Chapter 5

"Find Alec to replace me, he's more suitable."

I knew what he wanted to say.

In their chat history, they had already commissioned a world-renowned designer to create a billion-dollar groomsman suit tailored to Alec's measurements, along with matching ultra-expensive watches and cufflinks. It was even more luxurious and grand than the groom's attire, yet Dane, as the groom, was willingly letting himself be upstaged.

My attitude made both of them beam with joy.

My sister looked relieved, "Damien, you've really matured a lot."

Dane patted his chest and promised, "Damien, even if you can't be my best man, you'll always be the best brother in my heart, my one and only ride-or-die."

The old promises were fake, the commitments were lies, only the deception and falsehoods were real.

I didn't want to say anything more, so I closed my eyes heavily.

This family, I no longer wanted it.

Including all of you, I didn't want you either.
