Lisa sat at her desk, staring at the blank screen in front of her.
Three days.
That's all she had to redesign the AI system for the AR game.
No pressure.
Mei leaned over from her desk. "Hey, you okay?"
Lisa forced a smile. "Just… thinking."
Mei smirked. "Thinking or panicking?"
Lisa groaned. "Both."
Mei chuckled. "You'll be fine. Just—"
CRASH!
Lisa jumped as a loud noise echoed through the office.
Across the room, Leo Zhang stood by a desk, arms crossed, eyes locked onto her. A stack of files had mysteriously fallen onto the floor.
The whole room went silent.
Lisa narrowed her eyes. That wasn't an accident.
Leo smirked. "Oops."
A few of his teammates chuckled.
Lisa clenched her jaw.
She knew exactly what this was.
He was trying to intimidate her.
Trying to make her doubt herself.
But if Felix's harshness had taught her anything, it was that she had to be stronger than her enemies.
Lisa stood up, walked over to Leo, and picked up the files.
She handed them back to him, smiling. "Here. Be careful next time."
Leo's smirk faltered for a second.
Then he chuckled. "You're bold, I'll give you that."
Lisa tilted her head. "And you're insecure, I'll give you that."
A few gasps filled the room.
Leo's smirk disappeared.
Lisa turned on her heel and walked back to her desk, feeling eyes on her.
Mei whispered, "That was legendary."
Lisa smiled. "He'll get bored if I don't react."
Mei grinned. "Or he'll get angrier."
Lisa sighed. "Either way, I don't care. I have a game to fix."
By lunchtime, Lisa was deep into coding.
She barely noticed when someone stopped by her desk.
"Your AI pathfinding logic is wrong."
Lisa jumped.
She looked up—Felix.
He was holding a coffee cup, looking at her screen like it was his project.
Lisa blinked. "What?"
Felix pointed at the script. "The NPCs will glitch if they interact too close to the environment."
Lisa stared at the code. He was… right.
Felix sipped his coffee. "Fix it."
Lisa narrowed her eyes. "You're… helping me?"
Felix smirked. "No. I'm making sure you don't embarrass my company."
Lisa rolled her eyes. "Right."
Felix took another sip of coffee. "Hurry up."
Lisa sighed. "I will."
Felix turned to leave, but then—
He hesitated.
Then, in a softer voice, he said, "Don't let them get to you."
Lisa blinked.
Before she could react, Felix was already walking away.
Lisa stared after him.
What was that?
Mei leaned over. "Was that… encouragement?"
Lisa shook her head. "I don't even know."
But one thing was clear—
Felix was watching her.
And whether that was good or bad, she still wasn't sure.
