Chapter 9: endings and new beginnings

The atmosphere of the shen family manor had turned into a battlefield. Flames burned the ruins of the building, black smoke billowed into the sky, and the screams of the casualties from this battle still echoed.

Bai xieye stood amidst the ruins, his body engulfed in a dark aura that seeped out from his body. His attack had just begun, he was still not satisfied.

The monks stood tall, though their faces began to show tension.

Bai xieye looked at them, then smiled faintly. "I'm just taking back what is rightfully mine.... With blood as payment."

He raised his hand to the sky.

>"Nether chains - thousand death grasp!"

From the shadows around him, pitch-black chains shot out, hunting down the monks at a speed that was impossible to avoid.

Tianshi Monk reacted instantly.

>"Diamond barrier array - impenetrable fortress!"

A defensive formation appeared around them, but as soon as the chains hit the shield, cracking sounds could be heard.

"Too strong!" Monk fangyuan exclaimed while dodging to the side.

But Bai xieye didn't give them time. In an instant, he had already appeared before the weichan monk

>"Dragon soaring step."

Weichan didn't have time to react.

SLASH!

blood spurted into the air. His right hand was cut clean off.

Weichan staggered backwards, his body feeling tremendous pain from the cut hand.

The other monks responded immediately.

>"Buddha's wrath - divine fist of enlightenment!"

Monk Guangxian and monk huiming attacked simultaneously, slamming into Bai xieye with golden glowing fists.

BOOOM!

Bai xieye's body was slammed into the ground, creating a huge crater.

Smoke billowed from his body, blood flowing from his torso. However, instead of feeling pain, he laughed.

"Hahaha... Good. Very good."

He stood up slowly, his eyes darkening.

"You guys think I'm done?"

Bai xieye raised his hand into the air, and a thicker black aura began to flood the area.

>"Abyssal domain - eternal darkness."

In an instant, the light in the entire manor went out.

Thick darkness enveloped the entire area of the shen family manor. There was no light left, even the moonlight seemed to be swallowed up by the power Bai xieye unleashed.

The monks immediately strengthened their defenses.

>"Golden bell Shield - divine protection!"

The Guangxian monks activated their defense techniques, creating a glowing golden shield around their bodies. However, in this darkness, the light from his technique seemed dimmer than usual.

"No way.... This power even suppresses Buddha energy?" Monk huiming muttered, his eyes narrowed in tension.

From within the darkness, Bai xieye's voice rang out, echoing from all directions, making it impossible to track.

"In this darkness, I am the king."

Suddenly...

"Phantom steps - shadow rend!"

SLAASH!

The fangyuan monk screamed as something invisible scraped his shoulder. Fresh blood flowed, even though he couldn't even see his opponent.

"He's moving among the darkness!" Fangyuan warned, but it was too late.

>"Silent Execution - Abyssal rend!"

CRACK!

A hand appeared from within the darkness and slammed into the chest of the already injured weichan monk. The sound of bones breaking was clearly audible before his body was flung backwards, hitting the stone pillar hard.

Tianshi Monk immediately cast his spell.

>"Diamond barrier array - Absolute protection!"

Layers of defense formations appeared, attempting to protect them. However...

>"Dark decay - breaking seal!"

CRACK!

The formation instantly cracked within seconds before collapsing completely!

Monk Guangxian gritted his teeth. "We must end this now!"

He raised both hands to the sky, then golden light began to gather.

>"Buddha's light - absolute purification!"

Exploding with golden rays that dispelled the darkness of Bai xieye's Abyssal domain.

However, Bai xieye still stood there, his body covered in wounds, but his face remained expressionless. His dark eyes stared at the remaining monks.

Monk Guangxian let out a deep breath. "I didn't think that someone who isn't even a true demon could master such a powerful technique..."

Monk weichan collapsed, his breath coming in gasps with his right hand already cut off. Blood was still dripping from his arm, but he still tried to stand up.

"We must not let creatures like this live any longer!" Tianshi monk exclaimed.

Bai xieye grinned. "Oh? You guys finally realized that there's no turning back?"

He raised his hand slowly.

>"Infernal chains - soul constriction."

Black chains shot out, this time not only attacking the physique, but also directly gripping the souls of the monks!

"AARRGGHH!"

Monk huiming fell to his knees, his face paled as the black chains penetrated his body. The golden light surrounding his body began to erode.

"Their souls... Are being destroyed!" Monk Fangyuan exclaimed in fear.

Monk Guangxian gritted his teeth. "If we continue to hold back, we'll all die here!"

He clasped his hands together, then his spiritual power surged dramatically.

"Seventh sutra of vajra - heaven's judgment!"

Above them, golden light formed the silhouette of a giant arhat, carrying a hammer of light that descended with destructive force.

Bai xieye stared at the attack expressionlessly. Then...

"Doom's requiem - Abyssal howl!"

A shrill sound came out of his mouth, shattering the air around and suppressing the giant arhat's attack before his hammer could hit.

Monk Guangxian was shocked. "Impossible!"

But Bai xieye didn't let them think any longer. He ran straight towards the fangyuan monk with a speed that could not be tracked by ordinary eyes.

>"Phantom rend - thousand shadows'!"

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Within seconds, a series of deep wounds appeared on the fangyuan monk's body before his body slammed into the ground, motionless.

"FANGYUAN!!!" shouted monk weichan in anger.

Bai xieye stood in their midst, his enemy's blood dripping from his hands. He sighed softly.

"Now, there are only three left."

The tension began to mount.

But before anyone made a move, suddenly, from a distance.

"THIS CHILD MUST BE EXTERMINATED!"

The heavy voice echoed throughout the ruined manor. From afar, golden light illuminated the night sky, approaching at an incredible speed.

A suppressing aura descended like a mountain, the ground crunched under the fierce spiritual pressure

Bai xieye looked up, his eyes narrowing as he sensed the presence of this new figure.

From behind the light, an old man appeared, robed in golden robes with shining suta patterns. His face was covered in wrinkles. But his eyes were sharp like a sword that had been honed for thousands of years.

The other remaining Guangxian monks immediately showed expressions full of respect and relief.

"Grand monk xuande!"

"Finally, reinforcements are coming!"

Bai xieye remained silent, but the aura around him trembled slightly.

Nascent soul peak... No, it almost entered the spirit severing stage.

Xuande looked at Bai xieye with a calm yet vigilant expression.

"You've made too much destruction, young man."

"I'm only seeking revenge." Bai xieye replied casually, even though his body was covered in wounds and blood dripped from his lips.

Xuande sighed. "A soul that has fallen into the path of the devil can never understand what life is all about."

"I don't need any of that."

Xuande formed a pattern with her fingers. Forming Buddhist runes that spun like the wheel of destiny.

"Nirvana Mudra - Samsara's Eternal Wheel."

The sky seemed to open up. A giant golden mandala appeared behind xuande, and from within it, hundreds of spears of light descended, raining down on Bai like punishment from heaven.

"HEH!"

Bai xieye spread out his hands, and the surrounding shadows shook violently.

"Abyssal devour - eternal Eclipse."

From his body came out a Black vortex, sucking up most of the spears that came towards him, but some spears still managed to penetrate his defenses.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Explosions hit the ground, creating a huge crater and destroying the remains of the shen family manor.

From within the smoke and dust, Bai xieye reappeared, blood soaking his body, but a small smile was still visible on his face.

"Strong enough..."

But before he could move further, xuande had already appeared in front of him in the blink of an eye.

>"Diamond palm - heaven's judgment!"

A giant palm descended from the sky, slamming into Bai xieye with enough force to shake the entire region.

BOOOOOOOOM!

The ground cracked, the wind howled, and the shockwave destroyed whatever was left around them.

The remaining monks could only watch in silence.

The smoke slowly dissipated....

And Bai xieye's figure was still standing there.

"Hah.... Hah..."

Blood rushed from his forehead, one arm hung limply, and his legs trembled slightly.

"You think.... Just this can bring me down?"

Grand monk xuande stood upright, his eyes fixed on Bai xieye who was still holding on despite being battered, the other monks gazed at the scene with a mixture of shock and fear.

"How can he still be standing?"

Bai xieye raised his head slowly. His body was covered in wounds, but the dark energy around him was even more intense, as if xuande's presence only made him even more hungry for battle.

Xuande watched Bai xieye with a serious expression.

"You've gone far enough on this demonic path, stop now before it's too late."

Bai xieye laughed softly. "Too late?"

Di stepped forward, and the entire area instantly shook.

"I passed that point a long time ago."

The shadows around her writhed, enveloping her body. The aura of darkness surged, emitting enough pressure to send a few weak monks tumbling.

Xuande felt a chill run through her. He sighed.

"In that case, I have no other choice."

Xuande pressed his palms together, and his body began to glow.

>"Heavenly Buddha scripture - final illumination."

"This technique will end everything."

Bai xieye grinned.

"The end, you say?"

Suddenly, the shadow under his feet widened, forming an ever-expanding vortex of darkness.

>"Dark Sovereign's descent - Abyssal ruin."

The sky that had been shining because of the holy light of the xuande suddenly dimmed as darkness slowly crept in.

The surviving monks felt an overwhelming fear.

"What is this...?! Even the light of the grand monk xuande.... can't penetrate it?!"

Xuande remained silent, but his solemn expression deepened. He could sense something very strange from Bai xieye.

Bai xieye looked at her with a gaze full of madness.

"I'll show you.... What 'eternity in darkness' looks like."

The vortex of darkness grew larger and larger, creating an unprecedented phenomenon.

Xuande stared intently at the phenomenon.

"Then... I'll make sure you never see the light again!"

>"Buddha's wrath - eternal purification!"

The sky shone again for a moment, the clash between light and darkness reaching its peak.
