A Deal with the Devil

"Marry him, or we lose everything."

The words echoed in Emma's mind as she sat frozen in her father's office. She had expected bad news about their company's financial troubles, but nothing could have prepared her for this.

"Dad, no," she whispered, shaking her head. "You can't be serious."

Her father sighed, rubbing his temples. "I wouldn't ask you to do this if there was another way."

There was a way. There had to be. But when she looked at the desperate plea in his eyes, she knew he had exhausted every option.

"Why him?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

George. A cold-hearted billionaire with a reputation for being ruthless in business and relationships alike. He was powerful, influential, and utterly unattainable—until now.

"He's willing to save our company," her father said, his voice heavy. "But on one condition."

Her stomach clenched.

Marriage.

Before she could process it, the heavy doors swung open, and he walked in.

George exuded power in every step, his tall frame commanding attention. His sharp eyes locked onto hers, unreadable.

"This is your daughter?" His voice was smooth, but there was an edge to it.

George met his gaze with defiance. "I have a name."

His lips curled slightly. "Good. I don't want a weak woman by my side."

Anger flared in her chest. "Then why ask for a wife at all?"

He smirked, stepping closer. "Because I need one. And you need saving."

His words hit her harder than they should have.

"I won't marry someone who doesn't believe in love," she said firmly.

He chuckled darkly. "Love? This is just a contract, sweetheart."

A lump formed in her throat.

"Say yes, and your father's company survives." His voice softened, almost mockingly. "Say no, and you lose everything."

Her hands clenched into fists.

She had no choice.
