The One-Eyed Situation

Chapter 88

We were handed the quest scroll over breakfast.

Finn took it like he'd just been knighted. His eyes sparkled, and his face alighted with the kind of earnest excitement usually reserved for children on their birthdays. I, on the other hand, felt like someone had handed me a parking ticket soaked in melodrama.

The parchment was absurdly long. I'm talking curtain-length, royal-proclamation-at-dawn long. Finn squinted at it and muttered something about it being a cursed tapestry. I didn't disagree.

The script was so flowery I think it actually gave me a migraine just trying to read it. All elegant curls and ornamental serifs, like someone had tried to write Shakespeare while drunk on unicorn tears.
