Chapter 9

All it takes is getting a portrait artist to sketch, and the truth will be revealed.

I was feeling excited when suddenly Mike from the police station called me. The old farmer died in a car accident last night.

Strangely, someone had transferred two million dollars into one of the crash driver's accounts, but the source of the transfer was untraceable.

"Did you see? Stop investigating."

"If you keep digging, you'll only end up hurting more innocent people. I don't want us to end up as enemies."

I cut him off, "Carter, you may not want us to be enemies, but I do."

"Just you wait. I'll personally put you behind bars."

"Actually, I love you. Really." I couldn't be bothered to listen to Carter's confession and hung up.
