Chapter 44: The Heavenly Serpent Mansion Takes Action?

Chapter 44: The Heavenly Serpent Mansion Takes Action?

Stone Desert City.

Inside a spacious room at the Sand Mercenary Group's headquarters, Lu Bu sat cross legged on a cyan lotus platform. In front of him, a transparent, colorless flame floated, enveloping a golden pill that rotated slowly.

On the ground, intricate lines of an array stretched outward in all directions, forming a complex interwoven pattern. At the center of the array sat Qing Lin and the Twin Headed Flame Spirit Serpent.

This was a large protective array. However, its primary function wasn't defense it was to conceal the aura of what Lu Bu was doing. He was refining pills, and in a place like Stone Desert City, a remote and barren corner of the world, such activity could easily attract unwanted attention from the authorities.

On the rooftop outside, Hai Bodong watched the golden pill hovering in front of Lu Bu with an uncontrollable longing in his eyes. His throat bobbed as he swallowed hard.

Huangji Pill!

A sixth tier pill that could allow a Dou Emperor to advance a full star without injury. Hai Bodong, once proud of his talent, had reached the Dou Emperor stage by the age of thirty four, rivaling the current Misty Cloud Sect Master Yun Yun in aptitude. Back then, he scoffed at the idea of relying on such pills, believing that even without them, he was unmatched.

But now?

It was irresistible!

Even through the array, without being able to smell or touch it, Hai Bodong couldn't stop thinking about how much he wanted that pill. For over twenty years, his strength had been suppressed, leaving him frustrated beyond measure.

Buzz!

The golden pill reached completion, releasing faint ripples of golden energy. The waves struck the protective array with a bang, causing the energy barrier to tremble slightly.

At the array's core, Qing Lin and the Twin Headed Flame Spirit Serpent both shuddered slightly. However, the energy ripples dissipated as quickly as they had come, leaving the protective array intact.

"The pill is complete…" Hai Bodong murmured, eyes glued to Lu Bu's work. Over the past few days, Lu Bu had refined two pills a Dou Ling Pill for Dou Kings to break through to Dou Spirit, and now this Huangji Pill.

Hai Bodong couldn't help but feel grateful that he hadn't gone all out against Lu Bu back then. This man was indeed a genuine sixth tier alchemist, with a mastery of pill refinement unlike anything Hai Bodong had ever seen.

If Hai Bodong had initially submitted due to Lu Bu's strength, he now felt genuine admiration for the young man.

"This… doesn't seem too hard," Lu Bu muttered as he smacked his lips. He had refined three pills in total: two Huangji Pills and one Dou Ling Pill, all in just ten days. Not bad at all.

The materials had been gathered from the Magical Beast Mountain Range… along with a portion of the treasures looted from Gu Te in Black Rock City. That old guy had truly been loaded.

Outside, Hai Bodong was about to say something when the cyan lotus platform beneath Lu Bu suddenly lit up, surging with energy that began pouring into Lu Bu's body.

Lu Bu raised an eyebrow in surprise but quickly stored away the pills and closed his eyes, forming hand seals to start cultivating.

"Is he breaking through to a six star Dou Master?" Hai Bodong widened his eyes in disbelief. A sixth tier alchemist should logically be at least a Dou Emperor why was Lu Bu still only a Dou Master?

"This guy… he's impossible to figure out," Hai Bodong muttered, rubbing his temples with a sigh.

Half an hour later, Lu Bu opened his eyes, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he felt the Dou Qi circulating within him.

"Not bad. Another breakthrough," Lu Bu said with satisfaction.

He had several ways to quickly enhance his Dou Qi he could directly use the Devouring Ancestral Talisman to absorb the Earth Fire Lotus Seeds or the Amethyst Source. Even the lotus platform beneath him was something he could consume.

However, these items had their own purposes. For now, Lu Bu chose to cultivate steadily. The lotus platform, in particular, was critical for retrieving the Green Lotus Core Flame and couldn't be damaged.

"Young Master… are you done?" Qing Lin asked softly, her delicate voice tinged with exhaustion. Sitting at the array's core didn't require her to expend Dou Qi, but the recent energy surges, absorbed by the Flame Spirit Serpent, had still been taxing for someone who hadn't even reached the Dou Practitioner stage.

Lu Bu chuckled, lightly tapping the ground with his foot. The array dissolved in an instant.

Qing Lin let out a sigh of relief and quickly withdrew the Flame Spirit Serpent back into her sleeve, though her pale face betrayed her fatigue.

"Hai Lao, wrap up matters with the Sand Mercenary Group. I'll head back with Qing Lin first," Lu Bu said as he unfurled his Purple Cloud Wings and flew back to his house with Qing Lin.

"Got it…" Hai Bodong replied. But just as he was about to agree, he saw Lu Bu already soaring through the sky. Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he summoned Rob, the mercenary group's leader, and tossed him a few pills. He sternly instructed Rob to keep everything that had happened over the past few days strictly confidential or face the consequences.

After scaring Rob into submission, Hai Bodong returned to Lu Bu's house.

"Young Master, can Qing Lin cultivate?" Qing Lin asked timidly as she lay in Lu Bu's arms. She felt helpless every time she could only watch him fight, unable to contribute.

Hearing this, Lu Bu froze for a moment before smiling. "Of course you can. But I'm leaving for the Snake People Tribe tomorrow, so I'll ask Hai Lao to guide you while I'm away."

"Thank you, Young Master!" Qing Lin's face lit up with joy. Her young master was always so kind to her.

The Next Morning

By the time Qing Lin woke up, Lu Bu had already left. A trace of disappointment flickered across her face, but she quickly perked up when Hai Bodong called for her.

"Lu Bu already explained everything to me," Hai Bodong said seriously. "You're currently at the seventh stage of Dou Qi. Your top priority is to reach the Dou Practitioner level as soon as possible."

Fifteen years old and only at the seventh stage of Dou Qi? At this rate, she won't achieve anything significant in her lifetime… Hai Bodong thought grimly.

He pulled out a bottle of pale green liquid from his storage ring and handed it to her. "This was left by your Young Master, specifically for helping you cultivate Dou Qi. The instructions are written on this paper read it carefully."

"You'll need to reach the Dou Practitioner stage before I can teach you any cultivation techniques."

"Yes, sir," Qing Lin replied respectfully.

"Alright, off you go." Hai Bodong waved her away.

Meanwhile, in the Southeastern Region of the Northwest Continent

Near the Black Corner Region, yet outside its jurisdiction, lay a sprawling mountain range filled with countless massive buildings. The structures stretched across the peaks, seemingly endless.

At the center of this stronghold, a green streak of light shot out, landing in a northern building. Moments later, two streaks of light one green and one black rushed toward the central area before soaring into the sky, heading northwest.

"Triple Jade Green Flower Pupils… Does it really exist?" muttered the Eight Winged Black Serpent Emperor, shaking its massive head. "Could the leader have sensed it wrong?"

"Why didn't you say that earlier?" a green robed woman beside it asked coldly.

"Heh… I've missed Queen Medusa in the Tagore Desert. It's been too long. I should pay her a visit," the serpent immediately changed the subject.

"Careful. She might kill you," the woman said mockingly before the Eight Winged Black Serpent Emperor flicked its tail and flew off toward the distant desert.

Tagore Desert

On a sand dune, the clash of steel and cries of battle rang out continuously.

"Snake People Tribe! We're from the Golden Goose Sect! You can't "

"Heh! Killing scum from the Falling Goose Empire is what we do best!"

The sounds of weapons clashing echoed for a while longer before gradually subsiding.

Peering out from a corner, Lu Bu clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"What a hassle…"
