Cell hovered in the fractured sky, his golden aura blazing with blue lightning, his Super Saiyan 2 form a tempest of power that warped the air around him. His eyes widened, locked on me as I stood below, my body relaxed, the golden glow of my own transformation extinguished, leaving me in my base state. "What's this?" he barked, his voice a mix of shock and scorn, disbelief etching his green features. "You're dropping your edge, kid; have you lost your mind, or are you just that scared?"
I stood still, dust swirling around my boots, my face calm, almost serene, as his words washed over me like a distant breeze. Inside, I felt the hum of Ultra Instinct Mega, a power coiled and ready, a secret he couldn't grasp; this game had dragged on long enough, and I was done playing. "Laugh all you want, Cell," I thought, my lips twitching faintly, "your clock's run out."
Cell threw his head back, a wild, guttural laugh tearing from his throat, echoing over the shattered plains. "You're dumber than I thought, brat! Arrogant like Goku, reckless like Gohan, but with half their sense," he roared, his wings buzzing as he clutched his sides, mockery dripping from every syllable. "Killing me in a flash, without Super Saiyan? Keep dreaming!"
Krillin struggled to his feet nearby, his cybernetic frame creaking, his face pale as he leaned against a jagged rock. "Goten, don't mess around!" he shouted, his voice hoarse, urgency cutting through his exhaustion. "Get back to that form; it's your only shot against him!" His eyes darted between us, fear and confusion warring as he tried to fathom my choice, his faith in me teetering on the edge.
I ignored them both, my focus narrowing to a pinpoint, the world fading to just me and Cell, the final move ticking closer. "This ends now," I murmured, barely audible, my resolve ironclad; I'd broken through to Super Saiyan 2, met my goal, and Cell was just a loose thread to snip. His laughter grated, but it couldn't touch the certainty settling in my chest.
Cell's mirth faded, his grin twisting into a snarl as a flicker of unease crept into his stance. "Enough games, then; if you're so eager to die, I'll oblige," he said, his voice dropping to a cold, lethal edge. Something stirred in him, a shadow of doubt from Gohan's near-victory eight years ago, a mistake he wouldn't repeat; he'd end this fast, before it spiraled.
He lunged, a streak of gold and blue, his fist rocketing toward me with all his might, the air screaming as it parted, speed and power honed to a killing point. Even in my Super Saiyan form, this blow would've been a struggle; now, in base, it should've been my end, a clean, brutal finish. Krillin's cry rang out, "It's over!" his voice breaking, despair swallowing his hope as he braced for the worst.
Cell's fist closed the gap, three meters, then two, his roar peaking with savage glee. "Die, you fool!" he bellowed, laughter lacing his words, victory flashing in his eyes as he pictured my broken body at his feet. The world slowed, the wind howling, and I closed my eyes, exhaling softly, my body shifting a mere fraction, a subtle sway of ten centimeters.
His punch sliced through empty air, my form gone from its path, and silver threads shimmered around me, faint at first, then thickening into a radiant web. Cell's laughter choked off, his arm swinging wide as he stumbled, shock bleaching his face. "What? No, impossible!" he stammered, his voice trembling, eyes darting as he registered the miss, my calm dodge defying every rule he knew.
I opened my eyes, silver crescents flashing in my pupils, and a burst of silver light erupted from me, a pillar piercing the sky, the temperature spiking as the ground quaked beneath my feet. The beam soared, a beacon against the darkening clouds, its brilliance swallowing the battlefield in an ethereal glow. My hair lifted, black strands dancing without wind, my presence shifting into something otherworldly, untouchable.
Cell staggered back, his bravado crumbling, his wings stiffening as the oppressive weight of my aura slammed into him. "This can't be; a higher Saiyan form? No way this kid's reached that!" he shouted, his voice cracking, fear seeping through his denial as he felt the shift, a power beyond his grasp. His instincts screamed danger, echoing my earlier promise, a threat he'd laughed off now looming real.
Krillin stared, jaw slack, his cybernetic hand gripping the rock tighter as he blinked against the silver radiance. "Silver light? What's happening?" he muttered, awe and confusion tangling in his words, his senses straining to find my ki, only to meet a void. "I can't feel him at all; it's like he's gone, but he's right there!" The strangeness gripped him, a transformation unlike any Saiyan shift he'd witnessed, a mystery that defied his understanding.
The silver beam faded, wisps of light dissipating as I stood revealed, my body wreathed in a silver aura, pupils gleaming like polished steel, an ethereal calm radiating from me. This was Ultra Instinct Mega, the pinnacle I'd honed in secret, a state where instinct ruled, and power flowed without limit. I gazed at Cell, my expression serene, but the pressure in my stare bore down like a god's judgment, unyielding and absolute.
Cell's heart raced, sweat beading on his brow, an icy dread coiling in his gut as he met my eyes, the first true fear he'd felt in years. "Damn it, why do I feel this? It's a trick, a bluff!" he growled, gritting his teeth, desperate to shake the terror clawing at him. He refused to believe it, clinging to his pride, convincing himself my calm was a facade, a lie to unravel with force.
With a guttural roar, he charged again, suppressing his panic, his fists blazing with golden fury as he aimed for my chest, a last stand against the unknown. But I moved, a flicker of motion too swift to track, my fist meeting his chest in a single, precise strike, piercing through his armor like paper. A gaping hole yawned wide, purple blood gushing as his body froze, his roar dying into a choked gasp.
"It's over, Cell," I said, my voice a quiet thunder, my palm pressing against the wound as silver energy flared, a wave surging from my hand. The blast engulfed him, his form disintegrating in an instant, swallowed by the light like ash in a storm, leaving only his head to tumble free. It hit the ground with a dull thud, eyes wide with horror, disbelief frozen on his face as his life faded, extinguished by a power he'd never comprehended.
Krillin sank back, exhaling a shaky breath, his gaze fixed on me, the silver aura fading as I turned to him, the battlefield silent save for the wind. "Goten, what was that?" he asked, voice barely above a whisper, awe threading through his exhaustion. I offered a faint smile, stepping toward him, the weight of victory settling over me; Cell was gone, and Earth was safe, at least for now.
