Chapter 70: No Safe Haven

---

1. The Chain Reaction

Jinwoo's message spread faster than wildfire.

By morning, the underground knew.

Choi Sang-woo was broken.

Do-jin was crippled.

Jinwoo had drawn first blood—and he wasn't stopping.

In every back alley, every high-end club, every hidden meeting room—fear took root.

But fear alone wouldn't keep the wolves at bay.

Because wolves attacked when cornered.

And the biggest wolves were already preparing their strike.

---

2. A Call From the Past

Jinwoo sat in his office, sipping black coffee, when his phone rang.

Unknown Number.

He didn't answer immediately.

Then, on the second ring, he picked up.

Silence.

Then—a voice he hadn't heard in years.

"Jinwoo… it's been a long time."

Jinwoo's grip tightened. Park Hyun-seok.

A ghost from his past. A mistake he thought was buried.

Hyun-seok had been one of the original Street Kings, a legend in the underground.

A man who disappeared five years ago—after Jinwoo betrayed him.

Jinwoo leaned back. "You're alive."

A chuckle. "Disappointed?"

Jinwoo exhaled slowly. "No. Just wondering why you're calling me now."

Hyun-seok's voice turned sharp. "Because you've made too much noise. And now… everyone's looking at you."

Jinwoo smirked. "They've always been looking."

Hyun-seok's tone darkened. "Not like this. You think taking out Do-jin and Sang-woo makes you untouchable?"

Jinwoo's smirk faded.

Hyun-seok continued.

"You're forgetting one thing, Jinwoo."

A pause.

Then, Hyun-seok spoke the words that sent a chill down Jinwoo's spine.

"You're not the only one who survived that night."

Jinwoo's world tilted.

Because if that was true…

Then everything he built was about to collapse.

---

3. The Sins of the Past

Jinwoo knew exactly what night Hyun-seok was talking about.

Five years ago.

A warehouse. A deal gone wrong.

Back then, Jinwoo wasn't a king. He was just a survivor.

Hyun-seok had been the leader. Jinwoo, his right-hand man.

But when the ambush happened, Jinwoo had made a choice.

To live.

He left them. He ran.

And the entire crew was wiped out.

Or so he thought.

If someone else had survived—if someone knew what really happened—

Then his enemies had the perfect weapon against him.

---

4. The First Counterattack

Jinwoo didn't wait.

He moved first.

That night, he and Ji-hyun led a silent operation into Gangnam.

Their target? A safe house rumored to belong to an old contact of Hyun-seok.

Jinwoo didn't expect to find Hyun-seok himself—but he needed answers.

They breached the building fast and clean.

But when they entered the main room—

It was empty.

No signs of Hyun-seok.

Just a single laptop left open.

And on the screen—a live feed.

A camera showing one of Jinwoo's own safe houses.

Under attack.

Jinwoo's blood turned to ice.

Then—the screen glitched.

A message appeared.

"You ran once, Jinwoo. Let's see what you do now."

The trap had been set.

And Jinwoo had seconds to react.
