stretching, I looked to my side and my grin grew even wider at the sight of a sleeping Ethan.

He was sprawled on his back and had one arm covering his eyes while his other arm was placed just above where my head had been.

To make the image even cuter, his mouth was slightly agape and he had a little drool on the side of his lips. I never would had thought that Ethan drooled but he looked so cute that I wished I could take a picture of him.

Maybe I could. It wouldn't hurt to have something to remind me of this sight forever.

Being careful not to wake Ethan up, I withdrew my phone from my pocket and had just taken the picture of him when he said, "What are you doing?"

I froze as I stared at him, unsure of whether he had been the one to speak. He couldn't have seen me, right? After all, his arm was still over his eyes unless–

He moved his arm away to reveal clear blue eyes that were fixed on me with a look I didn't quite recognize but I knew that this was definitely not the eyes of someone who was just waking up.

"How long have you been awake?" I asked in an attempt to distract him.

"It's been a while and what you're doing is not going to work," he said as he sat up, not once taking his eyes off me.

"What am I doing?" I asked again, faking ignorance.

"You're really going to play dumb, huh, little Key?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," I said again, slowly hiding my phone behind me. Ethan noticed and started to advance towards me. "W-What are you doing?" I stuttered, leaning back with my eyes widened.

"Delete the picture, Kierra," he spoke slowly but deliberately.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about?" I offered, still choosing to play dumb if only to see where this would lead to.

"Give me your phone, Key."

"No. No. Nuh-uh! It's my phone, Ethan and I don't have to give it to you," I replied and made to get off the bed but before I could do that, Ethan grabbed my wrist and pulled me back and in the blink of an eye, he had me trapped underneath him.

My mind went blank and my heart rate tripled as I tried to wrap my head around what just happened. But I couldn't think. At that moment, all I was aware of was the smirking guy glancing down at me.

Even though his body wasn't pressed to mine and I could move if I wanted to, I couldn't move a muscle. Something about the position we were in and the look in Ethan's eyes as he stared at me made me feel hot all over.

Was this right? I was sure if it wasn't but at the same time, it didn't feel wrong either.

Caught up in the moment, I had completely forgotten about my phone and the picture but Ethan hadn't. Before I could stop him, he grabbed the phone and waved it in my face with a smug smirk on his face.

"I'm sorry, Kierra but I can't let this picture leave this room. If it does, my reputation could take a serious hit. You get it, don't you?"

I wanted to tell him that I wasn't planning to send it to anyone but I was too flustered to speak yet. Ethan had gotten off of me already so I sat up and watched as he grabbed his jacket which he'd slung on a chair, put it on before glancing back at me.

"You coming or do you want me to come over and get you?" There was a daring tone in his voice almost like he wanted me to ask him to get me, whatever that meant and I almost did. Almost. But after the whole trapping me beneath him, I didn't think I could getting too close to Ethan for now.

Without saying a word, I slipped into my shoes and got up from the bed, ran my hands through my hair a few times until I looked presentable before making my way to the door, completely ignoring Ethan. When I tried opening the door though, I found that it was locked.

Before I could turn to ask Ethan for the key, I felt him behind me. I wanted to turn and maybe move away but I couldn't. My legs were rooted in place and I really liked having his chest pressed to my back that I didn't even want to try.

Then to make things even worse for me, Ethan mumbled into my ear from behind, his hot breath tickling my ear, "I was going to tell you about that. Why are you in such a hurry anyway?"

Damn, that voice! Just having him talk to me like that, in that low mumble was already a turn on.

"Get a grip of yourself, Kierra! It's not that big of a deal," I scolded myself internally as I tried to get my thoughts and emotions under control.

It wasn't that big of a deal. At least, it shouldn't be...

I saw Ethan's hand stretch towards the knob with a key which he inserted in the keyhole and turned before turning the knob as well. Just when I was thankful to finally be out of the room, I ran into someone I was definitely not expecting to run into.

"Chase!!" I exclaimed, eyes wide, still very much aware of the guy standing directly and how this would look to anybody who saw us.

Couldn't I just catch a lucky break for once today?

Then as if things couldn't get worse, I heard someone calling for me, someone who sounded like Emily and she seemed to be getting closer.

Oh fuck!
